  1. How many times has a hibs played pull one of ours back and not got booked, fucking joke
  2. Far to easy for them in the build up to the penalty
  3. We need to get a grip of the game in the middle of the park
  4. There's nobody that really stands out for me as our captain bit it makes sense to go with o'donnell, hopefully he thrives on the responsibility, good luck to him.
  5. Some of watts best moments last season came when he was in a central position, his through ball for campbell's goal at kilmarnock and then a similar pass for roberts at easter road were both outstanding,he's wasted drifting out to the left,he's got a good footballing brain that can do damage if in the right areas, watt in behind woolery and van veen could be really interesting for us.
  6. As things stand if cornelius isnt viewed as atleast fourth choice midfielder then it's best we get him out on loan,I would rather he played every week at a lower level than maybe find himself behind the likes of crawford, who should be moved on himself as he just isn't good enough.I would like to see us bring another midfielder in but that would surely only happen if we moved a couple on.
  7. If the game was at easter road and they gave us an allocation i would have been chuffed so i can't say anything different that were letting hibs fans into the game, getting back to some kind of normality includes having away supporters and will definitely make sunday that wee bit more enjoyable, especially if we send them home miserable.while there is still restrictions in place it's impossible to get it right everytime and please everybody but hopefully were not far off where we can accommodate every motherwell supporter that wants to go to fir park without having any hassles.
  8. This has the potential to be a really good signing for us and hopefully the player that we are crying out for, happy with this one.
  9. Agreed,I wasnt overly confident about last night and i wasn't that surprised that we lost the game but for as poor as we were in the previous two games i expected better than what was on show last night.its still very much evident that some just aren't good enough,we will never do anything as long as guys like lamie and crawford are about the place.alexander has to take his share of the blame for last night too,I still can't get why he's put o'donnell straight into the team, the guy clearly and rightfully deserves a rest,if he isn't left out and we bring johnstone in on saturday then the mind will truly boggle.
  10. I see alexander is saying the players need to start taking things more "seriously",to me that's pretty concerning as we heard similar last season not just from alexander but from robinson and lasley too.
  11. I have to agree about the defence it's just not good enough and relying on mugabi coming back isn't the answer, lamie is our main centre half right now and that says it all.we need to sign a centre half and one that is being brought in to play to make us better.we need a creative player in the middle of the park and then use one of our current holding players as just that, sit in front of the centre halfs at all times and protect them and don't move, that should be there role nothing more than that, our defenders are woefully exposed in the current set up,all it takes currently is one pass and our entire midfield three is took out the game because they all run about like headless chickens, some discipline is seriously needed in the middle of the park.
  12. We didnt have the players to play 433 last season and unless we're planning on bringing in atleast two midfielders that are a lot better than what we currently have then 433 just isn't going to work.we have a midfield that contributes nothing but giving away daft free kicks and wanting to pass it sideways, they provide no protection to the defence and offer no support to the forwards.lamie improved towards the end of the season but let's be honest,he isn't good enough, going into a season with him as the main centre half is always asking for trouble.i actually think we could have a very decent front three in woolery, watt and van veen if the service to them is decent enough, yet again how many crosses into the box didn't go near one of our players or aimless punts up the park.im just glad alexander is still on the look out for players as we need them.
  13. Spot on,the glorified friendly and it's only pre season patter is just an excuse for losing to a lower league team, let's hope alexander isn't using any excuses after that.
  14. We better hope that alexander has a couple of midfielders lined up as that midfield again tonight wouldn't look out of place in the league below.
  15. It's a cup tie against our so called rivals from 2 leagues below,I'll call that embarrassed everytime
  16. Nothing short of embarrassing,it's like watching last season all all over again, clueless in midfield, long punts to nobody, fucking disgraceful.
  17. It annoys the fuck out of me that he gets a game for us,he's an absolute imposter.
  18. Agreed that's the positions we need to strengthen in,hopefully we have kept enough of our budget to see what's available down south, when clubs down there have sorted there squads out.i would happily wait until the end of the transfer windows if it means getting in some players that will make a difference.
  19. Both simply have to be replaced, neither had great seasons last time out but they were still the best options bar far,I know it's not easy getting players in but we can't afford anymore jersey fillers.
  20. Totally agree, you can get maybe having a poor first half but we look miles off the pace which is the worry for me,there's no drive from the middle of the park,it looks like the problems still persist in there from last season, there was also serious improvement needed in defence but yet we're still having to put up with lamie.
  21. We didn't have the players to play 433 last season and so far it looks like that's going to be the case again this time.
  22. I think a performance like last night is most likely to be the norm at this stage of the season, granted it would have been nice to have played better and won 3 or 4 but even then we wouldn't have learned much,we win the game got minutes into the legs and ultimately thats what matters.touching on the game though our midfield still gives me real cause for concern, that midfield last night wouldn't have looked out of place in the league below,I know we will have more options with o'hara and now donnolly but our midfield on the whole are just to static, all it takes is one pass and there all took out the game,it was the same last season,we really need to find a better balance in there,it's no great surprise that our two best bits of play last night happened when one of our midfielders actually got forward and joined in the attack, maguire helping to set the goal up then him threading a pass through for watts chance.i really hope the five players that alexander is looking to sign consists of two players that will come straight into the midfield and play and are better than what we already have.the defence worries me a bit to but less so,I think another centre half is needed, again someone that is being brought into to start is what is needed.i would be concerned if alexander had come out and said that the squad rebuild was almost done but the fact were still looking for a few is encouraging.i think when all said and done we will be just fine.
