Totally agree. I’d like to think that we’ll avoid the very bottom as we are still 10 points clear of St. Johnstone but I think we’re now odds-on for the play-off spot.
-
That the nub of it. Far too many poor players in the one squad. I don’t doubt they are all doing their best but the sad truth is they are not cut out for professional football. If there are still any doubters out there that think we won’t end up going down I trust this display will serve to dispel the doubt.

We’ve had the lions share of possession but created heehaw and we look very vulnerable on the counter. We’ll never break them down playing like this. Far too slow and ponderous in our build-up and playing everything in front of them with no penetration. No contrast up front as Watt and Armstrong are too similar. I’d take Watt off and get Maswanhise on as a foil for Armstrong who seems more mobile and fitter than Watt.

The only smoke will be from the ground-staff burning leaves.

It’s an old cliche and dear knows how many times I’ve used in reference to the Dossers, but this Saturday’s game against Ross County is definitely a must win. Lose, they’d only be 2 points behind us and we’d be sucked into a scrap to avoid the play-off spot. Win, we’d be 8 points clear of them and that should be enough to guarantee we are not involved in any relegation shenanigans. COYW!

Finishing in the top 6 and maybe getting into Europe are for the birds. The top priority for whoever ends up as manager must be to arrest the current slump and ensure we stay out of the dogfight that’s developing below us.

As per the OF usual modus operandi, they’ll be trying to get him by offering the least amount they think they can get away with. Tell them the asking price starts at £4M cash; no player swaps or instalment crap and that it’s non-negotiable!
-
It would help if we had a midfield! Sure the defence isn’t great but they get zero help from the midfield, which should be our first line of defence when the opposition have the ball. I don’t think central defenders should be asked to make tackles 30 yards from their own goal. That task falls to the midfield players but far too often they just funnel back on top of the defenders offering no or little protection.
-
It is, but it’s not helped by having no midfield to try and stop them being continually swamped.

Not surprised. Fans voting with their feet. Why spoil Sunday by subjecting yourself to self-flagellation. I’m a season ticket holder and I haven’t gone nor am I watching it on TV - having a pleasant afternoon out with the Mrs instead.

It’s been alleged that “abuse” was directed at Kettlewell during our home game against Aberdeen which upset members of his family. I assume they would’ve been seated in the main stand when this happened so that begs the question as to what the security/stewards did about it? It’s more likely than not that the perpetrators are season ticket holders so it should’ve been a simple matter of having them escorted them from their seats, taking their details and then have the club write to them with letters of rebuke with a warning as to their future conduct.

I’m afraid to say the latest soap opera being played out at FP has left me feeling quite indifferent towards the club I’ve supported all my life. I feel as though I’m watching a re-run of something that has been acted out far too many times in the past 10 years. Since Stuart McCall left in 2014 we are now looking to appoint our 7th manager. That’s pretty close to a new manager every 1.5 years and too many of these have been shown to be wrong and in very quick time. For me this smacks of amateur hour by those “running” the club and recent events have given me no reason to believe they are competent enough to get it right this time around.

Another media spin doctor with a one-sided view of recent events. Kettlewell must be well chuffed at the way this is playing out. It must be very quiet on the OF news front just now as the “mainstream” Scottish sports comics seem to have nothing else to report on but our wee provincial club. Put this to bed now. For good or bad Kettlewell has gone and the club now needs to move on.
-
Let me say at the outset, that abuse from fans, in whatever form, towards anyone in the employment of their football club should not be tolerated. I harbour no ill-will toward Mr Kettlewell but I firmly believe that he has done a fantastic snow job with his resignation and likely gotten exactly what he wanted from it. All of the reactions from the football media and football fraternity towards him have been highly positive and in his favour and allowed him to walk away with his football reputation intact. Bravo!!
-
Spot on. As far as I can tell he’s the only one that’s taken the time to look behind the curtain and set out the statistics that demonstrate how poorly we are actually performing.
-
I think that’s the nub of the matter - he’s a coach not a manager and there’s a huge difference. If he and his family have been experiencing personal abuse from our supporters then that is to be utterly condemned. I used to have a season ticket in the centre stand section above the dugouts and you wouldn’t believe some of the abuse that comes from there so if his family have attended games recently it’s quite likely they’ll have heard some of this. However I doubt very much that this would be sufficient to force him to resign. As some have posted it does appear to be the lot of being a football manager - look at the abuse the Spurs fans have been giving Postecoglu recently. In the past weeks as results weren’t in his favour he did show signs that he was feeling the pressure of the job - regularly arguing with match officials, getting yellow cards, a red card leading to a touchline ban and rumours of a bust-up with a senior player at half-time during the recent cup tie at Perth. For me I think perhaps deep down he sensed that his direction of travel with the club wasn’t going the way he would’ve liked and that maybe he wasn’t able to get the players up and onside with him anymore. I wish him all the very best for the future but if he’s being honest with himself then perhaps he’d be better suited to a coaching position or assistant manager.

Quite simply, the man’s a fraud. Oh and if the board are doing their job properly, they should have him in for a discussion about the team’s present form and what his plan is to stop the bleeding.
-
Duncan Ferguson available. Was doing a decent job up at ICT up until they went into administration.
-
I don’t know about the dressing room (although there was rumour of a bust-up with Casey last week) but judging by the fans reactions last week at Perth and on here, and again on here this evening I would say that he has lost the fans for sure.
-
Won’t be sacked - board has allowed him to bring even more deadwood into the club.
-
Apart from the score this performance is every bit as poor as last week.
-
That’s us now played 3 clubs who were at the bottom of the league table and in dire form and we haven’t laid a glove on any of them - Hibs. Hearts, St. Johnstone. Since we beat St. Johnstone on 9th November we’ve played 12 games- W3, D2, L7, scored 13 goals, conceded 24. And we’ve now only had 1 win in our last 8 games. Anybody that thinks that we’re not in trouble and heading for the bottom 3/4 is sadly deluded.
-
Ditto. They’ve spent their hard-earned ££ and turned in great numbers only to be served up something you could see in a under-12 game down the local part. Sorry but IMO he has taken us as far as he can with his lack of coaching ability the board really need to be seriously looking to get him out the door. I still can’t fathom why the guy in the other dugout today couldn’t get a gig with us. Since he arrived at Perth he has got them playing a decent possession and passing game and using the full width of the park. Us?! We are still persisting with a form of football that couldn’t win us a raffle.
-
I assume we’ll now implement Plan B which is actually more of Plan A!!
-
St. Johnstone know we can’t hurt them and will see this out no bother.
