The broadcast media have never been the least bit interested in what is happening at Motherwell FC, unless of course we are playing one of the Old Firm. That has been the case for as long as I can remember and it will never change for us, or indeed any other provincial club. I rarely watch football on the telly as I prefer to go to the games where possible. The only time I listen to the radio is for Off the Ball or the post match reactions from our manager. Technology is coming on leaps and bounds and it won’t be too long before fans are transmitting games home and away on a very basic level. This amateur live feed will have very limited effect on the big boys at Sky Sports or BT as they are providing a completely different service, for the diehard armchair fan.

I don’t know much about the lad, however, looking at his background online he doesn’t appear to be that kind of player.

I have tried to be positive with my previous predictions, however, it has got me nowhere. This time I am going for 3-0 Killie, Boyd hat trick (here’s hoping I get this result wrong as well). -
He looked as if he had just seen a ghost.

Not good to hear.

Where’s your tipping point Haggis? Killie look woeful and if we can’t beat them it's an early indication that we are going to be struggling again this season. A few Motherwell fans are getting twitchy about Baraclough’s abilities as a manger, however, there is steam coming out of the ears of Killie fans over Gary Locke. Even this early in the season I am looking to the other sides who have started poorly to judge where Motherwell sit in the broad scheme of things. We have beaten Inverness, Killie however, have only managed two draws, shockingly one of those was against Celtic. That draw aside, Killie look as if relegation could be a distinct possibility and in my opinion they are a team that we should be beating at home. As I said in the Baraclough thread, I will give him until Christmas to get us moving in the right direction, which will hopefully start with three points against Killie on Saturday. -

I agree Killie looked dreadful, however, if a team needs a boost, Motherwell have a habit of gifting the opposition three points all wrapped up in claret and amber ribbons. -
East Fife 2 Motherwell 1, has a certain cup shock ring to it. Just be thankful you are not here.

I have seen this number before, however, I am sure it was prefixed by the names Dundee United, Hearts, Aberdeen and St.Johnstone.

I personally think that it’s too soon to be calling for Baraclough’s head, however, if we lose to East Fife and Kilmarnock I can understand why there would be some murmurings within our support about his ability to deliver. Fans are rightly frustrated that In such a short time we have gone from being a regular top six side, to one who is battling at the wrong end of the table. However, having watched Motherwell since the 60s this situation is more common than many younger fans would care to imagine. I will give Baraclough until Christmas to see if him and his signings can start moving us in the right direction. If we are still struggling to win games and sitting adrift from the pack by then, I think some tough decisions will have to be made by the board. Fingers crossed it will not come to that.

East Fife should be no match for us, however, if I was their manager I would be instructing my players to have a real good go as we don't look like converting much more than one, or maybe two chances on a really good day. If we don’t approach this game in the correct manner we will get punished even by a side that perhaps lack the pace/fitness of a full time premiership team. To lose to East Fife would be unthinkable and it would pile some early pressure on the manager and playing staff. Along with Kilmarnock we will be the pundits favourites to provide the cup shock of the night, however, I hope we can prove them wrong with an easy away win.

Only if we gift them three points next Saturday. -
If East Fife have a go and can score two goals, the game will be theirs to lose. I would like to think this won’t happen, however, as we are currently a one (goal) trick pony team, this is a real possibility. Good luck to everyone making the trip through to Methil for this one, as in our current form you will need it.

This will be our undoing this season, unfortunately, we do not score many goals and the opposition will take confidence from our lack of goals, Any side who can muster up two goals have a very good chance of beating us (East Fife take note). -

I admire your optimism, however, the play-off game aside we are a team who in recent times have struggled with the scoring side of the game, and I don’t envisage us breaking the mould on Saturday. I went for 1-1, however, if we approach the attacking side of the game in the correct manner we might manage to get 2 (queue Motherwell to run riot and score 6 or 7 ). -
Any chance of enticing Willie Pettigrew or some other players from the 70s to talk about that era in our history?

The only Motherwell team that remotely looks like bringing more silverware back to Fir Park. -

We need to be much better at defending set pieces as similar to last season we look like losing a goal every time the opposition floats a ball into our box. St.Johnstone are a team who we really should be matching point for point and hopefully we can come away from Perth with at least a point. I’m going for 1-1 with Sutton netting their goal (it has to happen) and Moult getting off the mark for ours. -
My nit picking is born out of frustration Andy and the fact that it’s so easy to get these things right. For me, positioning the main design feature (the sash) in the wrong position can be avoided with a few minutes of picture research. Like you said, sticking a badge on a retro shirt that never had one originally is also something that should be avoided (the 52 shirt you mentioned was a good example). At least this Copa shirt is nowhere near as bad as the some of the original replica’s from the 70's, where the sash went in the opposite direction. This Copa shirt is a good replica, however, with a few tweaks it could have been a great replica. As spiderpig suggested, I am off to find a new hobby to occupy my time. The wife will be pleased.
