  1. The same issue that Dodge raised. I'm a bit puzzled though. Isn't this the case at other grounds though - Tannadice, McDiarmid Park, Dens Park, Dingwall, Inverness? In the past both sets of supporters have used Fir Park Street to gain access to our ground and shared toilets and kiosks. So whats the problem? Credit to the club for pursuing this.
  2. Absolutely. A lot of bodies stand to lose out financially if Rangers don't get promotion - we must take nothing for granted.
  3. We need to cool it. The job is only half done. Yes we're in control but a lot could yet go wrong. Its crucial that we don't lose an early goal on Sunday. Given their recent games I expected Rangers to tire badly tonight but they didn't and in fact finished the stronger side. The tie isn't over yet. I've supported the Well far too long to take things for granted.
  4. Great result tonight and beforehand I'd have been very happy to take a 2 goal advantage back to Fir Park.
  5. As will the other 11 Premiership clubs. Their fans however are a different story. Local Dundee fan however said he was solidly behind us.
  6. Not the news I was hoping for. Although we can only do it bit by bit, our back line needs a massive overhaul, and that involves the full backs. Josh Law is an honest trier but he's not the level we require.
  7. I understand that Dodge but we have had to share the same kiosks and toilets. Whats so special about segregated turnstiles?
  8. If writing an article like this surely it would have been easy and more legitimate to check with MFC rather than rely on third party comments about our club's position. Poor journalism.
  9. Absolutely. Only thing I would add is that the Record thinks that its customary support for the OF will help to bolster sales.
  10. Don't know about that. Faddy was finished, sadly, when he left us and Clarkson would not have solved our massive weaknesses in defence and midfield.
  11. Excellent point. Folks are forgetting or ignoring the fact that the club has not weeks or months to prepare for this game. As far as the away game is concerned its about 5 days maximum. Thats not taking into account negotiating time with Ibrox. Under such circumstances its very difficult to come up with watertight arrangements. Give the club a break.
  12. The amount of gate money the club will lose by not giving Rangers the entire South Stand is about £10,500 MAX. Probably much less if we take into account costs. A drop in the ocean compared to £1 million.
  13. Good post overall but I don't know that Barra does play 4-4-2. More often than not Sutton or Erwin plays up front with MacDonald or Moore playing between them and the midfield. That formation just doesn't suit Moore or MacDonald.
  14. An old old story. Been there, done it and got the T shirt.
  15. I doubt it. If they're like most folk these days all that matters is money and lots of it. A hefty bonus might do the trick.
  16. If thats the case then what do we do? There are two other options A) do nothing and hope for the best or B) Seek a new buyer. To date there hasn't been any genuine interest shown by a private investor. In my view we have to make a clear choice.
  17. Theres no chance of the Police or stewards taking action against interlopers. Cast your mind back to Helicopter Sunday - pre match the Police issued dire warnings to Celtic fans that they'd be hung drawn and quartered if they got into our stands. In the event they refused to take any action whatsoever. In terms of money we could easily cut Rangers allocation without much financial loss. Say we give Rangers 280 tickets - thats 4520 tickets less than the South Stand holds. 4,520 tickets at say £8 each = £36,160 gross income. Off that George Osborne will siphon off £7,232 leaving £28,928. That then gets split 2 ways with us receiving a mere £14,464 possibly before costs are taken into account.
  18. In order to increase membership, the Society now needs to be much more visible on matchdays. I know its often a question of resources but you can't beat face to face contact to get a message across. Online contact is fine as far as it goes but it has to meet and talk to non members and what better time to do than on matchdays.
  19. The only team we should be frightened of is our own.
  20. I certainly expected a poorer season this time but not nearly as poor as we have had - maybe finishing in 5/6/7 place? However the root cause of our demise this time was Stuart McCall's fundamental errors in the transfer /player market especially but not exclusively last summer. A prime example was Iain Vigurs. It was well known in footballing circles that the lad had a serious back problem and yet we still signed him. Our central midfield has been in need of major overhaul for a year or two and yet nothing was done about that. These are the kind of errors that have cost us big time.
  21. Once the Rangers Board have approved the appointment.
  22. Lets hope he treats it like a Scottish Cup tie.
  23. Absolutely. Some of them need to put on some muscle and weight if they are to make an impact. Weight training during the summer!! When faddy went to Everton he must have put on about 2 stones in weight in a year.
  24. He's played behind a lone striker a few times now and failed to make an impact each time. That just isn't his game and I was surprised he played there yesterday. In fairness to the lad he needs to play up front.
