Love to see Hammell back for this. If he isnt fit Id give it to Luke Watt. Thought he did well enough previously and will only get better with experience.

Havent been since Partick game in December and no idea why I chose to go today as I had absolutely no expectation of anything other than defeat but wow! No idea where it came from. Clearly the introduction of Pearson and MacDonald had a huge influence and the manager looked to have learned something from the last few weeks by playing the guys mostly in their preferred positions. Still some work to do at the back and cutting out unforced errors but that was the most entertaining and enjoyable performances of the season and better than a lot of the stuff we served up last year. One swallow doesn't make a summer, but when we were looking for any kind of sign that we might just get out of this, today was a good start.

A lot of worthy performances today. Josh Law did well at right back. Pearson and Grant did well in midfield and both Erwin and MacDonald put a shift in up front. Voted for Skippy on the basis that his leadership and influence appeared to raise the level of everyone else in the team.

That was a great listen. I dont know Flow and had no idea whether he had the ability for the general managers role. However, that was a refreshingly straight talking interview and put to bed a lot of the doubts and concerns voiced by some on his appointment. He seems to have a clear view of whats needed going forward and some of the changes in the pipeline sound very encouraging. His enthusiasm for the job and love of the club also come shining through. Good job guys. Very impressed.

Went for Watt. Had a shaky start but grew into the game and given the circumstances performed very well. Thought Thomas was excellent when he came on but he only played 20 minutes so Watt gets the nod for me.

Another small step on the road to recovery but also a reminder how slim the margins are between success and failure in this league.

Ainsworth. Purely on his first half performance and his brief flurry at the end. McManus would be my next choice as he was the pick of the defenders 2nd half.

Has Freedman been interviewed? I've scrolled back a few pages and cant see mention of him. Id be quite happy with that although Van der Gaag is somewhat intriguing. Either could totally blow up in our face of course!

The diminutive Twardzik gets my vote as well.....

Really good first half. Best this season. Rode our luck a little but still think we deserved to be ahead at break. Thought we were hard done by when Thomson shat red carding their defender when Sutton was through on goal and although we cant say it cost us the game, these things can be crucial. No arguing Utd were the better team second half. Losing Lawson hurt us as did the poor substitutions so over the piece no real arguments. Plenty to be positive about going forward into the league games.

I will be coming up for this. Its the Scottish Cup FFS and the gate price is deserving of a decent turnout. Yes we have been shite so far this season and if the game goes to form they should pummell us, but we all thought the same about the league game and it never happened. The team need us. The club needs the finance. Get yer arse to this game and show what supporting our team is all about. We NEED to win this. I dont care if we win ugly. Lets just win. COYW!

A number of great performances tonight mainly due to grit hunger and determination. Went for Lasley. Real captains performance tonight after what has been a really disappointing season by his standards.

Hunger and desire all over the pitch. You have to ask, where has that team been all season? Fair enough, apart from Reid, everyone was played in a more or less natural position,and you anticipate a response after the manager resigns, however..... Still not perfect but a massive improvement on previous weeks and an amazing 3 points against the team top of the league. Onwards and upwards.

Given the perilous state of our finances, the cup always matters.

I have a mate who is a Palace fan. He says Dougie Freedman did a great job on a tight budget and brought lots of young players through. He credits him as being a significant influence in their rise to the Premiership. Sounds like the kinda guy we are looking for.

Sad to see Stuart McCall go but given our recent results and total lack of form its probably for the best. I think it says a lot about his integrity that he walked rather than hang around for a pay off. His record as Motherwell manager is unparalleled in my lifetime and he has given me many of my favourite Motherwell memories. I wish him all the best for the future and hope that in the current financial climate we can attract another manager that can get us out of this mess. All the best Stuart.

Fraser Kerr. Pretty solid performance at RB and made some decent runs going forward. Jack Leitch was the best of the rest.

I have family coming up from Leeds this weekend. I will be going to the game but my 8 year old nephew will be in tow so I will be restricted as to where I can go. Happy to meet in the Park Hotel about 2pm if anyone is up for it.

Id bite your hand off to get Henrik back even if it is only on loan. If he's frozen out at Legia then I see no reason he wouldnt want to come back. Not sure how the finances would work or if Legia would be interested in doing a deal but its no more fantastic than the thought of Faddy coming back and we know how that panned out. Think we might need to win on Thursday night to finance it though.
