I dont care where Motherwell finish in an 8x8x8 set up. My objection to it is that it is a ludicrous system that will do nothing to advance the prospects of Scottish football. Maybe St Mirren are being selfish in that respect but at least they are in line with the views of the paying customer. My understanding is that Motherwell are broadly in line with those views but are buying into this all or nothing nonsense. Why cant we have the bits everyone likes and jettison this nonsense? No-one wants to answer that question.

Im kinda hoping that Neil Lennon doesnt see him as the kind of player that would fit into his system, or that Faddy might still be pissed off at them for asking him to go for a trial last time round. Wouldnt want to see his status as a Well Legend tarnished by going there. Just say no James!

Well done St Mirren. A well thought out response that echos the thoughts of many fans. Here's hoping that after the meeting on Thursday our club will be in a position to be equally principled. This should never have been a take it or leave it proposal. That just smacks of the bullyboy tactics employed to try and shoehorn Rangers back into the SPL last year. Didnt work then and shouldnt work now. Give us the one body. Give us the financial re-structuring. Give us the change in voting system. The league re-structuring talks can continue through the summer so by the start of next season everyone knows what they are paying and playing for. Or is that too sensible?

I would probably agree with you. I do think ZFA looks like he could cover in a number of positions for us though. A player like that will be worth their weight in gold given how small our future squads are going to be.

4 points guarantees Europa League as long as 3 of them are against St Johnstone! I think 62 points will be enough for second place. Barring a total and utter collapse I would hope that is well within our grasp. Regardless. Its been a fantastic season with some amazing memories.

Like all our players ZFA has his limitations and weaknesses. If he didnt he would still be at Spurs. Thought he did fine yesterday and I think he will go on to be a very important player for us.

Long may he continue to not run and jump. As long as he does the other thing..........

We played some excellent football today. Just frustrating that we didnt convert more of the chances we created. Faddy was a class apart again and his goal was a brammer. Should have won the game but just really glad we didnt lose it. That would have been an injustice.

I cant believe anyone didnt think that was a great game of football today? Thought we played some great stuff and if we had taken our chances we could gave scored 7/8 easily. MoM was James McFadden. His touch and close control was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch. Worth the admission fee alone and his goal was a topper.

Imagine how exciting it would have been if we hadnt thrown away so many silly points earlier in the season. Looking at where Celtic are right now I genuinely feel this season is likely to be viewed in retrospect as an opportunity missed.

Would love to keep them waiting as long as possible. Another reason Saturday is a must win for me.

Given that Ross County are already 8 points back and that 3rd qualifies us for Europe, Saturdays game is huge for us. If we could win it, it would leave the other 3 teams with a helluva lot to do to reel us back in. Desperately want 2nd spot but one thing at a time.

Hateleys corners and free kicks HAVE been gash this season though! And Im one of those that defends his overall contribution. Great result today though. Keeps the pressure on all the other teams to match what we are doing.

The suggestion was made on Tam Cowans show. He is compering the Hammell Testimonial. Figured he had the inside track on the story.

Not worried mate. Suggestion on the radio was that it had been stage managed to help with the testimonial (although Im not quite sure how that would help?). Pretty certain he will sign and when he does I think some of our bigger players will do too. There will inevitably be one or two departures but I dont think it will end up being the mass clearout some fear. Times maybe tough but you still cant buy happiness!

Suggestions on Off the Ball at the weekend that the gaffer is going to sign his contract at Hammells testimonial dinner. Once we get that one out the way Im sure more will follow. Top 6 guaranteed. Good chance of Europa League football and the chance to stay and play first team football at a family club where everyone appears to enjoy their work. Think it would take pretty serious money to tempt some of our players away.
