  1. A wee bit of quality and composure from McKinstry. Begs the question why was he warming the bench in the first place. Surely must be ahead of Shields?
  2. Sorry disagree. Solhem and Penney were the culprits. Lamie had stepped out but these two didn’t and played Nisbet onside. If they had just stepped out together with Lamie then Nisbet would’ve been offside.
  3. I really feel sorry for Kevin Van Veen. Week in week out he gets little or no support. There are too many poor players around him for him to be effective - Shields, Slattery, Cornelius, Goss and Spittal have contributed the square root of f*ck all - again.
  4. If we are to win this game, Van Veen will need to score a hat-trick because it’s certain our defence won’t be able to keep a clean sheet!
  5. OUR HOME FORM Puts us 12th in the league - 1 win & 2 draws from 8 games. OUR AWAY FORM Puts us 3rd in the league - 4 wins & 2 draws from 11 games. Only the OF have better away records. Maybe we should apply to play our remaining games away from Fir Park.
  6. Yes. Your point is? Did you see McGinn today?
  7. How anybody can prefer McGinn to O’Donnell is beyond me.
  8. Have to feel for our strikers as we’ve got nobody that can pick them out with decent passes.
  9. How inept are we in and around their penalty area?
  10. It’s utter crap. Just about every one of our lot just hoofing the ball in whatever direction they happen to be facing!
  11. Found this factually correct but laughable comment on the official website: “Steven Hammell’s side currently occupy 10th in the table however are only eight points off fourth.” 🤣🤣🤣
  12. I’m afraid Stevie Hammell is a victim of what is called “The Peter Principle”. This is a concept in management developed by Lawrence J. Peter which observed that people in a an organisation tend to rise to a level of respective incompetence - they are promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another. The only way Stevie Hammell will lose the manager’s job will be if he resigns. That time may be close as the prospect of 0 points from our next 3 games is looming large.
  13. Fantastic servant to Hibs. I remember going to watch us play St. Johnstone at the old Muirton Park. We lost 2-0 and Jimmy got both goals. Not long after he joined us. For somebody lacking in height he was fantastic in the air and could get well above most defenders particularly from a standing position. He scored a fair few goals for us and with Peter Marinello, Vic Davidson, Bobby Graham & Willie Pettigrew he was part of the best front line I’ve ever seen at FP. RIP Jimmy.
  14. Could’ve brought on either Tierney and/or Moult up front with Van Veen and forced them into only having one forward up. Oh and if Moult isn’t fit then why was he on the bench?
  15. Morris and Maguire on!! FFS real match winning subs. Hammell has shat it. Trying bottle up the middle of the park and hang on to 1-0. That’s right out of the Alexander playbook!
  16. We’re against 10 men and they have 2 up whilst we have only 1 up. and they are dominating us. Hammell needs to get the finger out and get this lot onto the front foot. We are no where good enough to sit on a 1 goal lead.
  17. Our league record at Tannadice doesn’t make for happy reading: P95 W18 L43 D34 GF95 GA159 An 19% win rate and a -64 goal difference! Ugh!
  18. Our next 3 games: Dundee Utd (a), Hearts (a), Celtic (h). We’ll get zilch from that lot. The relegation bells now well and truly ringing loudly at Fir Park. Nobody to blame for this situation but the board. Clearly intended to start the season with Alexander as manager. Let him make all the pre-season arrangements, downsize the squad and bring in new signings etc. Panicked (under pressure from support?) after the two European ties with Sligo Rovers and sacked him. Clearly had no plans in place for a replacement. Then go through an “interview process” only to offer the job to the academy director, a rookie with little or no experience for the job. If, (and it’s a big if) there’s anybody left on the board with a semblance of common sense they should now be quietly looking around for an experienced manager to either: (1) Come in on a short-term basis to help Stevie Hammell out; OR (2) To take over and allow Stevie Hammell to go back to his job as academy director. And there’s no point in saying we can’t afford to do this because the cost of relegation means we can’t afford not to do it.
  19. He who pays the piper calls the tune. In other words, TV dictates when and at what time matches are played. This will likely mean the gate for the game will be much reduced from what it might have been. It won’t happen, but the TV company should be told to stump-up more cash to compensate.
  20. You might even say it’s imperative when you see our 6 fixtures after the Ross County game: Hearts (H); Celtic (A); Hibs (A); Rangers (H); Aberdeen (H) Dundee Utd (A). All the “big 6 city clubs”. It’s a tall order to try and get points from that run.
  21. Our away record in the league against Ross County: P16 W7 D3 L6 GF20 GA 23 Very close one to call.
  22. In the 6 games Burton have played this season Moult has played a total of 65 minutes. On that basis he can’t possibly be match fit so it may be some time before we see him playing.
