  1. Oh, much worse than ours. Much worse. As an entity, not individually of course, they lack humour and moan from start to finish. Going back as far as 1981, I recall them whacking us 6-1 at Tannadice in the Cup and the boos ringing out from the terraces. Its not often that happens at Fir Park. I also recall Jon Daly scoring for them against us at Tannadice and rather than cheer the goal they booed the ref for missing a "foul". Again our lot don't tend to do that. Apologies, I digress.
  2. Irrespective of which half United end up in, their fans will be moaning and grizzling.
  3. I think that's a pretty fair reflection of their attributes. No doubt SOD'S extension resulted from his appearance based option kicking in.
  4. If Hearts or Dundee United fail, then our main rivals for a top 6 place are St Mirren. Its going to be very tight, and might go down to the wire.
  5. Should the club or Society issue a short statement to correct the record?
  6. I had this game down as draw several weeks ago. St Mirren played exactly how we thought they would and perhaps our tactics weren't suited to counteracting them. MW will be learning all the time and he will be thinking about yesterday. Despite our long injury list there were still 2 surprise additional omissions yesterday in the form of Armstrong and Manwhanise, either one of whom might have made a positive difference. The media will be more than happy to take Robinson's opinion as fact. Thats the way it is for 88% of our senior clubs.
  7. Yes, they need to be called out, but there's no chance of the media doing that, especially if St Mirren are involved
  8. Game on. Slattery v St Mirren. Will they allow him to see the game out?
  9. Maybe MW didn't know what to expect from St Mirren. They're just doing what they're good at.
  10. There's wrist breaks and wrist breaks. He's probably fallen on it. 8 weeks isn't unreasonable for a bad break. My wife had a very bad break a few years ago. Her wrist had broken into umpteen fragments and she required a metal plate and a bone graft. We won't see him again this season.
  11. Yes. Celtic shot themselves in the foot. It was to be paid in installments, but Celtic announced the deal publicly before it was signed. We then went back to them and demanded it be paid 100% up front. We had them over a barrel and they knew it.
  12. I'll be shocked, but in a pleasant way, if we reap anything like £10 m for young Miller. I think someone is at it, but not sure who. Still an auction can only benefit us and the lad himself. The more top class names mentioned the better. More choice for the lad and more cash for him and us.
  13. Very touching video which shows the human side of being a footballer, which few fans get to see. Comes across as being a decent young man. He's certainly added something to the team since he's returned to the field. Good luck to him.
  14. Unfortunately not as wee as I used to be. Need to cut out the pies!
  15. Whilst this price deal is very welcome, let's not kid ourselves its being done for altruistic reasons. It's designed purely to boost the home crowd in the run in and thereby help their team to pick up much needed points. We're being included simply because we have to be.
  16. Good post Clackscat. I detest both sides of the arsecheeks and have been abused by fans of both of them equally over the years. Neither set is worse or better than the other. That said, I have good friends who support both of them and are reasonable in their views. However much I detest them, that emotion doesn't come anywhere near matching my love for the Well.
  17. An interesting article from the Herald on Jake Hastie https://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/24973525.hastie-storming-start-rangers-stutter-ayr-revival/
  18. You'd think not. Don't really want to go on about yesterday's man, but Brian Caldwell refused to answer a question about this at the AGM. I think that MW has now made his mark and is winning over the fans and probably the players after this result and performance. Not all of our managers can say they've won at Ibrox and this is only his 3rd game in charge.
  19. I honestly think that SK simply ran out of ideas and it was time for him to part ways with our club. He showed no signs of being able to change things and was not getting the best out of the squad. Thats quite apart from a dearth of entertainment. From reading comments on the AGM, I suspect he was given some kind of pay off, but thats pure speculation on my part. We've now moved on and our immediate on field future is looking somewhat brighter. Long may it continue.
  20. A great result today, which reflects well on our new management team and ther players. I still think we have the core of a decent team there. I haven't seen anything of the game so far but am looking forward to viewing it later. MW has done very well so far in a short space of time to get his fresh ideas across and the players have taken them on board. Far, far from the finished article but its a good start and we seem to turned over a new leaf. Not only are the results improving, so too is the entertainment value. Great to see our Viking and Tom Sparrow notch the all important goals. I did think our efforts on Wednesday would have emptied a few tanks but that doesn't appear to be the case. I just hope that we get the credit we deserve as opposed to Sevco being criticised but thats too much to hope for from our media. Credit to Sevco for organising an Armed Services day, but it appears they didn't involve our club or Society which was was a bit remiss of them. If I'm wrong I apologise. A great night to be a Well fan. Onwards and upwards. Success at Ibrox doesn't come too often so lets enjoy it.
  21. I don't suppose Viewpark is that far from Motherwell but it is part of the Glasgow conurbation and within the draw of Sevco and Celtic. Good for you! I began going to Fir Park because my family did and we lived not far from Fir Park in Parkhead Street. Only ever one team for me.
  22. What an interesting post. If you don't mind me asking, where were you brought up?
  23. I've not been a big fan of Moses, pigeon holing him as a penalty box striker end of. However I thought he looked a more complete player last night and caused Dundee considerable angst outside their box. That said, he came on as a sub against a tiring and somewhat sub standard Dundee defence.
