  1. Watt was excellent first half but faded in the second half. Going to go for Mugabi.
  2. Not our best performance, game was pretty scrappy and basically died after we got our second but a welcome and deserved 3 points. Nicely taken goal by Cornelius and some nice skill by VV for his goal. Also worth noting Liam Kelly making an absolutely terrific save 2nd half to give us another clean sheet and a more comfortable closing stages. St Johnstone look in big trouble, probably created more chances than us, at least first half, but never really looked like scoring. If you exclude the two OGs they have scored 7 goals in 18 matches and only twice in the last 10.
  3. We'll see how Donnelly does but disappointed that Maguire is not playing, he's not in the squad so you have to assume he's not been dropped and there is another reason. Otherwise much as expected.
  4. I don't like reversed colours for strips. I don't think they are different enough. Look at Celtic this season. Bring out two white and green change kits and then they have to wear last seasons black away kit against Hibs because their home kit and two change strips all clash with Hibs. Maybe you can do it with goalkeeper kits but in terms of away kits I think we need different colours.
  5. More or less live next to Fir Park. It was a peasouper this morning but it has burned off and it's actually the nicest day for ages now. I'd wrap up though.
  6. I've heard this Omicron strain is up to 70 times more infectious as it infects the windpipe rather than air sacs deep in the lungs. The way they are talking this is going to be the biggest Covid challenge yet and the likelyhood is that it is going to effect every club in the next month or so.
  7. This was the same day I saw someone literally getting thrown through a window of Centre Focus like in a cowboy movie.
  8. Hibs fans moaning about the quality of football so might look else where!
  9. In my time which is from about 1982-ish the only players to outscore Arnott were Kirk, Sutton and McDonald. There is a wee bit controversy about Arnott's actual league goal tally because some sources give him a goal away to Hibs and other sources credit it as an OG. So it's either 58 or 59 depending on who you believe, can't remember what the 'official' one is. Coyne scored 57 but in a lot less games.
  10. Well that's us going on a bad run again!
  11. Obviously we've quite a few better goal scorers than Arnott but the thing about him is you could probably play him up front with just about anyone you liked and you'd have a great partnership. My Top 5 would be Tommy Coyne Scott McDonald Louis Moult Dougie Arnott Michael Higdon Owen Coyle was a good striker but he wasn't with us for that long and in the event of a tiebreaker playing for Airdrie takes you out of contention!
  12. It's a subtle way of saying I want to give her a 'we beat you' smirk!
  13. Apparently no one likes Scott McDonald. Would be in my Motherwell XI with Tommy Coyne. Dougie was great though. A wee guy in an era when defenders could assault you, he took his bumps and was injured a lot, but he was a player. Only problem was he could only score against the Old Firm. Off the top of my head something like 25 of his 60 ish goals for Motherwell were against Rangers and Celtic. Wish we had that problem now! His utter destruction of European Cup winning Basile Boli is one of my all time favourite memories.
  14. When anything goes wrong at a Championship or lower level club they always blame everything on the Scottish guy (manager/player/coach etc). Don't see them going for two Scots in a row!
  15. My other half is a Celtic fan and the last time we beat them was about two months before I met her. THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE.
  16. Looking forward to Charles Dunne's defending on Sportscene tonight. I mean they shipped 4 so I can only assume....
  17. Maddock had to go after making ungentlemanly comments about Port Glasgow Athletic's silk knickers. And we were even worse in 1904-05 than we were were in 1903-04. We actually finished bottom of the league in 1904-05 as opposed to second bottom the season before.
  18. Hibs form is so atrocious it kinda makes you believe we'll lose this one.
  19. Woolery and Mugabi have to be up there but personally I'd give it to Tony Watt. Great goal and great performance.
  20. It's without doubt our best midfield blend. Shame Barry got sent off as it disrupts the same selection going out again when ever the suspension kicks in. Same applies to Solheim's injury. Hopefully he's back soon but he looks a bit injury prone.
  21. Fun match at Motherwell swimming baths. Good first half performance although Dundee Utd finished the match stronger however I think the conditions were in our favour tonight as they were better when we were better. Woolery really good tonight. Watt a standout as usual and if anyone wants evidence as to why I think we are better with Mugabi at right back then mark this one exhibit A. Match turned into a bit of a farce towards the end with the pitch completely saturated but it was entertaining. Dundee performance was terrible BUT we've beaten Aberdeen, Hearts and Dundee Utd in the last four. That's pretty good going.
  22. I wouldn't be putting any money on us blowing away either team but we should be getting through this tie. Morton are plucky given the conditions they are operating under these days but they hardly score in the Championship so you'd expect us to be a step up from that. Inverness started the season grinding out results but they've been pretty ropey recently. Of course the tie is too far away to really make current form relevant. However chants of 'Broadfoot....Broadfoot...Broadfoot' might be worth reviving.
  23. Watched it last week. Hopefully Tony's not been staying up all night playing Playstation again.
