Pleased for Grimmy. Was a really decent pro and a genuinely nice lad. Obviously still in the championship, but at a bigger club with a real chance of coming back up to the Premiership. Should benefit him financially and career wise.

You dont get to decide what or when I post. Same as you dont get to decide what I said in previous posts. Ive never said KVV was lazy or a no user, but please, continue to make things up if it makes you happy..... You might want to go read your post back though not sure Kev would be happy about you describing him as "temporary"........

I tried to ignore your trolling earlier, but seems you just cant help yourself. Read what I typed above. Then what I didnt type. None of it is in contradiction to my thoughts at the time. Many shared those thoughts. Its possible to think that someone is a very good player whilst simultaneously thinking they could also do more. But you dont do nuance. Just petty point scoring and desperate trolling. Hope this reply makes you feel good about yourself.

A player with undoubted technical ability who was a joy to watch when in full flow. Thoroughly deserves his big move. Really hope he is a success at Groningen and finishes his career on a high.

Max Johnston has no questions to answer. He is out of contract and can sign for whoever he wishes. We just need to accept the development fee and move on. His situation is similar to Hastie who maximised his potential by cashing in when he was hot. Just chose the wrong club to continue to develop himself. Cadden was worse imho, as his agent got him to sign for a US club with links to the club that actually wanted him so they didnt have to pay the development fee, then immediately loaned him to said club. That was poor. It wasnt going to be big money, but it was a lot to a club like ours. As for Danzaki, he signed for a manager who immediately got canned and then he got injured. Not sure what evidence there is to suggest whether he will be a success one way or another. But he at least deserves a chance to show what he can do. Tierney has ability, but whether he has the physicality to thrive in the Scottish game remains to be seen, as does whether he can fit into a Kettlewell team. Good luck to Jake and the other players leaving. Hope they are able to find new clubs at a level they can compete at.
-
Given that Deano is a 'Well fan, his leaving can only mean that he has better offers elsewhere. Otherwise why leave? The only other reason would be that SK has told him he isnt part of his plans. But given the level we operate at and the game time he has had, I dont really see that being the case. Wish him well regardless.

Oh undoubtedly. Those numbers are not great. Even for a would be battering ram. Id expect my attacking midfielders to be returning better on the whole.
-
His jobs not to be KVV though. He is more Ryan Bowman or Obika. Our problem was that Robbo thought he was Louis Moult!
-
Been to East Fife and QoS. Elgin and Queens Park please!
-
Blaney has only had a handful of games. Far too early to be calling time on his Motherwell career. Let him get a full pre season under Kettlewell and see where he is by xmas.
-
The question is why you would even want to replace Cornelius on our budget. The boy is Motherwell thru and thru. If he is the kinda player you need you keep him. If he isnt, move him on. But dont replace him. Thats a bit mad. I agree re Goss. Kettlewell is getting the best out of him. But he is a different kind of player and shouldnt be an either/or with Cornelius.
-
Of the players out of contract I would only be offering new contracts to Max, Casey, Deano and Goss. Id also be trying very hard to get Furlong back and potentially Obika depending on what happens with KVV or whoever his replacement is going to be. After that its seeing if there is any interest from other clubs for players that have been told they are likely to be squad players, so if you want regular games get your agent busy. Players like McGinley, Lamie, Mugabi and Sheilds probably fit into that category. Be interesting to see what happens to Tierney, Danzaki and Efford. All potentially have something to offer, but not in a 3-5-2 if thats what we stick to. Kettlewell has been excellent so far. His next big test starts now.......

The Rangers team we beat in the play offs clearly werent the standard of the teams of the past or that they have had since. However, it was a team that still cost way more money to put together than we could afford at the time and they were still playing in front of 50k of their own fans. Beating them 3-1 at their place shouldnt be talked down. It was still a hell of an achievment and a thoroughly satisfying night out!

Re the club statement, it really doesnt tell us anything we didnt know other than Morris has been freed. Who will stay and who will go still seems subject to conjecture. Hopefully the picture will become clearer soon.
-
Newspaper gossip that Torino are interested in Max Johnston. That would be some move for him. Given the increasing number of Scots going over there, it seems to be a bit of a trend!
-
I would imagine Kettlewell will be looking to offload a lot of the unconctracted players and as many of the contracted ones, that he doesnt fancy, as he can. What business we do will probably depend on how successful he can be in that regard.
-
Fletcher and and a fit Louis Moult would be pretty exciting. But it would come with all the usual caveats and probably not the model the club are going to follow.....
-
Fletcher would have been a great foil for KVV. If Kevs away, Fletcher isnt what we need, even though I really rate him as a player. As KMc says, his goal return isnt enough for the money he would command. As a club we need to get back to getting value for money and invest in players we can move on to a higher level after a couple of seasons and bring in some much needed revenue. Thats why we wont be standing in Kevs way if a half decent offer comes in.

Despite being one of his more vocal critics thru the winter period, Im surprised KVV only won 7 MOTM awards. Outnof 38 games I would have expected more than that. Also surprised Spittal doesnt even rate a mention. I guess the awards must have been shared widely througout the squad..... PS. Well done Weeyin! Someone has to take responsibility for these things so its nice to be appreciated!
-
This is correct. 2 totally different incidents. Mugabi goes up to head the ball. Fletcher pushes him in the back. The ball is behind Mugabi who cant see it and it strikes him on the upper arm. There is no movement to the ball. He was jumping for the ball so his arm is in a totally natural position. Its never a penalty in a million years. All 3 Sportscene pundits agreed. The hand ball rule is broken.
-
Aye saw Sportscene. Defo offside. Wasnt that obvious at the game. Spittal must be really quick! 😆
-
Furlong and McGinn had very good games. Kelly had a very good first half but had little to do seconf half. KVV got his goal and had some great runs. Max had a great last 30 mins. But our MOTM by a distance today is Blair Spittal. How some of our fans cant see his quality is beyond me.
-
It was Collum. But McLean can still over rule him.

Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable day at the fitba! Well, the second half at least! Great early start with KVV getting the 11 in a row, but after that we regressed and allowed United to dominate the possession and eventually the chances. Would need to see the pen again, but didnt think Bevis did too much wrong and Fletcher certainly never claimed for it. However, we can hardly complain as they missed a barrowload of chances and Kelly pretty much kept us in it to half time. Second half started poorly and their 2nd goal is far too easy. We were cut open like a hot knife through butter. Pretty much shows on its own the importance of us keeping on Butcher and Casey! After that though I thought we were brilliant. The subs helped with more urgency in our play and we created more than enough chances to deserve to win the game handsomely, even taking into account our poor first half. Need to see the disallowed goal again, was hard to see much wrong with it but there was so much going on it was difficult to tell. Nice that Max got the 3rd to make up for it, and from his celebrarions he definitely looks like he is away. On Kev. Great to get the 11. Should have had the 30 when Goss had a simple 5 yard pass to him for a tap in and somehow played it behind him. And the Slattery free kick? I know he scored a perler at Kilmarnock but if Im KVV theres no way he is hitting that! All in all, a satisfying close to the season. Big changes in the summer and Kettlewell will have to prove himself all over again by re-shaping this squad in his own image and hopefully maintaining the performance and consistency levels since he came in.

That would be sweet! Karma paying him back for giving Moult that pen at Tynecastle!
