  1. If watt does leave,I would like to see us bring in a couple of strikers, one to replace him and another just to give us an extra option until the end of the season.im almost certain shaw is an upgrade on crawford and if we can add something to the forward line and get a bit of luck injury wise to our centre halfs then we will be in good shape for the rest of the season.
  2. Best thing for both parties, good luck to him.
  3. I agree with what your saying here.i think tierney will be introduced slowly and until donnelly can put together a solid run of games, there's always going to be doubts about his fitness.we are well stacked for midfielders as it is but it's still a bit of a problem area, for me after slattery and goss there's a place up for grabs in the team.crawford and grimshaw aren't good enough and if it wasn't for covid issues that could arise at anytime,i would be saying we should try and get rid of them this month.like I said a few posts back,I'm not a big fan of loaning old firm players but we find ourselves in a good position for the rest of the season and if alexander thinks shaw can help us push on then I'm on board with it.my only real concern would be if it was to come at the cost of cornelius getting more game time.
  4. I'm pretty sure he's a central midfielder grizzly,he's highly rated by all accounts.im not a big fan of loaning old firm players but we have a lot to play for in the second half of the season so another body in that might contribute won't be a bad thing.
  5. I don't think maguire will ever be a first team regular but he's improved a bit under alexander,he's a decent enough squad member,so keeping him on makes sense to a degree.
  6. Agreed, any deal that involves getting a player off them shouldn't be up for discussion.the way the league is shaping up there a direct rival and there's no way we can give them our top scorer and get dross that can't get a game for them in return.i still think we will sign a striker no matter what happens with watt but I can see this rumbling on to the end of the month and him moving on then.
  7. There is no players at dundee utd that will sweeten the deal, tell them cash or fuck off.
  8. So his next deal is where he feels happy but yet he's meant to be happy where he is.lets be honest you don't move to dundee utd to enhance your ability,he's going for the money, which I don't have a problem with.i hope this is resolved and we can move on as soon as.
  9. You could well be right there, maybe watts intention all along has been to stay in scotland and go with the highest offer that comes his way.he was never getting a move to old firm teams and if the edinburgh clubs or aberdeen wanted him he would have ended up at any of those.in terms of budget dundee utd are next in line so it's not real surprise they have offered him a deal that's persuaded him to go up there.
  10. I think we will sign another striker even if watt stays as i really don't think alexander will play him.squad wise I think we're in decent shape,I really like the options we have at centre back, odonnell and mcginley have upped there game recently.i still dont think we have found the perfect blend in midfield yet but goss is looking better all the time,I'm not sure how much we will see of tierney right away but he seems to be an exciting signing and one to look forward too.i would be tempted to send roberts back to hearts and bring a fresh face in but it wouldn't be the end of the world if he re-signs to the end of the season.we have put ourselves in a great position and maybe with one or two new faces, there's no reason why we can't keep our form going in the second half of the season.
  11. I'm the same,there's nobody I would be wanting off dundee it'd.
  12. I think we will sign a striker in january even if watt doesn't leave, alexander seems to be quite ruthless and I don't see him taking any chances with watt if he doesn't want to be here.if we can get watt out the door and somebody in by the morton game, that would be the ideal scenario.i can see united offering about a 100k for him, hopefully they don't waste our time by offering any old shite that can't get a game for them.
  13. It wasn't our best performance but it was all about getting the 3 points today and going into the break on a bit of a high.if we can get watts situation resolved and a replacement brought in before our next game, that would be ideal, all in all I'm delighted where we are going into the second half of the season.
  14. Aye he got injured against hibs,I'm not sure exactly what's wrong with him though.
  15. You've made some good points there.utd must have offered a big signing on fee, like they did when they got shankland and for that reason I can't see them then offering us anywhere near enough that would tempt us to sell in january.i would sell him if we got a half decent price but I think he's here to the end of the season, your last point about watts attitude is the most important thing for me as this could turn sour pretty quickly if his performances and attitude decline.i hope were looking at bringing in a striker in january to cover all bases.
  16. If he has signed a pre contract with utd,we find ourselves in a bit of a dilemma, utd won't offer us anywhere near enough that it would make sense to sell him in january and would we want him going there anyway when were basically competing with them for 4th place.this won't go down well with a large section of our supporters and we could easily have another gallagher situation on our hands, where the player down tools.
  17. If true, that's a shocking move for watt, clearly he will be earning shankland levels of money at them but as far as ambition goes,it's a total sideways move.
  18. You have to laugh at that balloon mcpake even mentioning watts name like he stands any chance of signing him.
  19. Watt won't turn a contract down from us then end up at dundee,if he stays up here it will be with aberdeen or hibs but even then I don't see it,I think he has ambitions of moving down south again.
  20. I didn't quite pick up on it at the time but that's some through ball from big sol for van veens goal.
  21. A straight forward and deserved 3 points, well done boys.
  22. I can't mind the last player that i took too so quickly after they joined us,i love the big man,he comes across a right good guy as well.
  23. I see watt is being linked with a few english championship teams today,if he was to move to any of those mentioned he would be getting more than an extra grand or two a week, there's no way he will be turning that kind of money down and let's be honest, rightly so.ive resigned myself to him leaving,as long as he doesn't end up at a hibs or aberdeen that will do me,I actually think he will have eyes on moving down south again and trying to do that move justice now that his career is in the best place it's been.
  24. Aye you would think they three would offer atleast treble what we would.i would be gutted to see him go to any of they clubs after we have pretty much helped to save his career, hopefully he has ambitions to give playing down south or abroad another go and gets the opportunity.I would love him to stay but sadly for me there is zero chance of it happening.
