  1. You think we'll get that far? You'd hope that Killie's fixture schedule will benefit us but who knows. As things stand we'll do well to take it to penalties. Midifled and attack are decimated with injuries and look completely toothless and lightweight. Defensive midfield looks lightweight and they and the defence look disorganised. Still we look to have a decent keeper now. We can but hope.
  2. I've just watched the highlights, if you could call them that. We exhibited the same old problems of a deep lying disorganised midfield and defence and a toothless engine room. I ln those circumstances, any lone striker is going to struggle badly. I have to say though that Sevco's first goal looks offside. Their second, whilst a well taken goal was the result of defensive disorganisation. Cerny had all the time and room to pick his spot. Fixture fulfilled tick Thrashing avoided tick Red cards avoided tick One potentially serious injury though.
  3. Spread the word in Dubrovnik! I managed to stir up interest in our hotel about the Well. Enjoy.
  4. STV is no better. Nothing to hear move on......
  5. A typical goal that we lose in other words. Clyde's goal the other week?
  6. What sectarian bile? One more thing the BBC can't hear.
  7. An odd line up. How fit is Ap Stam? Still no Bamer???
  8. Yes it was a bad tackle and perhaps White was lucky to escape with a yellow card. Other than that County kicked Miller off the park. We remarked at full time that our physio would have to work overtime.

Aye, and hand dryers and soap dispensers in the toilets that actually work would help too.
  10. We have indeed Allan. Looking quite far ahead into October, its hard to see where our next point is coming from. Normally winnable games are going to be very tough indeed given our injury list. A winless run could extend for a month oir two and put SK under pressure. That said, new players like Ap Stam and Kofi Balmer might come good and we might sign a couple of midfield players on 6 month loans. That could change everything.
  11. If Shane Blaney is thought to be out for 4-6 weeks then with our luck, that probably means 8-10 weeks.
  12. I agree that Blaney is more consistent than Lamie and Mugabi, but I'd put his level at about 5 or 6 /10. On the basis of the games that I've seen this season, he put in poor performances against Montrose, Partick and Ross County. Although I've seen little of Balmer, I'd say that Blaney is the weakest of our central defenders. Its debatable, in my book, if he's good enough even for back up at this level. No doubt an honest pro though and he's probably doing his best.
  13. Released as a youth, I think. Never made the first team.
  14. I heard that too. Stayed longer than he intended to. He likes his signing on fees doesn't he?
  15. I'm not surprised. Blaney was the victim of a shocking challenge by Jordan White and Miller was targeted for special treatment and should have been taken off earlier for his own safety. Callachan?
  16. StJohnstone fans receiving plaudits from the BBC for creating a great atmosphere (letting off flares and smoke bombs). Blue smoke is great but claret and Amber smoke should be stopped.
  17. From the little I've seen of him, Stuparevic seems more like an out and out striker rather than being a skilful and creative baller in the Spittal mould.
  18. Probably stating the obvious but maybe the voting instructions should have said that the vote is confidential.
  19. Excellent candidates and I'm having dififculty whittling them down to 4. I'm trying to select a wide range of candidate views and backgrounds as thats what the Society needs. We don't want an echo chamber. I hope unsuccessful candidates will be contacted to enlist their help too.
  20. I've done a quick population comparison. The wider Paisley area, including Erskine, has a total population of about 192,000 whereas the Motherwell area has a population of about 190,000 (excluding Hamilton & East Kilbride etc). Precise comparisons are subjective and difficult. In essence both conurbations have pretty much the same population.
  21. I think Nicholson is out for "months", whatever that means. That being the case, I suspect we'll need to bring in 1 attacking midfielder on loan for say 6 months and 1 on a permanent deal. How easy that will be I don't know, but presumably planning for that began some time ago.
  22. I get that its a matter of definition but we could also include Bellshill, Carluke, Law, Shotts, Overtown, Holytown, Lanark, Allanton, Cleland. and the likes. I must do a comparison.
  23. Two very different areas and in its strictest sense we're comparing apples and oranges. In the main, Paisley is a single large town, whereas Motherwell isn't. Its a large combined urban area comprising several towns and villages a bit like Levenmouth or Stoke. Add in the likes of Wishaw, Netherton, Craigneuk, Newmains, Cambusnethan, Carfin, Newarthill, and New Stevenston and the picture changes somewhat.
