In the modern game it's stupidity for a goalkeeper to be that far out,you see it all the time now where players try the long ranger if a goalie is off there line, what hendry was trying when the easy pass out wide was on but that just sums us up,not good enough and decision making all wrong.

I agree with that i would have had McGregor in the team, clarke has cost us today,I get we don't have great options up front or out wide but we should have went with two up front and went for it from the off,we have three games to get as many points as possible and we were far to negative.

As fans we share a common bond and it's always gutting to hear a fellow supporter has passed away,I didn't know andy personally but his contribution to the forum was huge,I thoroughly enjoyed reading his posts,he will be missed.RIP Andy.
  4. The last two transfer windows were a balls up,we can't afford to get it wrong again this time,we need several players good enough to get right into the team and if that takes a bit longer than usual then I'm all for it.
  5. I didn't think bringing louis back was ever really on the cards,he's made enough of a name for himself that getting a club in england was always a certainty,it's still a wee bit gutting seeing him sign for someone else though but i really hope he can stay clear of injury and it works out for him there.
  6. Cole has definitely improved as a player and i would have liked him to have stayed but strangely at the same time I'm not overly fussed he's away, without his goals last season we would have been in real bother so far that i wish him well and hope this move works out for him.
  7. Not yet but he surely can't survive much longer under his burds thumb.
  8. I mentioned him a few pages back, having seen him a couple of times this season i think he could make the step up and would even go as far to say he's better than some of the midfielders we have already.
  9. It looks like robbo will be the new morecambe manager
  10. Weve offered lafferty a deal according to sun,if true i wonder if that means cole won't be staying.
  11. Spot on,some of the comments online about dunne leaving are just nonsense, guys playing for the likes of us and st mirren are never going to be millionaires and need to grab the security of a contract with both hands when it comes, especially with his history of injury getting a 2 year deal is incredible and good luck to him.i get why we invited him back for pre season but I actually think him moving on before then is best all round,he can concentrate on his new club and we can start looking for a replacement.
  12. To get a 2 year deal at another top flight team having been injured for so long is really good going for him,he played his part in us getting to the two cup finals and for that I hope he has a bit of luck on his side and he can get his career going again.
  13. We already have donnolly,o'hara, maguire and crawford adding ross callaghan into that would be horrendous, our midfield is crying out for something different that isn't another average spl player,I get that bringing in players isn't easy but we have to replace campbell with someone that will be the main man in midfield.
  14. Absolutely brilliant,inspirational stuff

From a scotland point of view it's great that there's a young player in the squad with potential that we can hopefully get years of good service out of but patterson's time isn't now,o'donnell hasn't let us down anytime he's played for us and played his part in getting us to the euros,i fully expect him to be in the team for our first group game.
  16. Quite happy with that signing,I thought we might end up with him as a replacement for long.
  17. I've seen shields a couple of times this season and I think he would be a decent signing for us,I wouldn't be surprised if we don't keep long and replace him with shields.i would like to see us go for regan hendry at raith rovers,I think he could really make the step up,I'm not sure about his contract situation there so it might be a non starter anyway.
  18. That is some achievement by st Johnstone, they are all the things we were when we got to the two finals.there organized and play to a certain system with players that are comfortable in that system.that is something alexander will need to sort out with us,get players in that suit his style and prefered formation and anything is possible.roll on the new season.
  19. I would consider lafferty as an option should cole not stay on,he's definitely a headcase but if he's in the right frame of mind he can be an asset at this level as kilmarnock have found out.
  20. Aston villa are set to bid for turnbull according to the sun.
  21. It's taking you a whole season to come away with a half decent joke grizzly, you better get some serious work in over pre season .
  22. Totally agree, the plan should be to get any of our young boys that have been in and around the first team squad this season out on loan,I would rather they were playing competitive games than just making up the numbers for us on a match days.im getting a bit ahead of myself here but Johnstone should be seen as the longer term replacement for o'donnell and giving his young age a season or two out on loan to develop should be the plan if he's as highly rated by alexander as he mentioned earlier in the season.
  23. I hope we loan cornelius and Johnstone out next season, getting game time is what any young player needs,if there not going to get it with us then I'm sure there will be plenty of lower league clubs interested.in Johnstones case hes behind the guy that could easily be starting for us in the euros so a loan move would definitely be in his interest and there's no way cornelius can spend another season not getting a look in for someone like crawford.
  24. Even if finances weren't much of an issue,I wouldn't be keeping foley on,that's nothing against him as he's had not enough game time to show what he can really offer but having o'hara, maguire, crawford and donnolly potentially here next season,it makes for pretty grim viewing,I really hope we're looking to add someone with a bit of energy and attacking threat from the middle of the park as we simply can't go with the midfielders that we have signed up for next season.
