Attack, Attack, Attack Attack Attack!
-
Good to hear this response from the dressing room. Hope we get a reaction on Saturday. He's wrong about the pen tho. Wasnt sure at the game but on the tv evidence we can have no complaints.
-
I must have been sitting near you! I remember that or something very similar. Funny as f***! Well, I think it was spposed to be.......

Sorry sbmfc, usually agree with most of your posts but I thought Clancy was trying too hard at times. He rode his luck with a lot of his tackles and I thought he was going to pick up a red at one point. Didnt think his distribution was great either. Too many Craigan World Cup balls when a wee pass to Jennings/Carswell would have done. Looked like the Killie fans and one or two of the players had got under his skin. Shame cause I think he has had a good season for us and has surprised me with his quality. Hope he has saved his best for this week!

Our over reliance on long balls to Higdon is becoming embarrassing. We appear to have stopped trying to play football of any sort. It was clear before half time that he and Ojamma were having stinkers, Ojamma even changed his boots! Also, I like Clancy, but he needs to stop playing the Stephen Craigan ball! With Humphrey starting to hit a bit of form we need to mix it up a bit and to get back to playing slick passing football.
-
Thought Humphrey was our best player by a distance yesterday. Why we didnt get the ball to him at every opportunity when it was clear all around were having howlers is beyond me.

He made my list!

Couldnt believe it when I saw the news today and realised how long it had been since Coops passing. A truly exceptional talent and possibly the greatest talent I have ever witnessed in a Motherwell shirt. The joy on his face as he lifted the Cup in '91 spoke a thousand words. Safe to say only Faddy has got anywhere close in the years since. Will we ever see his likes again. RIP Coop. A gentleman and Motherwell Great!

Champions League Qualifiers Or Winning The League Cup?
joewarkfanclub replied to David's topic in Club Chat
We have won all Scotlands major trophies, but never graced europes top competition and are ulikely to ever have the opportunity again. To do it in my lifetime and have the opportunity to attend......well, its a no brainer. -
I like Kenny Shiels. I think he is good value and adds a bit of colour to our game. Bit mental in the Ivan Golac style, but I'd take that over the usual 'it was a game of 2halfs' pish you normally get. Really looking forward to tomorrow. 15 mins on the bus to an away game a few beers in the Portmann and cheering the Well on into 2nd place......hopefully!

'rebel 10' Have Requested A Meeting Of The Spl On April 12Th
joewarkfanclub replied to Ocelot Groomin''s topic in Club Chat
This. We all know there are too many ruling bodies in Scottish Football. Disband the SPL and merge the SFA and SFL. One ruling body running things for the good of the game not for the benefit of a couple of very large parasites. I support the rebel ten. -
'rebel 10' Have Requested A Meeting Of The Spl On April 12Th

'Rebel - participant in a rebellion. Rebellion - refusal of obedience or order aimed at destroying or replacing an established order' More than happy to be called a rebel on that definition. Hail Hail the revolution! Lol! -
That B team would do some damage, never mind your A team! We really were spoiled late 80's / early 90's!
-
Well done Killie. Hopefully get a bumper away support for this one given the timing and importance of it. Virtually a home game for me so a no brainer. Any idea what the vibe is about how many are intending to travel?

How did Ken Dodds song go.... We are the diddy teams The diddy teams The diddy teams We are the diddy teams We hate the Old Firm

That £900k difference for second place would meam such a huge difference to our prospects next season. We must do everything in our power to get it. Fairly sure the manager and Chief Executive will have discussed this at length! Not to mention it will also be £900k less in Rangers coffers. A £1.8 mill difference between us and them next season would be huge......if they're still in the league!

yAlways think thats a tough one as you are kind of limited to the players you have had the privelege of actually seeing. No doubt players like George Stevenston Willie McFadyen Hughie Ferguson Wilson Humphries Willie Redpath Bobby Ferrier Charlie Aitken Andy Paton Ian St John deserve their place in history a no bad team from the greatest players I have actually seen would be Sieb Dykstra Luc Nijholt Chris McCart Brian Martin Joe Wark Bobby Russell Paul Lambert Colin O'Neill Davy Cooper Bobby Graham Wullie Pettigrew Subs Ally Maxwell Stevie Hammell Fraser Wishart James McFadden Tommy Coyne Dougie Arnott Phil O'Donnell Brian McClair (2nd stint excluded!) Johnny Gahagan can always argue that a lot of the players listed didnt play their best football at Fir Park, however I think the ones I have listed all made a lasting impact. Unfortunately, at the moment, only Stevie Hammell would do this and thats mainly due to number of appearances and consistency in a time where such qualities are so rare.

I submit!

That is your opinion to which you are entitled and one which I would never deem to call ridiculous. Stuart McCall has kept Higdon on the field of play on a number of occasions for his defensive qualities at set pieces, so given our current plight I didnt think it was such a stretch to suggest he might go down that route this week. Ideal, no, but its a desperate situation. Clearly you disagree. Thankfully it looks like we will never have to find out as it looks like Cummins is going to play. Still a risk with a young player alongside another one so inexperienced but if the manager thinks he's up to it, great. Dont want to see the big man dropped but if thats the case and we go 4-5-1 then he surely has to start on the bench.
-
To suggest Higdon can play CH is no more ridiculous than suggesting he cant. As far as Im aware he has never played there so no one really knows. Similarly with Jennings, although he is a good reader of the game, the height advantage given away to the land of giants would leave us with real problems at set pieces. The only reason I suggested Higdon was that I have no knowledge of the U19s and I really dont fancy Higdon up top in a 4-5-1 as I think we have established that doesnt work and we HAVE to match them up in midfield this time after sundays performance. The Cummins story sounds encouraging, dont know the boy but hopefully he will come in and have a stormer. Its all about opinions......

---------------Randolph---------- Hately---Higdon---Page---Hammell -------Jennings-------Carswell----- Humphrey------Law-------Daley -----------------Ojamaa--------- Lets just run rings round them. Attack is the best form of defence......especially when your defence is fecked!

Spot on. Back to the future. Greed is not good!

Motherwell Vs Aberdeen Cup Game Discussion Thread
joewarkfanclub replied to David's topic in Club Chat
Their 3 in midfield bossed our 2, hence we couldnt get them in the game and resorted to humping long balls. Broon got his tactics right. McCall shouldve changed it early doors. -
This is gonna be a huge test. Not only do we have the CH issue, we need to find a way to combat their height and our lack of, otherwise we will get another roasting at set peices. Dont suppose there are any u19's that are 6'5"? Also if Broon lines up the same way again we need to match up his 3 in midfield. How we do all that and maintain a level of performance I have no idea. Good luck Stuart!

Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?
joewarkfanclub replied to David's topic in Club Chat
Lasley is not a dirty player, however, he is beginning to build up a bit of a rap sheet with late/mistimed tackles. His red yesterday was thoroughly deservedbut no-one will know that more than him. I see he has apologised to Fyvie on twitter. A personal apology would be a nice touch also. 'Keef' seems like a good lad, but he needs to stay on his feet otherwise we can look forward to lots more games without him.
