  1. C'mon, you can't leave the Ainsworth pre-contract one hanging without more info: which country? which club?
  2. My wife bought me a half-season ticket for Cooper Stand - I usually sit in PO'D. Since moving I haven't witnessed us being beaten at home - drawn with Aberdeen, beaten Partick Thistle, Hearts, Inverness Caley, Ross County and drawn with Celtic. I know that we lost (at home) to Killie but I couldn't get to that one. So, on that basis and given fact that I'll be at Fir Park on Saturday, I'm anticipating us winning, drawing at worst but not being beaten. Hope this isn't tempting fate.
  3. With stats like that, you don't need to be an Ainsworth fanboy to see that, overall, he has contributed well when playing. On top of that, he seems to have settled down at Fir park. I'd like to see him staying.
  4. Loved the occasion, the whole cup run and the result but didn't like the strip.
  5. I'm dead against dropping the band. It'd be like Celtic dropping hoops, Killie ditching stripes, Hibs ditching their combination of white sleeves and green body on strip. The band's a defining feature of the club and kit for me.
  6. I remeber all of that team. I, also, remeber b getting my nose burst by a ball hit by Dixie. I was sitting on wall at halfway line in what is now the East Stand.
  7. Nigel Clough confirmed as Sheffield Utd manager, so Stuart not going there. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24628417
  8. Or could it be this guy? Tom WILLIAMS Winger | Striker Joined The Magpies during the summer of 2011 from Evo-Stik One North side Clitheroe. Had trials with both Manchester United and Liverpool before signing youth forms at Wigan Athletic, where he progressed to the reserve team. On leaving Wigan he joined dropped into non-league football with Rossendale United and Bamber Bridge before joining Clitheroe. Despite being just 20, this season will be Tom's 5th in the Evo-Stik League and last season he finished second-top-scorer at Shawbridge. He plays predominantly on the right wing, but he can also play up front if required. CFC CareerAppsGoals 37 1Former Clubs: Wigan Athletic, Rossendale United, Bamber Bridge, Clitheroe
  9. According to Liverpool FC website, their Acadelmy has a 17 year old Welsh midfielder named Michael Williams. Could it be him? http://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/academy/player/michael-williams
  10. What a wit Oh, I'm only half right, there.
  11. That's interesting. He was sat in front of me in PO'D stand during the evening match when we beat Celtic last season and he was a real gentleman: responding positively to all requests for photos and autographs and chatting to me and fellow Well fans about aspects of the game. In fact, my mates and I shook his hand as he left and wished him well in his career.
  12. Oh No! I see he's signed and probably making no contribution to the team that I watched for 4 years whilst living in Brussels. If he continues on this path his next stop will be West Brom as I watched them when I lived down south.
  13. I despair at the lack of realism that some posters display. Look at McCall's record with the team, Scootish Cup Final, League Cup Semi-final, Europe in every season. Has any other non-OFmanager achieved anything near this? The moaners always quote teams like Aberdeen, Dundee United or Hibs when they're dissing McCall. Ask yourself this question: If you were a neutral, which of these teams - Aberdeen, Dundee united, Hibs or Motherwell - would you have preferred to watch over the past three seasons?
  14. Well-argued. And even if Sutton doesn't do as well as Higdon did in his stellar last season, he'll still put a good number of goals away for us.
  15. He'd, certainly, bring some bite into the defence. Wonder if playing for a non-OF team would lead to an increase in his yellow/red card count.
  16. Get a contract extension/new contract in place, quick, and we might, actually, get some money when the time for his big move comes.
  17. Was it not Alex Burns or Rab McKinnon?
  18. Seems a bit daft to have kept him on and paid him whilst he was recovering from injury and then not sought to get some return/payback on his recovery. Couldn't we have offered him a short-term deal on baisis that he had to prove his fitness and if he did, then extend it and look to sell him?
  19. I guess you're right on that. I see Fraser Kerr as having a significant distance to travel if he's to develop into the palyer that Stephen Saunders was shaping up to be.
  20. I agree, which is what motivated me to post my remarks on him getting agme time with Sheffield United. Let's hope SMcC has a worthy replacement in his sights and ready to sign for us.
  21. I se that Steven saunders is currently on trial with Sheffield United and got some game time against Mortron, last night. Good luck to him but I hope this doesn't turn out to be us giving the family silverware away.
  22. Yep! Seems to be a strange position for club to adopt, given comments by SMcC.
  23. I see St Johnstone have signed David Wotherspoon. Could he have done a job for us? I thought he had some good games against us and others in which he and his fellow Hibees just weren't at the races against us. However, overall, I thought he was a decent enough SPL player.
