  1. Is it just me, or are less folk making the trip than I would have imagined. Seems to have been a lack of chat about going up there. As for the game, geting one over McGhee in our first clash at Pittodrie would be just too good to be true. I'm therefore going to predict a 2nil defeat. If we win however, either with a last minute winner or 3nil masterclass, I'll die a happy man. Jim Gannon's Motherwell Army!
  2. Coke, O'Brien, Hutchison, Forbes and Slane. Contract offers should be on the table now.
  3. If we ever get the tannoy fixed, this could be the way forward http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Club-news/2009/...ylist-announced
  4. Tremendous viewing yesterday albeit our change in tactics at the beginning of the 2nd half made nervous. I think Humphrey looked a lot last week with Murphy & co feeding him balls that cut out the fullback. Anyway, good solid performances from everyone in conjunction with a sparkling Jim O'Brien made for a very comfortable victory. Looking forward, the challenge for Gannon is to keep the feet of these young guns firmly on the ground, while getting new contracts for the lads before poison like Willie MacKay starts sniffing around. In the meantine however, I love watching a group of enthusiastic talented youngsters who seem to thrive upon pulling on a 'Well jersey and playing some lovely fitba.
  5. Never trusted the guy from early on. Shame it took soooooo long for so many of you to see through him.
  6. I speculated during the week that it would be an Everton player. Gannon seems to have closely tracked the progress of youth players in Scouseland in particular.
  7. Given that our pre-match fears focused on the inevitability of Kyle scoring, then Craigan and Hutchison deserve a helluva lot of credit for the manner in which they limited the impact of both striker. MOTM has to go to O'Brien, his touch, trickery and delivery were exceptional today. On top of all his skill, the boy runs his balls off week in, week out. really deserved a goal today to top of a blinding performance. Hopefully he is saving his goals for McGhee next week.
  8. Ex Premiership striker signs for Accies. Leon Knight. I'd have been pretty excited if he had signed for us.
  9. Eh? Colin Nish is the very man to knock it down for Stokes. Hibs have the potential to be very good going forward with Nish, Stokes, Riordan, Benji, Zemmamma & a couple of excellent young kids (Byrne & Wotherspoon) in their ranks.
  10. Fuck, hadn't heard that. My hibbee mates at work will be creaming themsleves this morning.
  11. Decent shout from P&B: http://www.burnleyfootballclub.com/page/Pr...3~47756,00.html
  12. Read up on the boy yesterday when I had a hunch that we would be going for an Everton boy. Hope its not him tbh.
  13. Nah, I'm talking shite. Thought I had read that first time round.
  14. Given the fact that he is been on trial I reckon its a safe bet that he isn't a known name. Nevertheless, I'll have a guess at Jose Baxter from Everton.
  15. Probably so mate but Everton have a few decent prospects waiting in the queue behind vaughan and Anichebe. I just mentioned the two scouse teams as Gannon seems to know that particular neck of the woods very well.
  16. Hibs have been monitoring the Stokes situation ever since Hughes arrived. Reckon they will go for him if Benji departs. Stokes is on big money though. I imagine our signing target will be an Everton or Liverpool youth.
  17. I cetainly hope so. He would be fantastic for us.
  18. Agreed. Some real lows during that year but it was worth it. While I don't think we are in danger of finisg bottom of the pile this year, I sense a similar season it terms of losing games that we deserve to win, while there will be weeks where the young guns just fail to turn up.
  19. I'd be delighted to see that starting lineup but would want to see O'Brien playing wide right and Sutton in behind Murphy.
  20. I agree mate so would you then go with just Coke and Forbes in the midfield? I'd be tempted to go with that but it does leave our somewhat insecure defence open to greater pressure.
  21. There was a consensus going round that Killie would struggle this season due to their financial woes. At the end of the day though, they are one of the few teams in the league who have not been weakened over the summer. Too early to be predicting a starting lineup but on the back of Saturday I'd be looking to move Reynolds to left back and maybe put Jennings in midfield. Most importanly however, Gannon needs to work out he can accomodate Murphy in a central role.
  22. In for a tenner nae bother yesterday.
  23. Its going to be a rollercoaster of a season. Murphy for me. He needs to be playing up front though. He looked a completely different player in the 2nd half.
