  1. Halcyon days indeed, him and his good lady were regulars in The Dalziel Arms given the friendship with the landlord. Some fine post match evenings were had. Knew his end was near given he told us "I've made my money, not looking for a big payday, but, Mr Boyle and the little fella (Nevin) reckon I'm a yard off the pace, funny that - they're replacing me with a younger Greg Strong on double the money I'm on and a yard slower than me!" It's a funny old game right enough.
  2. Eh? It was a naughty one alright... Had it been vice versa he of Treacle Teeth would be apoplectic!
  3. My theory? May have read differently, but, not the point I was trying to make at all and definitely nothing to suit your penchant for pedantry. My point has been described a little more succinctly by something else above. I'd wager my opinion may be a little more informed given I've spoken to some of the lads involved and knowing and conversing with their parents. Mock outrage? Tsk.
  4. St Johnstone's McDiarmid Park has a lot of third party usage that many others do not, helping to balance their books somewhat against poorer crowd attendances.
  5. No second guessing or conjecture... local lads had had enough intimidation that night. Result? Given the wanton vandalism and destruction with listed likely perpetrators (their horrible club have all details, suspending some, relocating others) off scot free whilst those at policescotland who were unprepared and caught out single out the minority. Justifying the exorbitant overtime rates - go on, tell us how lucky some are to be paying 40% tax for the privilege!
  6. Not the point I was making, I suspect you knew that. Reference was made to £24 entry... Not ideal I know, but, I just found non attendance by some because of the price of a pint differing price from most other away fixtures a little silly. On the other hand, where does it stop? Some kind souls need to fight the good fight - shame the clubs don' t pay heed. Got everything you mention and then some, not privileged, just choose football to be further up my list of priorities. Given current economic conditions, fully understand those who don't attend - I'd wager it has nothing to do with the slight increase. £18 for a concession tomorrow is poor fare also.
  7. Not that I agree with the price range, but, non attendance due to what is a difference of £2/£4 on most other aways? Bit nonsensical that is it not? Even for those on tighter budgets, hardly likely to lead to banruptcy.
  8. Hopefully in sunnier climes as some of us are in need of a holiday
  9. Only so daddy can keep an eye on you and make sure you don't make it home in just yer stocking soles Shoes off! for the Motherwell was penned for you!
  10. Cat right out the bag with that one
  11. Pat his shants most probably... Mitch has confirmed you fight with feather packed gloves and are not very good anyroads
  12. Been turning in regular man of the match displays of late & couldn't get enough of him when I was down the weekend before Christmas. Dropped for the New Years Day fixture, the talk was confirmation of Hibs interest... Knocked back a match ticket & travel today. Hindsight is a great thing.
  13. Shame that. One of the best away days in the top flight. Would rather be heading there than Paisley or Kilmarnock.
  14. Extreme? So 6 times the average rainfall isn't in the extreme? YOUR contradiction lost on you? Doesn't have to be monsoon material...
  15. Doubt it, given forecast. Unlucky, we move on.
  16. Not what covers are best utilised for. Where would you expect the surface water to disperse to?
  17. Best performance in a Blades shirt yesterday according to texts from friends and family. Man of the match and not for the first time in recent weeks.
  18. We tend to struggle at Firhill? Deary me, history books require to be dusted down to see when we were last there! Thistle as the home team will be expected to carry the game to us, leaving the gaps we can expose... Apply themselves as they have done recently and we can continue into the new year as best of the rest.
  19. Eh? Not quite getting you there? Well, apart from your creepy behaviour... Far from happy clappy, also far from the pissy panted. Talk of getting McCall out was/is crass & I plead not guilty your honour. Back on topic, a big up to the squad who were hurting and have shown progress in recent weeks in the face of varying degrees of criticism. As I mentioned elsewhere, doft my Barbour cap to those who made the journey yesterday. Great feeling on the return from Ross County, I'd wager yesterday would be oh so sweeter.
  20. Answers on a postcard who that was...
  21. Your inane post is based on conjecture! Nobody denied there was damage at Douglas Park so not quite getting your question on an anti-Motherwell agenda? I know best? Well, working from an informed position given I was there, I'd agree. No better and no worse than anybody else (minus the usual sycophants) who follows the team so you can cut the legend chat out.
  22. Wind your neck in, you could at least have told the truth. A claim of 'ripped up seats' is bad enough. Then the 'jumped by a group of Well fans'?
  23. The Dutch fella was trying to swap shirts with Hutchison before the end of the match... touch of the Kris Boyd about it, given the ref had stopped play before the opposition player headed into the net, thus, no goal disallowed.
