EB said the other day that there had been dialogue with well society board members. He referred to Sean, Jason and Derek and said that he was aware that they weren't in favour of the offer but that it hadn't been communicated in as strong terms as in the well society statement. I personally think the folk who can answer the questions on the voting issue are the Well Society board. Right now there's a lot of speculation as there's always going to be. I personally don't think the issue is that it's a poor offer that fans don't want. If members don't want it they can reject it. The issue is that the board have decided to look for external investment - and the Well Society are opposed to this - at least in its present form where we would see the society lose majority control. There's obviously a conflict between the board and the society - as a lot of people are aware. If the offer had been tossed out before fans got to vote then some fans wouldn't have been happy with that. I suppose some people will be concerned that the bid might be accepted but that was always going to be a possibility given the way the vote went earlier in the year. I don't have sources like some fans - so I don't know anything about what's going on in the club - and I'm fine with that.

Exactly what I was going to post earlier. Anyone can buy a blue tick

Clearly less than ideal and I don't envy the well society in any of this.

Surely they had that vote in their capacity as Motherwell fc board members and not as well society board members? The well society also made it clear that they wouldn't be taking part in negotiations and would put a statement out when the vote was over which they have done. So why would they want or need representation on the vote? They can't say they are stepping out until the vote is over and want input at the same time. Clearly theres a conflict and to be fair it's one few people could have seen in advance because no one knew when they were elected to the well society board that there would be this offer of outside investment

I'd never claim to be funny but I think the combined efforts of others could add at least a million onto the proposed valuation.

Around 3000 I believe. Possibly slightly more - could be 3800 or so. Sure someone posted the figure a few months back Just googled and it was 3500 at the end of 2022

The well society said they weren't taking part in the negotiations. So I assume any vote wouldn't have been representing the well society position as they indicated a couple of months ago that they were not going to be part of the negotiations.. I assume then that the people who voted did so in their remit as board members and then felt they had to step down as there was a clear conflict of interests between that position and their position on the well society board. Clearly a lot of questions that need answering.

Another new face in. Tom Sparrow.

I would advise against it 🤣 Yeah. There's lots of avenues open which isn't necessarily a bad thing. On re reading the well society statement it looks like their plans will be made available at the beginning of July.

Well to be fair he's surely got the right to state his position given some of the stuff that was being said. The same way anyone else would want to. He's getting the blame (on twitter as well) for valuing the club at 4 million pounds when it was apparently the the club that did it. Some fans were also personally attacking him and name calling him on P and B. As for divided fans. Fans are always going to be divided over lots of issues. I'm not going to necessarily agree with someone just because I support Motherwell and them with me. If there's divisions, they've been there for a while I think. I do understand the point you are making but the vote hasn't happened yet. The club has been badly run for a while on certain levels. I think this has just brought it all to the surface.

We are apparently looking at Kane Thompson-Sommers with three other clubs interested.
-
Oh I'm stupid am I? Good to know. Back on ignore you go.
-
But the Society have advised fans to reject so if the vote is no then what happens then? Where does the club go from here (just a general question. Not expecting you to know the answer).
-
We do need to give it a chance but I think that members should be kept in the loop by them. All it takes is one email to send to members saying we are still working on our plan to maximise revenue. I personally haven't put the society under pressure. There's been no expectation from me that they go out and raise a couple of million pounds. But we are the people paying in to the society. I also realise that this alternative plan will take time to put together. But if they are telling fans to vote no to this deal because they don't think it's right for Motherwell then surely people at the club, not just the Well Society, other people as well let fans know their future plans for the club or if we just continue operating the way we do just now.

What did they have to do with the Royal Bank of Scotland collapse?
-
I do think the society should post something on here if they have the time. Particularly in light of the comments made that the outside investment proposal was not supported by the Well Society board but not as strongly as in the statement they put out the other day. I also completely understand they are volunteers and busy.
-
Do you think it will? Their plan?
-
Understatement I think. And agree. I wonder if they were prevented legally or just not invited into the discussions or thought it was best not to be involved. Potentially because we are fan owned and they have the majority share they wanted to remain neutral. Who knows.
