Obviously hoping the new boss does well and that he brings back some entertaining football to Fir Park. His immediate task is to get the kind of players he needs in order to support his preferred system and for it to have any chance of success. Should be interesting (and hopefully exciting) to see what new players he brings in and what he can get out of our existing players.

But is it a stepping stone for him with add ons coming our way in the future? Maybe, Maybe not or probably not.

Yes, Some dross on display and I’m hoping Miller gets some time but we have McTomminay, McGinn, Gilmour, Ferguson, in where we would expect to see Miller. All good players this past season for their clubs. Perhaps Clarke has something to do with their level of performance in a Scotland team???

Can’t say I’m impressed by the new rangers appointment but I don’t really know him. His CV doesn’t seem that great if the new owners are going to throw a bunch of money at them. Hoping our new manager gives us something to look forward to.

You are correct. I think I inferred that by saying “unseeded draw” but yes, a knockout competition ie the old European cup and as you say, also addresses complaints from players about too many games.

Just goes to show that on a level financial basis the old firm are no better than any other team. Which also goes for every other league in the world. The more money you have the better your chance of success. So All this “we are better than you” shite, really translates to “we have more money than you” and i do believe this is exactly what the old firm say with regards to European competitions. However, UEFA and FIFA, continue to support actions to make the rich teams richer and the “poor” teams poorer thereby actively reducing competitiveness and ability for poor teams to attain enough financial opportunity to reach a competitive level. Champions league should be only champion from each country with an unseeded draw. Likewise Europa league should be like old cup winners cup and then have conference league for other teams.

Oh I agree that Seddon is better and is really like to keep him.

I have not seen us play in Europe. Moved over here in 1989. Closest I got was the year Sligo Rovers put us out. I was home for the dates of the next round 😡 I did come back for Scottish cup finals in 1991, 2011 and 2018 but didnt come back for either of the league cup finals. Of course, I’d be delighted to see us win a league cup but I’m definitely more disappointed when we get knocked out of Scottish cup than league cup.

Don’t really care too much about league cup. Would be nice to win it, but for me, it lost a lot once they took away the European place.

What you mention also annoys me but I am talking about obstruction. Eg ball played back to goalie. Forward moves to chase the keeper down. 15 yards from the ball opposing players steps right in front of forward to delay him getting to the ball. Read Law 12 obstruction section. It should be a foul. If no contact with player it’s indirect. If contact made its direct kick. The refs have apparently stopped calling it now. The usual response is a player can go where he likes on the field. The law covers that response and if the purpose is to obstruct an opposing player from getting to the ball when the defender is not within reasonable playing distance of the ball then they are not allowed to do that
