Went for cole but there were some huge moments from Kelly at the end. Was surprised when I realised how young he is... plays with the maturity of a keeper 10 years older.
-
Can anyone shed any light on whats going on at the far end of the East stand where the bois sit? Looks like a load of seats missing... Obvious answer is seats are being replaced but wondering is it going to be a safe standing area?
-
I was more or less behind robbo till the end, but we do look a lot more organised and less error prone now. OK, the goal last night was riddled with individual errors, but just in general since Alexander came in. Problem has been doing it in the final 3rd.

Went for maguire but could just have easily went for watt or mugabi.
-
Thought maguire was fantastic tonight and deserves a run in the team in that holding role. Watt was a brilliant outlet again and what a header from mugabi by the way, seemed to levitate in the air once he got up there. Brilliant second half up to the last 15 or so when the nerves began to kick in. Thats the monkey off our back now with some winnable games coming up next month. Not sure how County ended up with 11 men there. It was a mistimed tackle from hjelde but he's booted Crawford in the ribs ffs. Not even a yellow.
-
If its the same guy I'm thinking of for st m, I always thought he was a decent player when we played against him. Didn't realise his age though. Got a bit of fight in him which is what we desperately need.
-
Because if we don't, we may as well give up on our season now. If we don't fancy our chances against the teams around us, when do we?
-
A must not lose on paper, but a must win for me. If we don't fancy our chances against county we may as well sack it now. They've had a bit of a bounce, but hopefully that's come to an end yesterday.
-
He also had one in the first half on, I think, cole - more clumsy than blatant that one though. Still an easy couple yellows if you ask me.
-
Possibly, I didnt think it was that bad at the time tbh... handbags from both, and a yellow card each seemed about right. But as I say haven't seen the highlights.
-
Thought we were the better team until polwarth got sent off, several chances in the first half but story of our season not taking any of them. Some positive signs from smith that he could do a job IMO. I don't like to focus on refs and decisions... but when the F are we going to get something go our way? Could have won the previous two games but for an incorrect refereeing decision in each. Today, how the officials missed the penalty claim is ridiculous. Then a red card for swearing? Give me a break. Have not seen the highlights yet but seedorfs cut back which cole eventually knocked in also looked well in play to me. Any of these go our way and it could have been a different outcome. I am beginning to get a really bad feeling as these things continue to go against us.
-
Yeah thats what I'd assume - some wording in his current contract to state that. Its too obvious a scenario for it to have been missed by lawyers, agents etc. No idea though, just guessing. Re long, I have thought for a while that he is our best goalscoring option up front if we can get him interested and back to the form of pre covid... looks like he's out injured just now though according to the official site - return date TBC.
-
I'm guessing the clause is invalid if he signs a pre-contract before it is triggered? Hence his agent flashing the panties at every opportunity right now.
-
Its very tight and not one you can expect the linesman to get every time. I think var would rule it out though - you see decisions on var that look a mile on but they find something, like a stud, offside. Just frustrating for a contentious one to go against us again after the penalty decision last week. When your down there these things really do hurt more.
-
Cole for me, scoring the goal and clearing off the line two crucial moments. Hardly touched the ball in the 2nd half but still put in a massive shift as often left isolated up top in the 2nd.
-
Good point and we look a lot more organised defensively. A few signs there of how Alexander wants us to play. That was a difficult watch in the second half though, defended far too deep. Put it down to lack of confidence which hopefully this point reinstates some of. Thought we looked good in the first half when we went forward - great play for the goal.
-
I really hope we can take something from today to give us something to build on going up to Aberdeen and dingwall. Not feeling optimistic though. Hope I'm proved wrong. COYW

Why? What has other sports or other countries got to do with it? Personally, I don't want to see the SFA copy what other sports or countries are doing, I want to see them demonstrate proper leadership and show that they take the covid situation in this country seriously. They haven't done that IMO. I agree with you that the 3 pts shouldn't have been awarded in the first place, rather a heavy, non-suspended fine would have been more appropriateat the time. But what has resulted, a 10k fine is pathetic and an insult to everyone working their asses off in hospitals, pharmacies, care homes etc to get the country through this.
-
Forget about motherwell and 6 points. Do you really think the punishment fits the crime? The season was given the go ahead to kick off under conditions that covid protocols were followed by all clubs and killie and st mirren failed to do so, caused an outbreak and affected the fixture schedule. And this is ok - just a slap on the wrist? Really? For me, 3 months ago, they should have been given a heavy fine and rearranged the matches. Now though, with a lot less of a window to reschedule games, the weather affecting "all weather" pitches, the lower leagues postponed, the entire country on lockdown, celtic doing their best to null and void the season and most importantly covid still looming (which could bite anyone in the ass at any moment), I just cannot fathom the logic of this outcome. This bizarre notion that killie and st mirren should be "happy" with the punishment is laughable. Its not a punishment otherwise, and cant believe they've not only got away with it but had their fines reduced. You literally couldn't fucking write it!
-
Football aside, we are in the middle of a pandemic and no matter what you think of our government and how they've handled it, they need EVERYBODY on side, behaving, following rules to contain the virus. The fact people haven't is the very reason this country's in this mess. You only need to look at countries like Australia and NZ who acted quicker and, critically, harder than the UK to see that. Killie and st mirren (the clubs, not rogue players) have, by their own admission, FAILED to comply. So what message is an absolutely pathetic punishment sending out? Yeah break the rules, it doesn't really matter. Had they ordered the games to be replayed but given killie and st m a proper, non-suspended fine (say 150k) then ok - they have been dealt a proper punishment. 10k with 10k suspended is fuck all, you will make more than that back off pay per view streams of the games. This debacle has taken over 3 months to close out and now, the only innocent parties in all this are losing out by having to shoehorn in the extra games before the split. What if we now have a covid outbreak, are out of action for 2 weeks and then need to fit an additional 4 games in before the split? I get you're happy with the outcome - I would be in your shoes - but if you don't accept that not only is the punishment a joke, but also that Motherwell and to a lesser extent, hamilton, have been fucked over here, there is no point even trying to debate it. I only hope nicola sturgeon doesn't cotton on the the fact the sfa clearly don't give a shit about protocol breaches because, with everything else going on with celtic, and the lower leagues postponing, it would not surprise me if she suspended the game.

The spfl are unbelievable.
-
St mirren have just tweeted their delight at the hearing outcome?? What. The. Fuck.
-
Don't disagree, but i suspect the spfl would copy what they do down south and interrogate everything. I could be wrong on that. For me the var ref should get a time, say 15 seconds to make a call. If it is "clear and obvious" then you should be able to make that call in the given time. If you need to get the ruler out and start drawing lines and all this carry on, then its not a clear enough error to overturn. I think we all know how these decisions would go in certain circumstances though...
-
Seeing the mess that the EPL have made of implementing var, the thought of letting the SPFL loose on it gives me the fear.

Looked much better in the first half than of late, polwarth in particular looked like a different player. Disappointing second half but didn't think their penalty should have been given. Erwin was backing in so much that he lost possession of the ball and threw himself to the ground once he realised the chance was gone. Thats how I saw it anyway, didn't see enough contact from mugabi and gallagher was only holding his ground. Story of the season in terms of not making the most of chances when on top though. So a disappointing point in the circumstances but some definite positives there. A few reinforcements this month should hopefully see us fine.
