Again, a draw here might be best for us with both teams dropping 2 points.

Good to see Falkirk drop a couple of points. Good for us if we can take care of our stuff.

League Cup Semi Motherwell v St Mirren 1/11/2025

You do have a valid point and it may be that the learning curve for that is a bit longer, to find that balance between being patient and retaining possession versus taking the risk in the final third. Having said that we have scored several goals where we have transitioned quickly from defense onto attack and scored. Dundee Utd game being a prime example with the two goals we scored. Also, I do think we have seen us start to use longer passes more often but not with big success rate. To your general point though, we do have to find the killer/penetrating pass more often. Is that due to lack of movement up front or midfield slow to see opportunities or deciding not to risk loosing possession? Hopefully we will continue to improve in areas as required to help us win more games. -

No argument there but will one be available that we can get? Although, if Wellsaid is correct, then perhaps. -

January window keeps getting mentioned but I’m not so sure it’s going to help that much. Would be great if I’m wrong but I suppose we’ll find out fairly soon. -
Hopefully they pick up a few knocks on their travels and come back tired and sore. I’ll take any advantage we can get. we are more than capable of winning this but we need everybody to play well and take our chances when we have them but at the same time, no silly defensive mistakes.

I don’t like it when MJC predicts a win for us, so I’m quite happy to see him predict defeat

I’m not overly upset at 4-1. At 2-1 we had abandoned defending to try and save the game. We didn’t manage to score again amd they punished us at the back. -

Not a good football weekend, Austin FC beat 1-4 at home by LAFC in play off. Porteus was playing for LAFC alongside Som and Loris. -
Not sure how this will go. Hope we get a reaction from the team to help us win this one. We’ve already had 2 shut outs against them so I don’t see that happening 3 games in a row. A draw would be decent as I think they have got better since we last played them but 3 points would make a tremendous difference Toni’s as we have a difficult set of games this month. Killie away then hibs and hearts at home. should be two good games at home, even more so if we can get some wins.

Not sure why Welsh didn’t start yesterday. I’d say our center back pair should always be Welsh +1, probably McGinn at the moment. I’d stick with Fadinger and Watt. Perhaps JT sub and RCC starting? Or start JT to see which one we are getting and then decide from there. Slattery to start. O’Donnell and Johnny. One starts one subs on don’t care which order. Longelo starts since no real option but hope he’s a bit more aggressive down the line, like he was doing a few games ago. Give Hendry a go to start this game. I think he’s looking better each game. No reason we can’t do well in this game other than it’s not very often we beat Aberdeen 3 times in a row.

You never know which JT is going to turn up but he is our top scorer. If we could get consistent performances from him that would be a big boost……. Till we Sold him. -

Everyone bitterly disappointed but I agree, let’s not start ripping everything up and revert to hoofball kick and rush. Earlier in the season it seemed like people agreed there will be bumps in the road but sounds like any bump we hit is cause for over the top knee jerk reactions. I also wouldn’t be hoping for any major recruiting during the January window as I always think it’s very tough to get quality players mid season amd would expect the summer window to be when we can improve our squad. regarding yesterday I think it’s fair comment to say we could possibly have started with a different line up. Once we are two down as time runs out we end up leaving ourselves exposed at the back, a risk I think we had to take but St Mirren punished us for that. the players were not at their best but perhaps not as bad as made out to be in some of the posts but i do agree that we need to improve our goal scoring amd defense although if we can improve on one of those that might be enough. -

Not our day. Back to league business. As well getting beat 4-1 as 2-1. well below our best as a team and individually today but hopefully that won’t happen too many games. -

Yep! Could go either way. Let’s hope good football triumphs over brute force. Do we know the ref yet? -

For folks in the USA the game is live on paramount+ beginning 5 mins before kick off. -
Both goals were terrific. the first one, we won the ball at the top of our box and went straight up and scored. The second, we won the ball about 10/15 yards outside our box and same again, straight up the park and score. Great stuff to watch. There are still a few things that need fixing but how good are we going to be if we can fix them??
-
Watched highlights a couple of times. Still can’t believe Utd player hit the post. Still, nice to have a wee bit of luck now and again.
-
We were consistently out numbered down that flank. He needed some help.
-
Speaking of kicking, I hope we have a better ref for the semi than the one tonight. Utd just kicked lumps out of us from start to finish and it didn’t seem to bother the ref.
