  1. Link here on latest. Still worrying seeing Stauntons name, not sure my thoughts on Boothroyd, did a good job at Watford and Gannon does seem pretty decent. How badly did Nijholt interview if Staunton is still there on the shortlist and he's axed?
  2. Lol yeah that was my overriding impression of the season before last, just so stale! As much as the idea of a new team getting build is potentialy exciting I'd have preferred evolution to revolution, but we'll just need to wait and see how things transpire.
  3. If I was trying to be funny I'd fire in the useful smiley's. It not like you never been seen wearing one. If you think people who have bought a season ticket are fucked then you not got a clue about what supporting a team is about. So you might as well just move along if you haven't grasped the concept by now.
  4. Well away and dig out yer h*n top for this season.
  5. Give the boy Fraser a chance, never a stand out for me but never had him down as liability either. He might do better than we think. I'd also have no serious objections to O'Brien starting right mid. I think Jamie Murphy at least deserves a place on the bench and Sutton not my favourite but proven he can nick a few goals. Fitzpatrick and lasley is not a midfield central pairing I think we can get by with but short term I think they will put a shift in and maybe do better than expected. McGarry I written off, decent player but can't seem to stay fit enough to be any real use. Certainly do need about a dozen new faces, though you can probably add the lads Saunders, Hutchison and Page to defensive cover section. Time and hopefully a bit of cash is there yet to fill that out a bit.
  6. Clarkson hasn't let his contract run down, assuming he is away just now. Fact of the matter is even if McGhee made a big effort to keep the McCormacks, Porter's, Hughe's of the world it nigh on impossible. We can't sustain wages bigger than what he got them with on the first place and players that stand out for us end up getting better offers. As it is if the TV deal is sorted fairly soon there should be ample money to reinvest, I just hope the new manager has some leeway to make a start before then or we could be facing some seriously testing times.
  7. Lol so it's bigger than Motherwell, i'm sure it'll cope.
  8. I beg to differ, it maybe gives them the ability to act like a bunch of arseholes but I wouldn't say it was a right or a privelege they entitled to. That said there could be umpteen reasons why it not a certainty but given we announced it would seem to suggest we thought it was and if the problem was at our end we should have been breaking the news or not announcing it in first place. Who cares anyway, if we can get to 3rd round of the Europa league qualifying we'll not need any underwhelming preseason friendlies anyway.
  9. If in doubt cancel it yourself.
  10. Indeed but when you see the debt levels they keep announcing yet still keep going i reckon setanta going under isn't going to be what kills then. You never know but logic and sense and that club don't seem to ever meet.
  11. Hearts would seem to be safe enough provided Romanov doesn't pull the plug or go under himself. Aberdeen I would think are not in great shape, but maybe Milne would finally throw in some money. Feck knows financial realities of the SPL teams though to be honest, certainly hope TV deal swiftly sorted out so we not having flog Clarkson and Reynolds just to stay afloat.

Trust nice and healthy and you happy with its progress then, not to mention integrity of a certain member, no names pending legal issues?

The supporters association information is well out of date, things like e-branch don't even exist anymore, at a glance the wishaw information definately out and I suspect possbily some others.
  14. I think we'll win but I expect it to be close, we're playing out of our natural habitat at Airdrie, it our first games of the season and we barely back in training with a threadbare squad. Getting through by means is good enough for this round. And we have been stuffed by many a smaller team in the cups in the past as we all know.
  15. Sure they'll find a slot but pretty sure it can't be saturday 3ish. The early saturday evening slot a possibility, setanta had a lot of those games but SKY look likely to pick up one batch of the two packages setanta lost so sunday lunchtime might be the place. Possibly tweaking there sunday layout, who knows. Don't care all that much, though less disruption the better, I'd rather we pocketed the substantial difference in cash ESPN seem to be offering.
  16. I can't see Sky doing anything other than using SPL as filler. Take the extra ESPN money, at least unlike Setanta they not likely to go into meltdown. Don't really care if I don't have the channel, no doubt BBC or STV will negociate some highlights package like they have up unti lnow.
  17. Forget just Hughes, a squad list would be nice just to be sure official site is accurate. And any interesting trialists we don't want made public a PM will do.
  18. Interesting to see Smith removed and Fraser in, with Hughes and McLean still listed on official squad list. If Hughes had resigned you'd think we'd have trumpeted it from the rooftops, so I assuming that reason for this is that is still up in the air with only Smith definately gone though where to still a mystery. Hopefully the euro ties will force a conclusion. If he plans to go to Aberdeen or Hearts then he surely won't be playing a part.
  19. Any idea if this mob are any good? Least it evening games as it be scorchio enough conditions to play in from look at the average temp. Surely that is a winnable path to round 3 if we hit the ground running.
  20. Not checked a Sunday Post but someone is surely at it with that suggestion.
  21. Aye paying for the EPL rights surely a big millstone around their neck if they weren't getting the subscription to cover it. Fingers crossed that with some careful pruning they can keep going and Scottish fitba doesn't suffer.
  22. Getting the lawyers in for breach of contract?
  23. There a difference between knives being out and people having an opinion. If we appointed a manager with a proven track record you get the fans right behind him a lot more easily than some guy with one distrastrious job behind him. My heart would sink if Staunton got the job, I'd be delighted to be proven wrong and if he does a good job fantastic. But no wonder there is sounds of dismay at certain names, they give no reason to have any sort of confidence and yeah it is true the patience of fans can be very short at times. But you make things harder for yourself if your appointment looks like pish from the get go.
  24. Kevin Christie by a long way! Ouifio was a whole other level of dross.
