  1. Cant say Im overly excited about the appointment but none of the candidates we know about would have carried unanimous support. Hopefully he can get some quick results and the support will rally round him.
  2. This is painful. Cant wait for it to be over.....
  3. Simo was a better than average player for us. He would stroll into the current team. That of course is no guide to what kind of manager he would be. I agree he would be a risky appointment but if he is the best candidate then he should get the job. Robinson has no track record in management at all. The only pro's for him is we know him a bit better.
  4. Sorry mate. Wasnt doubting you. Been nightshift so got my days confused!
  5. Well COB has come and gone with no announcement. Does that mean the Robinson chat is a load of pish?
  6. My mistake. Hard to keep up now that we change managers so regularly! Still been without a club for a year. Not criticising the guy for being out of work but curious as to why no one else has taken a chance on him. I suppose its a moot point. If he was in work he wouldnt be interested in joining us. If indeed he is interested at all this time round.
  7. I quite fancied Dougie Freedman last time round as he was an up and coming young coach with championship level experience who appeared to be doing a decent job bringing through young players. My concern this time round is that he hadnt had another gig since then which raises the question why?
  8. I agree with some of that Andy. However, if we are running the Society now as a pledge scheme with people making monthly contributions then I think its essential the club and Society are 100% transparent with members as to whats happening with our money. Im happy to contribute as long as the club is being run prudently and we are living within our means. However, Im not throwing money into a bottomless pit for the board or our manager to piss against the wall. Our signing policy over the last 2 years has been shambolic. There needs to be some accountability on the part of the club to encourage fans that their money is being used wisely.
  9. Id bite your hand off for Alex Neil. The first name mentioned thats really got me excited. He may well be out of our reach but we should certainly be asking the question! Fits the profile perfectly. Young forward looking manager with a knowledge of the Scottish game and a track record in developing young talent. Get on the phone Flow!
  10. Can we just fast forward to Tuesday?
  11. Cheers Jay. Answers many of the questions raised. Although not sure it totally clears up some of our concerns. Still, any improvement in communication is a huge step forward....
  12. With Moult out Bowman has to start. With all the injuries and an inexperienced team we are likely to be camped in our own half for large periods. At least Bowman and Skippy up front gives us an out ball. And lets face it, we've hardly been averse to hoofball this season. 2 banks of 4. Limit the space for them to play. Get up the park where we can. Limit the damage and hopefully have a few back for the games that matter. Apologies to anyone actually travelling to see this!
  13. Good to hear Jay. Expect lots of correspondence in the months to come!
  14. I'd love it to be Joe Jordan for no other reason than he was one of my childhood heroes! Big name, local boy, plenty of top level coaching experience. My only reservation is that he has never been a number 1 since his spell at Hearts. Is that too long off the managerial merry-go-round?
  15. Not claiming it to be representative or even that I agree mate. Just offering an opinion. I dont have any inside knowledge so I could be totally wrong but if there had been a Well Society board meeting in advance of the club board meeting I dont suspect they would be having another one tonight?
  16. I would presume that they will have consulted the Society's representative on the clubs board rather than the whole Society Board. Hasnt really been time for anything else given how quickly they moved.
  17. Cheers Jay, You are probably right about tonight. I would imagine there will only be one topic of discussion! I really hope you dont turn out to be the lone voice for change, however, if you do, then you just need to keep us informed. Its our society and our club. If members wont represent us then we can always vote for ones that will! Looking forward to seeing how this plays out. #oneofus4allofus
  18. I had assumed when we signed Jules on loan then he was going to be a step up in class from our own young players. I know its early days and he may get better, but if we are taking a risk on a young player Id rather we developed one of our own rather than another clubs given that only one of those options is likely to make us any money. If Tait is fit, play McMillan at left back. He hasnt let us down there.
  19. Hi Jay, I'd like to know if the money being pledged to the society is still ring fenced and only being given to the club when required as a loan and being repayed to the society when available. I was one of the original members but hadnt signed up to pledge any more money until Les' double your money offer. Happy to do this short term as I see the benefit for the club. But it would be nice to have some re-assurance that our cash isnt disappearing into the club never to be seen again. Prudent budgeting and accountability have to be part of the model going forward if fan ownership is to be sustainable. All the best.
  20. It was inevitable. Hopefully we can now get more positivity coming from the stands. Now the players have no excuse. Its down to them now to keep us up and show they deserve to be in the premiership.
  21. Wasnt a huge fan of McGhee coming back but was willing to give him a chance and after last season genuinely felt he would turn it around this season. I reasoned that he was an experienced manager who had been reasonably successful and we were unlikely to get anyone better. Whilst I still think the last part is true I no longer think he has it in him to keep us up. He has to go if only to see if someone else can get anymore out of the squad. Unfortunately I fear bringing a new manager in and offering a new contract isnt going to be financially viable in long term due to the fact that if we fail and get relegated we will have to re-assess our business plan which wont include paying a manager premiership wages. With that in mind Id give the job to Craigan in the interim with Robinson as assistant (sorry but I just dont see Robinson getting a reaction out of this squad). Crags would have the support of the fans. He has the respect of the senior pros and he is tough enough to give the younger ones the boot up the arse some of them need. Once we know what league we are playing in next season we can look at it again.

  23. Havent listened for a few weeks. Good episode. Pretty balanced coverage of the McGhee situation and some interesting thoughts on Robinsons return. Could we be looking at a Robinson / Craigan partnership next season? Probably needs its own thread!
  24. I think if the referee missed the tackle and didnt deal with it the compliance officer could intervene retrospectively. However, he saw it and adjuged it a yellow card so not sure that they can now. It would effectively be criticising their own ref, which managers and players have to tred carefully around.
