A must to get a positive result, preferably a win. Team selection will be affected by McManus injury and I would think McHugh moves into central defence. Let's hope return of Pearson can add something more positive to midfield. Agree that Clay played well, last week. Definitely need Moult and McDonald up front to start game. Would be good for team confidence if we can score first and early in first half but I still don't feel good about this. Let's hope Robinson's return has boosted players and reduced McGhee's recent irrationality.
It was backing off from them and not converting at least two of four good chances that allowed them to win a game that we should have won out the park by 40minutes in.
Paul Quinn's interview in the Sunday Herald would tend to confirm that Ross County are paying big wages as he asked McInnes to move (back) to Dingwall.
A solid team performance. I thought young Hall was pushed about a bit at times but, overall, we refused to let them intimidate us. Hard to choose a single MoM but I'll go for Moult.
Excellent team performance. Even though Ripley fluffed it for Thistle goal, he made other saves that more than compensated. Skippy's my choice for his overall contribution throughout the entire match. With about 10 minutes to go, Robinson was signalling to him in a way that seemed to suggest he was asking if he wanted to come off but Skippy indicated he was staying on.
Thought ref demonstrated that the only week we had consistent refereeing in Scotland was when they took petted lip and went on strike and we brought refs in from elsewhere. Hard to pick a man of the match as so many seemed to be off key last night. Going for McDonald as he never gave up and he gave Lawless an ear bashing early in first half. Though Hall and McManus were solid enough but Pearson and Hammell seemed knackered.
He seems a solid signing but, with the exception of Wullie P, I always have difficulty coping with the stain of the Jambos on any of our player. Probably a generational thing.
Andy Walker was the last Well player that I remember consistently finding good space at throw-ins and making himself available to do something constructive.
Darkest amber with full claret hoop with white shorts and hooped socks for home kit for me and white strip with thin single claret and single amber hoops on top for away kit. The latter like 1960s floodlight strip.
Players need to keep the heid. We don't want repeat of Borussia Dortmund second leg with a key player being sent off early and the team being too wound up to respond. I think they'll be niggling Skippy and falling like skittles at every tackle from Las in attempt to get one of them sent off or booked very early. Wouldn't rule out a pitch invasion by them either - its worked in the past for them. So keep the heid, concentrate and stay focused and it could be on a par with 1991. COYW
Does anyone with good contacts know if the signings of Pearson, Straker and Laing mean that's it for the window? Is there any chance of one or two others coming in?
I was keen to see us retaining Faddy because I think Vigurs, in particular, but Ainsworth to some extent, too, were more effective when playing alongside Oor James.
