  1. Anything but a win aka miracle here and I think we'll do lucky to finish 11th. Based on the last couple defeats being more or less carbon copies of our season, it's clear we haven't learned from the many mistakes that have got us here. A win and there's hope that accies won't win thereafter, sealing 10th. We certainly ain't beating killie at home and when we don't, that final ict game could pan out to be the nightmare scenario depending on next week's result.
  2. Yeah I'll second that. Keep it to the football. Leave divisive politics/ religion etc to the ugly sisters.
  3. Never been so angry after a game as I was today! County looked decent on the ball while offering little attack-wise. We had plenty balls into the area, f@@k knows how many corners, but no one even near it?!! It was obvious in the second half that 1 goal was going to win it, cue the fucking self destruct button. At that point, the team were beat. Pathetic. I am now reduced to zero faith that we will stay up. If we're lucky enough to avoid 12th, we'll get beaten in the playoffs. You actually don't even need to attack to beat us - just sit tight and defend and we'll fucking throw one in.
  4. I remember making the case to Aberdeen fans that it was 3-1 to them on bad decisions that season. The three being Anderson handball goal, a penalty that was about 5 yards outside the box (early on in the season) and something happened it a cup game which slips my mind, offside goal maybe? As sickening as the decisions have been, especially of late in crunch matches, I struggle with the notion there's an agenda against us. Certainly things haven't gone our way though. What did shock me was the media harping on about our goal vs Inverness, without pointing out their offside goal, and barely a mention of our legitimate goals vs hamilton and yesterday. Both potentially season defining moments for us. Yet they choose to focus on an incident that (1) evened out another decision in that game and (2) was a game which we scored again and probably would have gone on to win anyway.

Campbell. I presume the samson vote was a piss take?
  6. Back 3 is not working and Robinson has to see that. Far too exposed down the wings and using cadden and frear as wing backs pretty much nullifies their attacking threat. Contrary to what many on here think, on the ball I didn't think we played bad at all yesterday. But just shocking defensively as per. And we might have gotten away with it but for the craig samson show on the stroke of half time. And that goal.....I'm getting sick of it this season.
  7. Re summer signings. Surprised no ones mentioned clay. I like him and one of the few from Friday with pass marks for me. I think he'll prove to be a good signing for us - unsung hero type. Hard working, tough tackler with a good range of passing (though admittedly his passing can be lazy at times). He's still relatively young too so time to develop.
  8. Read a few comments and agree with the general consensus - lacking width big time. 4-3-3 with NO WINGERS is never going to work. Same as against thistle. We've got our top scorer and only penalty box striker playing left wing ffs! Time to go 4-3-3 with wingers or change back to a 4-4-2. Pet hate is managers shoehorning 11 players into a formation. Samson I don't think is terrible, but he's had his chance and gifted opponents with a few howlers. Mcghee looked pretty raging at half time - time for brill, surely.
  9. I totally disagree with this opinion. And I'm not just saying that because of last night. He looks the part but that's it. What has he done since he came in to suggest he's better than twardzik? The other week the caley thistle boys header went through him. He hardly covered himself in glory for countys goals either. I only recall one exceptional piece of goalkeeping from him - one on one vs caley (you could add his save from the initial header last night but his next action made up for it). I agree he has potential but right now he's not the answer.
  10. I would doubt it tbh. But regardless I'd rather have a better chance of staying in the league than worrying about who we can or can't get on loan from sheff utd.
  11. For me it was a worrying and sickening way to lose after such good work to go in front. Every point is a prisoner and the mistakes last night were unacceptable. Before last night Long had done absolutely nothing to suggest he is any better than Dan. After last night he should be dropped. 1st goal - OK it was a free header which was criminal, but a cross inside the 6 yard box is keeper territory and dealing with crosses was everyone's main criticism of Dan. Great save from the header to be fair, then the less said the better. 2nd goal, what the actual fuck was going through his head? 2 centre half's there to deal with what was nothing more than a hopeful punt. Laing is clearly watching the ball with one intention - nodding it back to the keeper. If long is coming for that (which he should never ever ever ever ever have been) then scream bloody murder to let laing know. Long has potential but he cost us last night and we can't afford that level of complacency in the position were in. Bring back Dan.
  12. Assuming the same players are injured/ suspended I'd like to see pretty much the same lineup as sat but with Thomas out wide and Erwin up front, Sutton dropping to the bench as just about everything good we do at the moment breaks down with him. Will take a point here just to stop the downward spiral.
  13. This pretty much sums it up for me. He's by no means the best, and while I'd have welcomed cerny, I'd rather see the wages spent elsewhere. IMO the centre backs have cost us much more goals this season than Dan has, and he has saved us from a few real bollockings at times (utd in the cup springs to mind).
  14. All there is to say after that is thank fuck black never got the job.
  15. Fair enough if something else takes precedence but since when was supporting motherwell about winning??
  16. If its a league game then it's not my stance, but ok that's understandable. But this was the SCOTTISH CUP vs a big team, arguably one of the favourites. Those excuses can go out the window IMO. If you don't come out to support your team in those circumstances, and with reduced ticket prices, then when will you?
  17. Totally agree. There were almost as many away fans as home fans at the game yesterday. Absolutely pathetic home support, especially for a scottish cup tie.
  18. Gutted at this result is an understatement, especially after playing so well in the 1st half. Dan was incredibly good, would have been much more without him but it begs the question wtf is the defence up to? Utd split us open 4 or 5 times in 2nd half. Have always been a fan of lawson so a real shame to see him injured after playing well. Mentions to vigurs, zaine and ojamaa too. Starting to lose patience with sutton, if he's not scoring he offers nothing. Oh and i f***ing hate that wee c**t paton - just wanted to get that off my chest.
  19. He should and will because its his job. Whether he should be in the role or not, from motherwells point of view, is a different argument.
  20. Totally disagree that the sub's lost us the game. I blame the same thing that has lost us the other 3 games this season....inbalanced formations, nosebleeds in the final third, no one taking a shot, severe lack of fitness, and the fact the team don't look like they have any direction or idea of how to break a team down. On the plus side Lawson played well, I have always rated him and hope he can hold down a place this year. O Brien impressed too, reminds me of Reynolds in both appearance and playing style.

    St Johnstone

Voted for Lawson. Could have just as easily went for o'brien, pass marks for Reid and twardzik. No one else particularly deserves a mention.
  22. Maybe the defence/ midfield should be doing more to stop the shots coming in then? Dan didn't cover himself in glory for either of the goals but in the end of the day Killie were shooting for fun from range yesterday. Theres going to be some difficult ones throughout the course of the season. The team is looking too unfit and lethargic to do that though.
  23. Like your sense of perspective here and while it is too early to hit the panic button alarm bells have to be going off somewhere. One goal and 3 points in 4 games and, I wasn't at the st mirren game but, by the sounds of things it should be zero goals and points. Next 3 games - st Johnstone at home, county away and Celtic away. Playing as we have been I can see that becoming 3 points from 21. County are guff but so are we. Add to that an absolutely miserable European campaign and its not looking good. Things have gone stale under mccall for a while now and imo it was a minor miracle that we managed to finish second last year. Hope he can turn it round but this is about as pessimistic as I've been for a while as a well fan.
  24. I am delighted with this news. Great to actually make money from the deal when the truth is he hardly kicked a ball since he signed permanently. I liked anier at times but thought he was overrated after his start with us and, quite frankly, thought he was murder in a number of games in the last half of the season. Never the less he gave us a good first half season and overall the deal appears to have worked out for both parties. Good luck to him.
