  1. I'd definately say the latter mate. Think he thrives upon brainwashing the youngsters and fears the older heads will see right through him, as they did. I imagine Craigan, Lasley and Sutton were reinstated on a Saturday as a parting 'get it up ye' from Jim Gannon.
  2. 2 years ago today then. Time to remember our captain who gave absolutely verything for the club we love. I hope you are resting in peace Phil.
  3. Prediction for tomorrow: Hertz 0 -3 'Well (Craigan, Lasley, McGarry). Seriously though, I hope there are a few chants tomorrow for the likes of Craigan and Lasley. Time to show our appreciation for the guys that have burst a gut for Motherwell throughout their careers.
  4. The truth is that Jim Gannon is a bigger wank than Mark McGhee. Time to move on and cherish the prospect of having a manager who has the clubs interests at heart.
  5. Keep Ruddy and the Juke. Bring in Steve MacLean and a right back.
  6. Fair play to the likes of Steelboy who had worked out Gannon from the very start and was taking pelters for it. The happy clappy club were well and truly taken for a ride.
  7. Like McGhee, Gannon will never reach the top. His ego will get in the way.
  8. Is this no Monday? I genuinely don't know what fucking day it is.
  9. Quite happy with the imminent arrival of Brown. Safe pair of hands that will guide us through to the end of the season. Furthermore, he has a soft spot for Motherwell and knows what we are all about. I just wish he was ten years younger. My concern lies with the future of the players though. Who is going to commit to a new contract when they don't know who the manager would be. In an ideal world, I'd like to have seen McCart come in as No 2 just now, with a view to him taking over in the summer. Too risky for McCart though to ditch his cushy number at Celtic.
  10. My opinion of him has turned round dramatically in the last few years, probably since the appointment of Mark McGhee actually. Only criticism I would have over the Gannon saga is why appoint him in the 1dt place if he wasn't signing a contract. Clearly this is why Hibs didn't offer him the job.
  11. Not got time to read through the thread just now but I mentioned a month or so ago that if Gannon were to leave, I'd love George Burley. Interesting times ahead. Given the nature of Gannon's departure, I hope Boyle has got someone lined up to deal with the transfer window. If not, we could be in the shit.
  12. Fuck, I knew nothing about this until coming onto this site just now. Pretty chuffed I must admit. Sensed for a while that he hasn't been totally commited to Motherwell. Take a bow John Boyle.
  13. I think he could be away shortly. I think Gannon may have done so well at Stockport because of the emotional tie he had to the club and community. At Motherwell though, it strikes me that he has no fire in his belly. I do believe that he thinks about the game in the correct manner and I'm greatful to have seen so many yopungsters introduced to the first team but things are quickly turning sour. I think Gannon may have realised that he doesn't want to stay with Motherwell for 3/4 years and is therefore ready to chuck in the towel with regards to establishing a long term future for the club.
  14. Hard to see anything other than 2 defeats to be honest; Hearts have found some form and Accies will turn the game into a battle. Tag a Scottish Cup defeat on the back of that and we really will be in trouble.
  15. Made a c**t of this, not clocking that the tenner offer was only available until Xmas eve. Wish I had paid more attention to this thread.
  16. As I mentioned the other day, while I would love to see Gannon's philosophy in football come to fruition, this is unlikely to ever materialise as Gannon will either move elsewhere or we will get embroiled in a relegation battle. Furthermore, given his post match comments tonight, how can he get everyone to believe in his style of play when he comes out and slates the players after the game? If he is interested in the long term, he should be protecting the players; not saying they are incapable of keeping a clean sheet against anyone.
  17. Jim O'Brien. Far too greedy at times but he at least he threatened to do something. Wrongly substituted imo.
  18. What is the bigger picture though? We are going backwards at the moment. On the back of a 6-1 spanking, such a heartless performance deserved to be booed at full time.
  19. I'm hoping Gannon is as scunnered as he sounded on the radio tonight because at this present moment, I'd be happy to see him walk. I was happy to see the experienced called back into the starting lineup today but as soon as the game kicked off I feared a dismal afternoon beckoned. First and foremost, there was no sign of the passing culture on show today. More worringly however, the team clearly lacks fitness and there is no heart in the team. St Johnstone are nothing special but it was clear to see that every player was fighting for the jersey and their manager. Without doubt, Gannon looks to have lost the dressing room. And is any wonder why when your leader prefers to publically criticise his players rather than shoulder the responsibility?
  20. Steve Ferguson was another in the Offiong mould. And as much as he turned out to be a twat, Brian Kerr should be nowhere near that team. He would stroll into the Underachievers XI though.
  21. I applaud Gannon for what he is trying to do. We could do with a character like him running Scottish football. I fear however that his philosophy in the game will never quite come to fruition at Fir Park because either he will move on or we will get embroiled in a battle towards the bottom of the table.
  22. Motherwell is all I ever knew as a kid. All I really remember from my first game is my dad making me wear 2 pair of trousers because it was baltic and I always had the cold as a nipper. Game was against Aberdeen, pretty sure Jess and Bett scored in a 2nil defeat. Jan 89 apparently? First away game sticks in my mind cleary, Ayr United in the Cup and we were sitting in the main stand with mostly ayr fans. Brian Martin getting us a 1-1 draw, Ally Graham scored a belter IIRC.
  23. Really need to go back to the 90s for genuine quality in defence with the likes of Martin, Mio, Nijholt, Boyd and McKinnon.
  24. ...................Smith Corrigan Craigan Delomeaux Hammell ..A. McCormack Brannan Pearson .....McDonald Porter McFadden Ross McCormack, Elliott and Lasley all unlucky to miss out on my selection. Clarkson & Quinn would probably make the bench. Fingers crossed Ruddy is mentioned in a decade's time but 4 months work at present doesn't merit a starting berth.
  25. This time next week, it could be very much believable. Fingers crossed we return to some form but if we keep persisiting in playing the way we have been, I can only see us going backwards.
