Players need to keep the heid. We don't want repeat of Borussia Dortmund second leg with a key player being sent off early and the team being too wound up to respond. I think they'll be niggling Skippy and falling like skittles at every tackle from Las in attempt to get one of them sent off or booked very early. I agree. Even if we do, it's still going to be huge ask to get 10th as Ross County don't look like a team that's going to crumble in closing straight.

Does anyone with good contacts know if the signings of Pearson, Straker and Laing mean that's it for the window? Is there any chance of one or two others coming in?

I was keen to see us retaining Faddy because I think Vigurs, in particular, but Ainsworth to some extent, too, were more effective when playing alongside Oor James.

I hope he is fit and deal can go ahead. Even if he's shown some good things in the odd game, I think that overall he's been a huge disappointment.

George Friend is a regular for Middlesbrough, so can't see why he'd be coming to us.

This sounds interesting but isn't Vigurs still recovering from injury and some way short of match fitness? If so, why would another club take him?

I'd give up on SPFL and track results of teams that I've watched whilst working/living abroad - Inter-Turku in Finland, Royal Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium ( even if I hate the name), AAlborg AB in Denmark. However, it wouldn't come near to the emotional attachment of going to 'Well games since 3-3 home draw with Third Lanark in 1964/5 season.

I wasn't suggesting Faddy's departure was the root cause of the so-called meltdown, merely that in addition to his own personal contribution, he made oothers around him play more effectively. I don't see anyone in current squad having that impact.

Back four needs protection and so I expect Reid to be put in front of it. With the general malaise around the squad, it's hard to be confident in any 11 selected. I do think Thomas deserves a decent outing - even if not from start. I'd go with Twardzik Kerr O'Brien McManus Hammell Reid Lasley Ainsworth Ojamma Vigurs Sutton I'd look to bring on Thomas if Vigurs is hiding and Carsewell if Lasley is tiring. As for score, I fear a humping if/when we lose an early first goal but will opt for Sheep 2 us 0 but wish for last second dodgy goal for us to make it a 1-0 "steal".

I agree and remarked on this weeks ago. Faddy made Ainsworth and Vigurs more effective. My mates and I were chatting to him in the queue at New Douglas Park and he acknowledged that he has problems with one of his knees but still feels he coudl play for a while yet.

I don't disagree with the point you make the need for SMcC to commit to a future with us. I'm fed up with folk decrying what he has achieved.
