  1. No keeper would have much confidence with a defence that can't deal with crosses.
  2. Hope Al B didn't see that short corner. What a waste
  3. Yes!!! Now let's keep hitting that byline.
  4. Aye, that one is working for me.

Aye, scottishfootball.co.uk was a great effort that I was happy to support every week. I'd be happy to stump up a few quid every week for that sort of coverage again.
  6. So it would be better to lose to Llanelli than pick up 90 thousand Euros for winning and have a couple more competitive games in our pre-season? I think you're trying too hard to find things to complain about.
  7. Aye, but he's taking his wife. So that makes it about the same as not going.
  8. Unfortunately for St. Mirren, they seemed to play better against us on sand than they do on the green stuff.
  9. He certainly was. It was a bit of a coup from wee Tommy to get Russell and Cooper in the same team.
  10. I dreamt last night that O'Brien opened the scoring in the first minute. Unfortunately, I woke up after that, so I don't know how it finished. I think Llanelli will stick to the same plan, so we need to focus on hitting the by-line, stretching their defence, and pinging in plenty of crosses. We also need to make sure we don't start panicking if we don't hit an early goal. The first job at hand is to get 1 - 0 up. It doesn't matter if that happens in the first 10 minutes or the last 10 minutes; as long as it happens. Then we can worry about going on to win.
  11. If lack of television money means that the clubs get their finances in order and start focusing on the development of home-grown players, then I think it will be beneficial for football in the long run. Even in the SPL there are too many overpaid players of average ability.
  12. According to the SPL financial report that was just published, St. Mirren sold Love Street for 9.2 million and made a net profit of almost 11 million. However, there wage bill rose 15% and their attendances fell 19% from the previous year.
  13. No sweat, I knew what you meant. Like I said, good find - I have a few sites I use for streaming, but that one was new to me.
  14. Well, to be fair, the idea isn't that you have to go out and sign somebody within 24hrs. The idea is that you get to register new players that you have signed during the last couple of weeks or so.
  15. I don't care if it works for the Americans, as long as the Scots living in America can watch Good find, btw.

Aye, but only if they were streaming the games live for the ex-pats.
  17. Aye, big Keith was the best by quite some distance.
  18. I'd assumed the two were closely related.
  19. Aye, that's probably true, but I like my statistics Plus, I seem to have blanked out most of the Roger Hynd games for some reason. Despite our 6th and 5th place finishes, under MacLeod, I really enjoyed that period of watching the 'Well. Made it to almost every away game and got enjoy the delights of Firs Park, Starks Park, Annfield, East End Park etc. I got my first season ticket that year too.
  20. Regardless of the players, the worst team is the one that finished 6th in the First Division (79/80 season). The lowest position I have witnessed in my time at Fir Park. Still had a lot of fun going to all the games though.
  21. Like most forums, the posters tend to be a self-selecting sample i.e. people are more likely to post a complaint than they are to make a positive comment. That's human nature and unlikely to change. Having said that, however, for reasons that I have never quite understood, and for as long as I have been going to Fir Park, there has been a significant faction of fans who seem to loudly (and irrationally) complain about everything.
  22. Sounds a lot like Faddy when he made his breakthrough into the first team. I'm glad we didn't sell him on so early in his career.
  23. I see in The Scotsman this morning, Wattie is saying that nothing has changed from the January transfer window and the entire Rangers squad is still up for sale. So it's not just us that is having to make the books balance like this.
