  1. Like the home kit but the away kit is poor. If they had gone with a white version of the home kit with c&a trim it would have been the berries. Trick missed.
  2. Still no takers for carpool. Anyone getting the megabus from Glasgow?
  3. Vigurs has finished strongly and is clearly the best footballer in our team, however, it took him a long time to get going. Sutton has his critics and could be considered to be somewhat limited in what ge can do, but he gives his all every game and his goals return means we have barely missed Higdon. However, my player of the season for shear endeavour and consistency of performance is the housewives favourite Captain Keef Lasley.
  4. Having to drive up to Aberdeen on Sunday as public transport doesnt start early enough to get there on time. Looking for someone to share the journey /fuel costs with. Will be leaving Irvine around 7am. Any takers?
  5. Which takes me back to my second point. Why not just put Anier on instead of changing the whole shape of the team?
  6. Thought it was between Lasley and Sutton. Went for Las as Big John was isolated for large parts of 2nd half, albeit through no fault of his own.
  7. That was hard going in the 2nd half. Not sure what the McFadden sub was all about. Bit early to be shutting up shop at 2-0 and given they scored as we were preparing the swap it would have been easy for McCall to change his mind. If McFadden was injured why not just go like for like and put Anier on? After that Sutton was getting no support so the ball just kept bouncing back. No surprise when the second set of subs were made we started to get back up the park more. I thought we had established that big handsome cant play the lone striker role. Made things much more difficult for ourselves than was necessary I thought. Anyway, we got there in the end. Hope the players arent carrying too many knocks and we can give it a right good go on Sunday. Just need to make sure my alarm clocks working!
  8. Well done Stuart McCall and the team. Marvellous achievement. Nothing to lose now. Lets get 2nd!
  9. Thats a keeper. Absolutely timeless.
  10. Randolph Ramsden Hutchinson McManus Hammell Ainsworth Lasley Vigurs Murphy Higdon Ojamaa Subs: Hollis Reid Law McFadden Sutton Humphrey Anier
  11. Think he has done very well at right back. Committed no nonsense player with a great engine. Can play a number of positions and is a good crosser of the ball when he gets forward. More than happy to sign him on for next year. If he has been playing for next to nothing then he deserves it even more.
  12. Great servant to the club. Its a shame he has hit a glass ceiling with us in terms of development. The time is right for him to move on to a bigger club with the structure and resources that will allow him to become the player we all hope he can be. Hope his agent is smart enough to know thats not SEVCO. All the best Hutch. Its been a blast.
  13. Vigurs. The boy is a lovely football player. If he can improve on the defensive side of his game and we can get players to make the right runs more often in front of him he could be devestating for us.
  14. Mmm. Not sure what to make of that. I wasnt able to make a commitment to WS initially because of the cost of the initial outlay. However, with the offer of the monthly payment scheme I decided to take up a membership. I had hoped others would be similarly encouraged and we could have seen the scheme kick on. Be interesting to see how this develops.
  15. Voted for Hammell. Thought he was solid for the most part although left horribly exposed at times due to the imbalance in midfield. Slightly clouded judgement due to it being his 500th cap and no one actually excelling.
  16. Top 6 is success for a club our size. Anything else is a bonus. A run in either cup would be nice. What we have experienced in the last 5 years should be beyond our wildest dreams. Love to make the Europa League group stages right enough......
  17. Normally I would be first to defend the gaffer but I thought he got the formation and shape all wrong today. We have shipped goals against Utd recently so expected we would line up similar to the Celtic game with maybe Las coming back into the centre and Vigurs going to the left instead of Zaine. Instead we got a lopsided formation with Leitch and Kerr looking very uncomfortable in the wide areas That said, I thought we started the game brightly but it was clear from early on were too open at the back and no surprise when we were carved open so easily. 2nd half I thought we started well again and if Las or Ainsworth convert then its a different game but they didnt and the inevitable happened. I dont accept the players werent up for it. If the tactics are not right it can look like that as everyone is being pulled around all over the park. A disappointing day given what was at stake, not to mention Hammys 500th appeaeance and a decent away support. Just have to dust ourselves down and get back up for the last 3 games. With Aberdeens failure to convert again 2nd is still very much up for grabs.
  18. Been really impressed with him. Solid right back with some decent pace going forward. Didnt look out of place in midfield on Saturday either. Good enough for our level I would say. If Hutch goes Id be more than happy to keep him on and move Ramsden back into the middle.
  19. Stokes goal is clearly a cross to the back post. He had 2 defenders right in front of him. No way he is trying to score from there. As for the penalty. Vigurs does stick his leg out, and there is contact, but the view from behind the goal is the most telling. You can see he is already on his way down and makes the contact himself rather than Vigurs taking him out. Unfortunately for us the ref doesnt get that view so I can understand why he was taken in by it. Sweet save though!
  20. They highlighted that on Sky as well. Quite a statistic. Exalted company indeed!

Difficult to pick this week as everyone played their part. Gunnar was solid and had great pen save. Vigurs was composed and gave us a cutting edge. Sutton put in a huge shift and got 2 goals. Anier gave their back 4 problems with his running all day. However, given his age and the fact he matched Scott Brown yard for yard, playing some lovely football, not to mention the Zidane turn, it has to be Jack Leitch. Take a bow son. Great performance.
  22. Great battling performance from a severely depleted side. Now only 1 win away from beating last seasons total after a total rebuild and injury ravaged season. Utterly remarkable. McCall should get the freedom of Lanarkshire. That performance will have done the confidence the world of good. If we could get just 1 or 2 players back fit we will be looking good for the run in. United next week looks huge now!
  23. The injury crisis shows no signs of easing up and with Las suspended it could be a tough day at the office. Will be watching on tv on holiday but more in hope than expectation. COYW!
  24. As usual Andy P is the voice of reason and calls it right. We have many frailties as a team. We all know what they are but it is unrealistic to expect anything different on our budget. We have a small threadbare squad on its arse with injuries at the minute and guys playing through the pain barrier to get a team on the park. Taking that all into account I thought our performance was good yesterday. St Mirren didnt create many real problems for us from open play yesterday especially in the first half. Set plays were a problem, but given Hutch is so influential for us there and called off so late, its no shocker. For all we didnt dominate the game, we created far more clear cut chances than they did and we could have had the game finished in the first half at 2-0 then again in the second half at 2-1 with Ainsworth and Moore. Had we done so, we wouldnt be talking about Brines, but we didnt and we are. Goodwin should've walked. Danny Lennon clearly agreed given he substituted him directly after to ensure he didnt give Brines another opportunity. There was a clear foul in the lead up to the penalty when a St Mirren player took one of out guys out in mid air right in front of Brines. The handball decision is a joke. Then there's Wyldes kick at Vigurs on the touchline which is a straight red these days. So, while we had many deficiencies on the day, we still deserved to win the game and would have without the intervention of the man in black. Interestingly, I barely noticed Euan Norris in the first half which in itself speaks volumes. Given all of that, Im delighted that our manager has come out so strongly in defence of our club. If he hadnt Im sure he would have been roundly criticised on here for staying silent. Yesterday was a sore one, however, with 2 weeks rest, hopefully we can clear the injury list a bit and get ready for what promises to be an exciting run in.
  25. Whoever is responsible. Lovin their work! The St Mirren one today is a belter!
