  1. Model professional? :)

If anything there should be fewer players like him around, mercenaries.

I tell you exactly how it will go, Chris will not leave you in January because him and his agent would rather have any potential transfer fee go to themselves as a signing on fee in the summer than to yourselves....he won't do what's best for Motherwell, Chris Porter and his slimey agent will do what's best for Chris Porter and his slimey agent, that's a fact. In fact when we turned down 750k for him in the January it was because Porter told of how he "loved the club" and "didn't want to be sold" and that he'd "sign a new deal at the end of the season", obviously the plan was to always leave and get a big signing on fee for him and his agent.

:( Well he must have learned his lesson because he hasn't gone through that routine with us. When he signed, he was quite up front about looking to progress his career and move on. He has been nothing but professional since the day he joined.

I'm guessing you have never changed jobs in your life, because that would be a wee bit mercenary too, no?

  2. What's he done in the last 7/8 games to justify a place, be it a start or replacement? Nothing is the answer
Apart from the last couple of games, that accusation could be made about any of our players.
  3. was talkin to a close relative of Stephen Hughes last night and he seems to reckon that he is staying put for at least another season !!

reasons were that he has a young kid settled at nursery/primary school, and his missus is halfway through a course at uni, and doesn't want to move before she finishes it !!

There are other teams in the vicinity he could play for without moving house. But good to hear, nonetheless.
  4. I think Sutton was brought in as a direct replacement for Porter. As other have said, the two don't play so well together.

If Porter does leave, then Clarky and Sutton should make a decent pairing.

  5. McGhee obviously has an overall plan for the way he wants us to play. So even if he brings in a player with potential, there is still a lot of work required to fit him into the system. He made that clear in is radio interview again last night where he mentioned that he told Jim "if the guy that coached you when your were 9 years old saw you today, he'd see exactly the same player" (or words to that effect). It seems, however, that he is now taking on board what is required to play in the MM system, and it's starting to pay off.

  6. I really can't see why Porter would be a target for Hearts, I mean he is British!!

As for Porter himself, I htink he would go there in a heartbeat despite the madness at the club, would take 300K in January but not a penny less.

If he did go to Hearts, the money would have to be in the bank (and cleared) before we let him go. No idea why he would go there when he can find a better deal down south, mind you.
  7. Arbroath were only entitled to money if webster was sold. Incase you don't know webster left in the 3rd year of a 4 year deal therfore Hearts never recieved a fee. It's all crazy behind the scene's stuff, if anybody is due money it shouldf be webster.
If that was true, then you wouldn't have agreed to pay Arbroath anything; and yet you are paying them on Jan 9th (allegedly). Why would you do that?
  8. It's obvious I'm no Malcolm fan, and I'd be happy to see him move on during the window. From McGhee's past comments, he obviously wanted him to play in the midfield and has been disappointed in the lack of fitness which has prevented from playing that role more often.

I'd be much happier keeping Reynolds for that role and freeing up Fat Boab's salary for other options.
