  1. Well no Iain. We still don't know the facts.
  2. Agreed. He never said that clubs should not have coronavirus cases. It was about cancelling games which is an entirely different matter. Now, should we ask for a cancellation thats more concerning, but as far as I know we have not.
  3. Indeed. All we can do now is wait and see whether the game is called off because we have less than 13 fit/available players and hope for the best.
  4. Yes but who would provide him with service given that he's a poacher.
  5. A bit rich of him to complain to us. Mo Ross didn't actually accuse St Mirren of anything. All he said was the rules allowed a club to take advantage of the situation. Is Tony Fitzpatrick saying thats impossible? As you say Allan perhaps it struck a nerve. I like that we're replying in private; thats the correct way do handle it. While we're on about public statements, it would be nice of Mr Fitzpatrick to apologise to Well fans as he has done to St Mirren fans, especially those who paid £12.50 minutes before public confirmation that the game was called off.
  6. That is my main gripe. One possibility is that test results arrived very late, which of course is an issue in itself. Although details of last Saturday's timeline are publicly very scant, it appears that our club was not really consulted and were only told officially by the SPFL at 12 pm or slightly after. I would have thought that as soon as St Mirren realised that they might have a real problem they would have rung Fir Park to tip us off before contacting the SPFL. That may have happened but from our club's scant comments that doesn't appear to have been the case. Surely the SPFL would have required medical confirmation before arriving at a decision and I doubt that St Mirren could have arranged that in 5 minutes.
  7. From his comments, it would appear that MFC is not happy with the way things were handled.
  8. If there is a significant lack of understanding by so many individuals Iain, then suggests a widespread problem. I was always taught that if one person didn't understand what you were saying then you and not they had the problem - ok thats a bit exaggerated, but you'll get the drift. The Covid 19 rules differ across Scotland and the UK and are complicated. Many folk, including myself, don't understand them all. Also ordinary folk and organisations within Scotland are also following different sets of rules and guidelines and that adds to the confusion. For example the media keeps referring to the additional measures applied to the "central belt". Thats wrong and misleading. This caused confusion in Fife, which although part of the central belt, is not subject to these extra measures. Guidelines for football differ both between leagues and also between other sectors/industries. Yes, there's understandable frustration too amongst fans and you're right in that. Yesterday St Mirren were still taking £12.50 from fans wanting to view the game on the box, minutes before the game was officially put off. Why couldn't they have suspended that process as soon as they knew they were going to press for a "postponement/cancellation" call it what you will. There's also frustration that the investigation into the Kilmarnock game, which was cancelled just over 3 weeks ago, has not yet reported back, at least publicly. In this pandemic, health must come first of course, but that doesn't mean to say issues like this should be ignored. So please don't be too hard on us.
  9. This compounds my suspicion that St Mirren was having a conversation with the SPFL without our knowledge. Hope I’m wrong.
  10. What was he saying? From the wording of our announcement, it’s not clear when we were informed of the cancellation or indeed who by. I’d hope St Mirren kept us informed before the SPFL informed us of their acceptance of their request for a postponement.
  11. He will be getting well paid for sitting on the bench. Don’t worry he’ll be ok.
  12. Self isolation maybe? Apart from that I believe they had one or two players who had non Covid related injuries. In ordinary times they may just have been fit enough to play but in these strange times...............
  13. I'm not questioning the accuracy of your reply, as I'm pretty confused about the Covid 19 guidelines, which are complex enough without the media errors we've heard and seen in the past week. Its interesting though that NHS GGC is following the UK Government's definition and not the Scottish Government's definition which is "For Covid 19, this includes everyone who has been less than 2 metres away from a confirmed case for 15 minutes or more." (No mention of the app).
  14. Absolutely. Yet another inconsistency in this horrible situation.
  15. We simply don’t know what took place and that’s for the investigation to determine. We can blame them IF they did not adhere to the guidelines. I’m not saying they did anything wrong but equally I ‘m not in a position to say they’re blameless. IF, and it’s a big if, they are up to something untoward I doubt very much they would make it obvious.
  16. Good points. Its the lateness and suddeness of the call off. I'd like to know if Fir Park was informed well in advance. As far as Joe Public is concerned there was no hint of this at all until a couple of hours before kick off.
  17. Pretty much it Allan. If a game is called off very late on, as this one was, there's clearly something wrong. I feel sorry for supporters who bought a one off TV game just minutes before the announcement. St Mirren should have announced the game was in some doubt far earlier. If delayed test results are the issue then the system is clearly failing. As I understand it, they also have some non covid 19 related injuries. I wonder if or when our club was first informed that the game was in doubt. It seems unlikely that St Mirren's infected players are all independent of each other. A "workplace based" incident again? No doubt, the rearranged game will coincide with us having an injury crisis and/or having to play 3/4 games a week. The SPFL and SFA really need to sort this out and quickly. Presumably St Mirren's next league game will also be called off due to self isolation guidelines. Why is this not a problem in England? Still no word of the SFA's investigation into Kilmarnock?
  18. Lets use this to our advantage and get streetwise. Instruct our wingers/crossers to fire the ball into the Saints' box at chest /head height and our target man to get in front of the defender and duck at the last moment.
  19. This will be his big chance..............................................if he is selected.
  20. Good news about Carroll - he should be back playing by the end of next month.
  21. Presumably thats why the outbreak was being investigated.
  22. Professor Leitch mentioned that Kilmarnock's outbreak was "workplace based" which is a bit different.
  23. Yes it’s Ian “Keeber Kennedy. A good player on his day.
