  1. Well the fans never came up with the funds to save us the last time we were in the shit , selling the kind of assets that we simply don't have nowadays done that.

Finishing best of the rest might not be motivation but having a read at the club's published accounts over that same period or listening to what the beancounters are saying should get at least some out of their slumber.

Whether or not its total fantasy i still cant believe im reading some folk saying that they like the sounds of this Nobby Solano experiment.

Hell mend us if we do get Death by Peruvian as we had our chance to make sure MFC and its continued existence were the owners prime concerns.

  2. For all who called for him to go.

Well done we've now got ourselves in a hugely worse position.

The players never wanted him to go and I suspect think KB is useless.

    Well done.

While i agree with your sentiment entirely ...

Fuck the players , when they start performing folk will listen to what they have to say . I dont doubt that the media will be full of them this week giving it the old "we let him down , its our fault , we'll fight and turn this round" shite that they usually reserve for post cup exit interviews.

If any the wee sensitive souls are reading this - get the finger out , too many of you are stealing your wages.

  3. Interesting few months ahead. It would appear that McCall and his players are unable to paper over the of-field cracks any longer.

All anybody expects of the players is for them to do their job on the field. IF (big if) there are any off field problems they don't excuse the moronic foul by McManus putting him and the rest of the defence under pressure from more or less kick off or the individual errors leading to the goals.

Formations , tactics blah blah. With the possible exception of the keeper IMO not one of them can look in the mirror and say what they are serving up is anywhere near an acceptable performance level.

About time they stopped feeling sorry for themselves and got the f'ing finger out

  4. The same sheer ineptitude that has seen us finish 2nd in the league in consecutive years, and better our points total with each passing season?

Our cup results have been pathetic the last couple of seasons, and I'm as frustrated as the next person, but stuff like the smoke bombs, knowing that it will cost the club money, is just total bawbaggery of the highest order.

Genuine question as i cant think of any, have the Scottish authorities ever fined any club for pyro or even any other fan misbehavior ?

As for the result , im sure the players and manager will be gutted , lessons will be learned and god help whoever we draw next time as the boys will be out to put it right, again.

  5. Does hitting a shot straight at the keeper count? But it's on target though so I suppose that's better

Depends where the keeper is standing , if he saves it from hitting the target then its a goal saved , the target being the bit you try to hit , under the bar and between the posts , thats what you get a goal for.

Try getting to a match instead of playing the smart cunt on here towards those that do , you'll soon pick it up.

  6. And losses will continue if fans are priced out of going to matches. Prices will increase to compensate and eventually there are fewer and fewer supporters and the club is unsustainable.

That's essentially what's happened over the last 20 years or so where football prices have sky rocketed against all other costs. Our attendances have probably gone down by 500 - 1,000 regular home supporters in that time.

These European games are additional income for the club. The season should be budgeted to league season and finish. Maybe if we did that we wouldn't make these huge losses.

I'm under no illusion about out financial situation. I think that it's more serious than has generally been acknowledged and I'm sure it had a big part to play in Dempster moving on. But the facts are the clubs financially policies are ultimately flawed if we look at the scale of the losses over the last few years and testing the loyalty of supporters by trying to squeeze more and more out of them is not the answer.

We are flirting with disaster if we expected continued success to pay our bills in the future. What happens if there is another early cup exit again or if we finish 8th or we don't qualify for Europe?

I think the time has come when fans need to start asking serious questions about our finances instead of stumping up more and more.

    Spot on.

But apparantly you and I are just trying to save a fiver ... :whistling:

  7. At last common ground - £30.00 it is then.

What has the opposition got to do with price of a ticket for a Euro game. It's already been explained that a reduction isn't going to produce the desired increase to make it viable, so why do it, just to make the ground look full?, even though we don't make as much money. It's only common economic sense, and to paraphrase your previous comment - "and only an idiot would think otherwise".

There is nothing either to substantiate claims that reductions in price's breeds new generations of fans or attracts stay-away ones to come back on a regular basis (our average attendances bear that one out).

What has the opposition got to do with the ticket price ? Are you serious ?

It costs £10 to get into a Linfield home game , here we have folk being advised to save up for a month and treat themselves to a £25 viewing of them

If it "isnt viable" to watch Linfield for £20 whoever is doing the sums and dishing out the contracts up at Fir Park needs bumped before they do any more damage. That is common economic sense.

Squeezing the fans for every penny at every turn is a mistake IMO and i hope its not a sign of how the new broom is intending to sweep through Fir Park.

  8. You've not even gone close to answering my question, or addressing my point. Of course £20 would be better for us to pay. £10 would be better still, etc etc

However, the club has to try to maximise every revenue stream available. If 'Flow had a guarantee that Fir Park would be a sell out if he made it a tenner a ticket, I reckon he'd do it. However, history would tell us that the difference in attendance between charging £20 and £25 would be minimal, so what you're asking the club to do is kiss goodbye to thousands of pounds to get a tiny handful of extra bums on seats. It's just not feasible.

    Charge £30 then

Fuck those who cant afford it.

We all know the club is attempting to maximise revenue streams , that they are doing it weeks ahead of the draw tells me that they could be doing with it too. They are also taking the piss if they charge £25 to watch Mypa47.

Im fortunate enough that the fiver doesnt make a difference to me , for others it will , good luck in maximising them in future.

  9. See all of these geniuses that reckon it should be £20 instead of £25, do you also reckon that doing so would add 20% more folk to the attendance? I'm certain it wouldn't, therefor agree entirely with the clubs pricing structure.

Maybe they arent geniuses, just folk that £25 is a lot of money to and could go a long way towards something other than a match against a side they've never heard of

I'll buy my ticket , i'll hope i can make it and i can see why the club is doing it - and if you take your kids it is a decent deal.

£25 to watch part time footballers is taking the piss in anyones language though and only an idiot would think otherwise.

  10. For me it's a sign of a side which is poorly coached

Im not and never have been one of McCall's biggest fans but i think having the current squad in third shows that they are well coached.

As for the case for the defence , Hammell isnt near as good as folk are saying on his 500 thread if he was better than the players listed there he wouldv'e been in Premiership earning a bundle instead of them , Hutchinson is as rash and reckless in the tackle as you can be without swinging a chain and broken bottle and i still haven't moved from my original and much slaughtered on here opinion that high earning hacking and holding McManus is little more than a liability who like most of our support thinks he is much much better than he actually is.

I agree the midfield doesnt help much either but they cant take all the blame.

IMO The manager is getting the best out of the squad he has though

  11. The waste of a jersey is turning into our top man.

Head and shoulders above everybody today.

    Not an SPL player apparently

Are you just trying to antagonise folk who dont rate him into spamming the board with their equally tedious brand of shite the next time he doesnt have a good game ?

  12.

What the manager has to do is provide the platform to make that happen. So far this season he has struggled to do that for reasons too various to mention.

It's not his fault we cant play against possibly the worst side i have ever seen in the top flight at Fir Park every week. Delighted at the result and well done to the team for making what looked to be a tough tie so easy in the end but i wouldnt be dishing out any new contracts or making any bold predictions about anyone on the back of that match .

  13. We get the picture - you don't like tom hately cause his burd said something to you that you didn't appreciate- can we now discuss issues to do with Motherwell fc instead of this pish

    Oh controversial !

More controversial than wondering if Tom Hately is really bothered at missing out on a couple of cup humiliations and another season in a league that was considered a joke by everyone outside of it ten years ago and is much worse now ?
