Some very good ideas and suggestions. I think we need to do something about our training facilities. From the very little I know about it, the POD stand has become problematic due to increased costs involved in patching it up to ensure we get our ground safety certificate. And yes we need to continue putting money into the development of young players for the future.

What are the thoughts on what the club should do with the transfer fee monies received for Lennon Miller.

To be honest after the first half it always had the look of 0-0 about it.

I cannot believe that we knocked back a bid of £800K for Stamatelopoulos. He couldn’t score a slate!

The manager’s preferred playing style is laudable but our midfield is too soft and easy to play through and we don’t have defenders that are capable of playing this way. However our season won’t be defined by results against the OF.

Worrying for him that there’s been no suitable concrete offer so far.

Was really pleased with the way the manager wants us to play and that he stuck to his guns even when it looked like we weren’t going to score from open play tonight. And great to see us finally convert chances from that good play. As others have posted it was night and day from the drivel we were subjected to by the previous two managers. It’s football the way it should be played and long may it continue. COYW.

Yes but in 3.5 games against lower league opposition we have only managed to score 5 goals and lost 3 and if as seems likely, this ends up a draw and Morton win the penalty shootout then we could be out.

Agreed. I think Slattery would be better playing just behind a front two. Our midfield is too lightweight and will be easily bullied out of games in the league. I think we badly need a ball-winner to stiffen the midfield up and give it some bite.

The manager is trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. He has inherited a poor squad of players and is trying to get them to play in a way which the majority are inherently incapable of. Its going to be a long hard slog of a season!

Totally agree. Not the new manager’s fault as McGhee had already signed a pre-contract agreement some time ago. But, yes another drain on the wage bill that can’t contribute.

There’s only 2 trophies we can win in a season - this one and the Scottish Cup but its beginning to look like we can write this one off.

McGinn like O’Donnell, is a full-back not a centre-back and Gordon is a bit of a bomb scare. We don’t have a decent centre back at the club and I think the manager is experimenting a bit with the defenders he’s inherited. I would hope he has a few irons in the fire as regards central defenders.

Not a great performance to be sure but the manager has now seen in a competitive match, just how poor our central defenders are.
