  1. Didn't get too excited about the draw today as more often than not, we tend to lose when we know who our next opponents would be. As it turns out, not the best of draws. If we do manage to get by Inverness though, I'd take Falkirk. A decent wee away day. Kilmarnock are just dreadfully boring at Rugby Park and would no doubt beat us 1-0 or 2-0. Hibs certainly getting the rub of the green so far.
  2. Think he's jumping due to the chairman asking Kevin Kyle about his thoughts on team selection. Don't see him walking away without a payout mind you.
  3. I think your right Melvin with regards that tournament but not 100% sure. I have however seen him play for the U21s, Malpas may have been in charge at the time, and he struck me as an ineffective and lightweight right winger. May well have came on a lot since then but I'm sceptical. I very much doubt he is any better than Humphrey. Were we no linked with him before?
  4. I've sat in various areas of the East stand over the years, tending to sit towards the Cooper end in recent years. The best days though were when you used to get a right good atmosphere at the very end of the East Stand and it was absolutely jam packed on many an occassion. This wass in the era when Aberdeen were beating us 6-5, Ayr knocking us out the cup, Hearts game getting abandoned and beating Celtic 3-2, drawing 3-3 the following year. Really fond memories in terms of atmosphere. Between the ages of 11 and 13 I sat in the Cooper, only really enjoyed 1 half of footnall though as the view wasn't great when we were attacking the South Stand. At the St Johnstone game the other week, I returned to the Main Stand for the first time since a cup relay against Ayr in 1992. Fuck it was dismal, worst 'atmosphere' I have ever experienced at a football game. If I had a season ticket in there I'd have lost complete interest in fitba by now.
  5. I'd like to think the club are well clued up on this. Slane is an exception to a host of talented kids that have commited their future to Motherwell over the years. As Al B indicates, it would appear Motherwell have been powerless on this occassion.
  6. Without knowing the facts, my instincts tell me that McGhee is the one that has fucked us over. Slane should have been offered a professional contract during McGhee's 2nd year. As we all know, McGhee had his eyes on another job and was more than likely, trying to pull a fly one. Since then, Slane has had his head turned and it would appear that he has his heart set on running down his YTS so that he could move to Celtic this summer. For once, the only blame you can direct towards Motherwell is that too much faith was placed in McGhee.
  7. If he is denying that its a striker, then I have no doubt it will be McGlinchy then, as first thought.
  8. So under the conditions of McCart's move to Celtic, he has to wait for Paul Slane running down his YTS contract before making an official approach?
  9. Will we be entitled to some sort of development fee when Celtic sell him onto a diddy English team?
  10. Was never going to stay with us beyond this season. Proper wee uneducated tattie muncher. Don't blame McCart at all, clearly rates the boy and is solely fulfilling his role at Celtic.
  11. Few years since I've been up in Inverness but on that occassion it was a bus from Perth onwards and there was plenty of bevvy on that. Only issue was the bog being out of order and the Polish driver no understanding 'I need a pish.'
  12. Mind we were after him in the twilight of his playing career? That was depressing enough. Credit where it's due, he has done a very good job at St Mirren. I just canny stand watching his team.
  13. Agreed. He has the potential to be a competent SPL centre half but he could so easily go the same way as Willie K. Not good enough to be playing week in week out for us yet.
  14. Moore would only be a short term deal. If fit though, he could offer invaluable experience to Reynolds/Hutchison/Saunders. Whats the script behind the injuries Hutchison has suffered? I'd love him to be playing week in, week out. Meanwhile, I'm intrigued to see what right back we go after.
  15. How much did Hertz get for Berra? Reynolds is worth a million at least. I think he will be offski though.
  16. Fair enjoyed it last night despite the defeat. Battled away, deserving at least a point but we lacked any guile up front. To be fair to Hearts, they were well organised at the back. Was hoping we would maybe see a resurgance from Ross Forbes last night but it just didn't materialise. Was there any need for Ruddy to rush off his line? Don't thinkso. O'Brien MOM.
  17. I'd definately say the latter mate. Think he thrives upon brainwashing the youngsters and fears the older heads will see right through him, as they did. I imagine Craigan, Lasley and Sutton were reinstated on a Saturday as a parting 'get it up ye' from Jim Gannon.
  18. 2 years ago today then. Time to remember our captain who gave absolutely verything for the club we love. I hope you are resting in peace Phil.
  19. Prediction for tomorrow: Hertz 0 -3 'Well (Craigan, Lasley, McGarry). Seriously though, I hope there are a few chants tomorrow for the likes of Craigan and Lasley. Time to show our appreciation for the guys that have burst a gut for Motherwell throughout their careers.
  20. The truth is that Jim Gannon is a bigger wank than Mark McGhee. Time to move on and cherish the prospect of having a manager who has the clubs interests at heart.
  21. Keep Ruddy and the Juke. Bring in Steve MacLean and a right back.
  22. Fair play to the likes of Steelboy who had worked out Gannon from the very start and was taking pelters for it. The happy clappy club were well and truly taken for a ride.
  23. Like McGhee, Gannon will never reach the top. His ego will get in the way.
