  1. Anier is another who is of slight concern regarding injury. Prior to Christmas he was regularly carrying knocks and would never last 90mins when selected. Now he's barely kicked a ball since the club invested significantly in him.
  2. For an 18 year old keeper to play in the first team, he really should be something special. He'll get full support if circumstances dictate that he has to be thrown in at the deep end.
  3. I'd be knocking on Dundee's door again if the option of an emergency loan is open.
  4. How much did we get for Slane? Competition Mr Lawwell? I hope when we signed Thomas, £x was tucked away to cover potential fee. Alternatively, a slice of the Ojamaa fee could/should have been put aside. I suspect we'll see him before end of season. JJ clearly rates him highly.
  5. The recognition and potential reward for European success has diluted in recent years but as a fan, we enjoy it while it lasts. Hopefully the club and manager embrace a more positive approach to our chances. I think even if we repeated last season's feat by finishing 2nd, we would go in at the 2nd qualifying round rather than the 3rd. Judging by the link above, we're likely to go in at 1st round if we qualify. This isn't ideal in terms of preparation and rest but financially it would hopefully secure a couple of home gates. All comes down to the luck of the draw, had we drawn Swansea rather than that Russian mob, we'd have made a profit this season.
  6. Surely compensation for Thomas can't be too great? Delighted to hear he scored 4 goals tonight, no doubt spurred on by the recent game time to his peers.
  7. 3 days after a cup final, we should be too strong for them, injuries permitting.
  8. Ainsworth's goal is one of our best this season. Equaliser sums up what Sutton is all about. All season, we've been handicapped by two poor keepers. If we can get Ramsden, Hammell and Carswell fit, we should be able to manage our inadequacies for the remainder of the season.
  9. Would love to see Gordon playing again. However Kello is a safer bet for us.
  10. Got to be content with the point given the injuries. Interesting to see Chris Cadden get some game time again. Given his age, he seems to have jumped the queue a bit. With Dundee United looking good in recent weeks, we need Ramsden, Hammell, Carswell and Anier available for the run-in.
  11. Happy to accept 4,000 fans singing sectarian bile.
  12. Why would we want Dempster as SFA president? Motherwell were happy to get into bed with Sevco and keep them in the SPL when much of the corruption was out in the open. Fuck wasting our time on Rangers, they'll always rise to the top. There is a far more pivotal media driven agenda that this country should be looking to eradicate in advance of Sept 18th.
  13. Murray laboured trying to catch a missed place pass soon after coming on. He settled well enough soon after. Although Hearts done nothing to try and exploit a right sided centre half playing at left back.

    Hearts

Faddy best player on park but really enjoyed some of the football from Vigurs.
  15. Think Steelboy is pointing towards the likelihood that we won't have both Hollis and Neilson on the books next season.
  16. That's an interesting stat given some of the drubbings we've had. They've been pretty stuffy opposition for us up until today.
  17. Much needed 3 points. We pretty much strolled through that game with Vigurs and McFadden pulling the strings. Good to see Leitch make his full debut and Murray/Cadden come off the bench. Hollis had a couple of wobbles but by and large the defence were more at ease with his presence. Hearts were absolutely brutal. Locke is a terrible manager.
  18. Lasley is out of contract, must keep for obvious reasons. Hammell will stay for same reasons although his legs aren't lasting as well as Keith's. Resigned to losing Hutch on a free. I'll be pleased if McManus and McFadden stay but wouldn't push the boat out. We need to have scope for bringing in young hungry players that have have sell-on potential. I'd be looking to offload Neilson, Lawson and McHugh if at all possible. Are Moore, Erwin and Murray under contract?
  19. Agreed, Lasley is defying his age with the way he gets about the park. He's continuously improved his own game in recent seasons to compensate for the loss of Jennings and then Law. I'd fear going into a game without him. Poty by some distance.
  20. Wasn't sure whether or not Cummins was capable of making the grade but signing McManus has been hugely detrimental to the most important year of development for a youngster that we opted to reward and invest in.
  21. In the past, I have been critical of McCall for not giving Lawless et al a shot off the bench when we have been cruising games. His instinct is to favour senior pros. This season however, given our lack of options, I'd like to think he'd give youngsters a chance if they were good enough. I doubt be want to rely on the likes of ZFA and Vigurs. Moore is by far the most exciting prospect but even he looks out his depth at the moment. It would appear that the quality isn't there and therefore more scrutiny is required of the coaching and scouting framework. For a club that budgets on selling a player and finishing top 6, our precarious financial position will be unhinged by one poor season. Despite the rhetoric from the club, there isn't enough investment in youth to protect the future of our club. By and large, McCall and the Board have steered us to a highly enjoyable few years, treated to some relatively quality on the park. However, when all the proceeds of lofty league positions are shelled out on player bonuses, you have to worry about the sustainability of the club.
  22. We were fortunate to beat then at tynecastle and our form has deteriorated since. Could be in a bit of bother on Saturday. Judging by McCalls comments he'll have to make a few changes. 1-1.
  23. And not the only poor signing. Kerr, Vigurs and Lawson have all failed to do the business for one reason or another. The fact we are where we are is testament to McCalls coaching and motivation.
  24. Bad few days that most of us seen coming. When you have a squad as unbalanced as ours, you're going to come up short when injuries kick in. Slightly concerning but unsurprising that none of the kids have been given a chance and we continue to gamble with Lasley and Carswell. We're always going to concede goals in the absence of a competent keeper so unless Anier and Ainsworth hit a contract spinning purple patch, it's going to be a helluva tough battle for third. Must win on Saturday.
  25. Hopefully a sub or two at the break. Currently don't have the players on the park that are capable of changing a game.
