Let's not rewrite history, Biereth had scored two first team goals before signing for us. He was in no way a sure bet...
There's more to it than first team goals, though. You only needed to watch him play for 45 minutes to see how good he was.
Unlike, say, Theo Bair, who was very much a "project".

Happens to every keeper that is asked to play this way. I remember watching Liverpool lose a goal or two when Allison was disposessed.

Thought about getting mine with "Thatcher's Still Dead" on the back
Not a bad shout. While British Steel shoulder some of the blame, if they were a bank with those financial problems the government of the day would have been more than happy to throw our tax money at them and keep them afloat.

There are rules and laws in place for good reason. Then there are self-important pricks who go beyond them, make it up as they go, and get it wrong through sheer incompetence.
Agreed on both counts.
I guarantee, however, there will be complaints about the new SO too when sections of our fans don't get their way.

"Let's pay a tribute to our Steelmen history, and the devastating impact and loss to the community that many still have to deal with today."
Aye, but I don't like the badge.

Safety Officers are always going to rub some folk the wrong way because they are responsible for enforcing rules (and laws) some people don't like e.g. no pyro.

If there is anyone with any business sense in the board, what should happen if Miller prefers a lower bid is that the club (and his agent) tell the lower bidder if they add another million they will get him.
Despite all the speculation in the media, nobody really knows the value of any bids that are made, including the interested clubs.
-
Prudence should be the name of the game even if we get millions for Miller.
The last thing we need to be doing is following the John Boyle Model of Recruitment & Financial Management.

I'm thinking about adding a pre-qualification question requirement before posting:
"Do you understand the difference between a competitive match and a non-competitive pre-season friendly?"

It says much about our current defensive options that he probably walks into our first team...
I like Bevis, but he had as many mistakes and as many poor passes in him as our current defenders.

20mins in and it’s rotten.
It always is at this time of pre-season. We're in the run till you're knackered sessions. Actual football and tactics come a bit later.

I'm not reading anything else into it but I do find it a bit odd he's starting tonight.
Doesn't hurt to let the European scouts watch him play.

My Dutch colleagues tell me it's about 34C there today, so probably won't be seeing much high tempo football this evening.

Saw big bevis mugabe in Bothwell today with his missus. Kilmarnock maybe?
Or St Mirren, given Robinson signed him?

It might, but I'm a Duck Duck Go kinda guy.

Other than "It's on Youtbue" did the club post the kick-off time for today's match?
(didn't want to start a new thread).
EDIT: Never mind, after not finding it on Twitter or the Club Site, I found it in the email they sent today.
6pm UK time.

Sometimes people forget Miller is only 18. As good as he is, he will have dips in performance like any other 18 year old.
However, he is still very much worth 5+ million of any rich club's budget.
-
I imagine most financial contributors to the Society only want to support the club and have no interest in the day-to-day running.
I don't have a problem with that.
-
Exactly. Miller and his dad have shown they know exactly what they are doing.
Clubs are very aware of him (hence the bids we knocked back in January) and his agent will be bigging him up every day.
As I have said before, it's 2 months before the window closes, and these types of deals take time.
Plus, of course, Lennon has to want to join one of the clubs making an offer.

Don't think it's a huge deal, tbh.
I'd imagine he'll train with us until his move is finalised, but the manager will be trying out Miller-less formations in the early matches if he's still around.
I would not be surprised if his move isn't finalised until August, especially if it is overseas with all the additional red tape involved.

That's Wellspeak for 2 months.
TBF, I don't think the club have commented. Only the Daily Record is reporting it.
Which either means he starts tomorrow, or out until Christmas.

But dynamic pricing applies...

I've seen enough evidence in the UK and in the US (where there are many) to pass judgement.
New away kit 25/26

It's not black.
It's not fluorescent.
It's not jester-ish.
That puts it ahead of the game for me.
I'd be quite happy if our change kit every season was white with claret and amber trim, but those days have long gone.
On the plus side, if we launch a kit you don't like, it will be gone in a season.
