  1. I was hoping we'd be celebrating the one year anniversary of our 2010 Cup Final win.
  2. Just Mark Hughes picking up another one of his ex-players. He is being signed as the number 4, so not much chance of him getting first team action yet.

We didn't (at least, I didn't). I was answering a question. I don't care, because I don't have kids and will never buy another 'Well (or any other team's) shirt again. They are overpriced and often fade, rip or fall apart with minimal use. The cash injection, however, is relying on our supporters paying over the odds for a shirt that is likely to change every year. So if some of the weans don't get their way, then sponsorships like this will soon dry up.

No, but parents will be continually nagged by their kids to get the latest.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like the contract may have been cancelled due to Bukta failing to live up to their side of the deal. If that is the case, then I imagine there is a clause that lets the club break it with no financail penalty.
  6. I would imagine it's because there isn't any jumping around or moving towards the pitch. I'm not a big fan of sitting, and would much prefer it if sections of terrace were brought back. However, when I do sit, it gets very annoying very quickly if the 2 or 3 people directly in front stand up every 30 seconds.

Not just you. The last shirt I bought was the '91 Cup Final. The prices for any kit are a rip-off these days and I'd rather support the club in ways other than making the kit manufacturers rich.
  8. Maybe we should forward Chick Young's details.
  9. I think you'll find links golf courses have near perfect drainage thanks to Mother Nature. It'slight years away from the Lanarkshire clay.
  10. Lucky for him the SPL doesn't insist on 4 stands.
  11. With our support? Quite a few. Even wee Tommy was hated for a long time by a section of our support.
  12. If we played 4-4-2 we could give them a half-decent game. However, we'd probably play some weird 3-7-0 formation and lose by 3.

Of course they biased. They are in the business of selling newspapers. So the Glasgow media's biggest market is the OF, and the Edinburgh media's biggest market is Hearts/Hibs. We get served by the Motherwell Times, Hamilton Advertiser and Tam Cowan.
  14. There's a lot of pyschology involved. I remember Jack Nicklaus saying that when he heard players complaining about a golf course the day before a tournament he could discount them as challengers. It's similar thing here. Sure, the pitch is bad and you will get some bad bounces, but as one of the papers pointed out today, a lot of the problems are down to poor technique from the players. Have a look at beach football on Youtube to see what decent players can do on a rutted sandy surface.

Slightly off topic, but that is the most useless rule ever invented. Has anybody *ever* been penalised for going over 6 seconds. Who times it - the linesman?
  16. And as long as they take the same attitude, hilarity ensues.

Looked like a booking when I was watching it on the telly.
  18. Well, the fact that FC Schalke has a much bigger catchment area doesn't do their attendances much harm either.
  19. Aye, like I said at half-time, I though he did okay. One or two mistakes (including at least one handball against Samaras that looked quesionable), but nothing that changed the result. No idea what he is like on a night out, but I have a mate that is a cop, and he is a riot. He works in the drug squad right enough.

Only saw the game on telly, and I know that doesn't always give a fair reflection of play, so I didn't actually vote. Was impressed by Klimpl, but thought O'Brien just shaded it.
  21. And today's rise into the top 6 shows there is still plenty to play for.
  22. Aye, another game added to our unbeaten SPL run, and coming back from a goal behind. A good day at the office.
  23. That's been on the cards for a while.
  24. I think Brines has done mostly okay today (so wait for the controversial last minute pen).
  25. EDIT: sorry that didn't work. Download sopcat from here. Go to here and click on the sopcast link under the P.A.B section.
