Worst Midfielders To Grace The Claret & Amber
mfc88 replied to Goggles & Flippers's topic in Club Chat
Its 3 over the two sections I think... -
Yeah would tend to agree, he's been kicking his heels on the bench for about 5 years, but has he not got another season after this on his deal? May as well see what he can offer come pre season after half a seasons worth of games in div 1...
-
Good move for all parties: Bob (hopefully) gets a run of games. QoS get a player who should cut it at that level. We can assess him at div 1 level to get a better grasp if he can step up or not, more so than 10 min sub appearances anyway. Good luck Bob.

Legend!

Great piece of business by the club. Hope we can get McHugh out on loan though. He really needs it and could have done with it years ago. If not Dundee surely another first division side would be keen?
-
Totally agree with that. For me its a straight replacement if hutchy goes. Keep Ramsden at RB. Think kerr or any of our young defenders for that matter would benefit playing in what is otherwise a very experienced defence. Will be sad to see hutchy go for peanuts, inevitably, but feel were covered enough in the area to not worry too much.

For me, hateleys problem was that he thought he was a much much better player than he actually was. This is probably related to the increased media speculation surrounding him, combined with his dads opinion of him. He was an average spl right back, not the supreme central midfield dynamo he believed he was. This is something I always thought throughout his time with us. Out of interest does anyone know when he has played for tranmere has he played right back or midfield?
-
I nearly wimped out because i slept in and woke up with a stinking hangover!! Glad I dragged my arse along though because we were brilliant. Vigurs had his best game for us yet, and I have been critical of him in the past but when he's in the mood ainsworth is a real player! Our season is not over but it has to be said it would be much more exciting if we were still in the cups, especially the way we've played recently. Anyway onwards and upwards, a good second half to the league and a good team to build on for next season will do me.
-
Cheers mate. Can't really expect much more given the time of year and recent weather.
-
Did not see that win coming! Excellent stuff, cant believe were sitting second and 2 points ahead of utd and aberdeen! Will hold my hands up and say I was in the 'our seasons over' camp. 3 great wins has shut me up big time. Mon the well. Wasnt at the game, credit to those who were. What was the well crowd?
-
Of course we will need to. I'm not saying we wouldn't. Anyway I suspect ainsworth will stay and probably aniers situation will be out of our hands.
-
Is it going to be though? We cant assume we're going to play like that from now on given the season up to now. Like I say based on saturday, absolutely keep both. But are they both going to find that level of consistency that will help push and keep us ahead of the other top 6 teams?
-
See this is where I'm split on the matter. The post above is a good one and the recent wins suggest we should not be giving up on the league (therefore keeping the two loanees)....However the fact is we're nearly halfway through the season and things still aren't clicking yet. And we need to ask why? Are there better options out there that might make us click? Would it be worth freeing up the wages to bring someone else in? Or giving the likes of moore/leitch/erwin their chance? Still havent made my mind up. After saturdays performance I'd keep both, but had you asked me on friday I'd have definitely said otherwise.

Not sure if its posted elsewhere but frombbc gossip today: Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough says forward Jamie Murphy, who appeared poised for a loan return to Motherwell, has worked his way back into his plans
-
If it can help to improve crowds or atmosphere in scottish football, which the stat above suggests it might, then for me its absolutely a no brainer.
-
Exactly. That's the most smoke bombs, fireworks, flares etc I've seen at a game in scotland, not to mention the fucking state of the south stand, and not one arrest? Have seen home and away fans ejected for much less on many many occasions. These scumbags are becoming untouchable and they know it. Not good enough from the police and stewards and it isn't going to get better with their blind eye attitude.
-
I'm far from saying McCall out just yet. But he does need to change his approach. Things haven't gone for us this season and rotating the same underperforming players in the same ineffectual system isn't working.
-
Its now on the official website and in the other thread. Knee cartilage injury...out for the season. He must be gutted. Wish him all the best.
-
Any indication as to what and how bad Erwin's injury is yet?
-
I suppose not renewing the loanee contracts in January frees up a couple wages. Personally I'd be happy with that. Apart from his wonder goal ainsworth isn't showing enough for me. He is particularly inconsistent. As for anier, I can't decide if I love him or loathe him. Good finisher and flashes of brilliance but goes missing and can be completely ineffectual at times. If were forking out wages for loan players (especially just now), they should be contributing more consistently.
-
Had never done a null vote before this season....think this is my 4th
-
Dont see it happening though, has he not just signed a 2 (or 3?) year deal at the end of last season?
-
Don't even know what to say. Team looks flat, bored, unfit, lethargic and uninterested as they have for 90% of the season. Seasons over. Fuck knows how were sitting 3rd, no chance we'll get away with it for much longer. Mid bottom six finish if this shite carries on. We should move some players on in January and bleed the youths. That will not happen though - McCall won't do that despite it being club policy. He doesn't seem to want to, the only youngsters he has brought through is carswell and zfa...and that's only this season after 3 years at the helm.
-
Agree with you there. Personally think Kerr's better in the centre though. Reckom we have a ready made replacement for hutchy if he leaves.
-
Picked Lawson but could just have easily went for Kerr or Moore. On another note, credit where its due...big gunner also had a good game. What he had to do he did well but generally looked much more comfortable and less hesitant in what he was doing. Hope it continues.
