A fine way to round off our last home game and worthy winners. Some cracking goals too. Almost 70% possession too. I thought our starting line up was overly cautious and the game was finely balanced until the red card. Killie posed our makeshift defence serious questions in the first half hour or so. I was gobsmacked that the rookie referee required VAR intervention before he showed a red card to Deas, but hey ho. From then until the break we were on top but lacked the pace and creativity to really trouble Killie. Some nice football in flashes but the final ball was missing and we seemed somewhat toothless. I did wonder if MW would change things before the break but he resisted that. Paton was like a fish out of water in that advanced role. His changes after the break did the trick and Armstrong gave us more bite up front. I thought the gaols would never come but good defending and Killie's good luck kept us at bay. Once the first went in I thought we'd get more and we did. 3 quality goals with Slattery's being the pick of the bunch. I'm a wee bit concerned that Ewan Wilson isn't really cut out for the wing back role - maybe a season out on loan next term? Callum Slattery had a patchy game but really came good in the second half. Not a bad performance, although there were weaknesses ie lack of pace and a suspect defence. I've rarely seen us have so much possession. We've sometimes struggled against 10 men so can't complain at a 3-0 win to seal 8th spot and the welcome additional cash that brings.

Just renewed my season ticket by phone. An easy process. I asked the member of staff who dealt with me about the online options. She admitted they were confusing but that was the way it was set up and couldn't be changed. For those with a swipe card who wish to renew, the correct option is to "collect at Fir Park" or so I was told. That way the card is simply updated electronically. This really needs to be sorted out, as the process should be as easy as possible.

Good post. My overriding memory of this this season is that its been a weird one, characterised by a generational injury list. As for Derek McInnes, be is beloved by the media not the fans and that counts for everything. With the exception of 2 maybe 3 or 4 clubs, the national media doesn't care about fans. Fans of different clubs have different perspectives. Our own support loves entertaining football and value for money. St Johnstone fans, for example, are very different. They tend to be more practical and crave results end of. Generalisations I know.

We need continuity and stability on the playing side. By and large we need players who are solid, reliable and good but not too good, otherwise they are head hunted by those further up the food chain. That plus a sprinkling of home grown talent. In other words just like the Wright era at Perth - maybe not in style though. That said, I agree with your point Greg. However, for better or for worse, they are with us for next season and we'll have to factor that in to our playing budget. It is what it is.

As things stand, I reckon we need somewhere between 6 and 8 new recruits over the summer. Exact numbers will depend upon a few OOC players like Casey and Seddon being offered and accepting new deals. MW will also know who he thinks can be improved. Jordan McGhee's position has also to be confirmed officially. A few uncertainties then. As of today I think we'll need: 1 left wing back 1 right wing back? 2 central defenders 2 midfielders, possibly 3, including a defensive destroyer and a replacement for Lennon Miller (not necessarily the exact same kind of player). 1 striker (a physical/ mobile target man)

I don't see either SOD or McGinn being starters next season. The defence needs a clear out, if contractually feasible. Our goals against tally but also the manner of the goals we're losing support that view. They'll be fine as squad back ups.

I think there was an option on his contract; maybe if he played X amount of games, which he's done due to the amount of injuries we've suffered.

It'll be us v Killie for 8th place. It was always going to be that way. Wednesday was always going to be an important game in that respect. As for today's result It is what it is. Hopefully it will help Herr Wimmer in assessing his squad for next season. A good start would be to build a new defence. That said, probably only one of them, Casey, would start if we had a full complement of defenders, which we don't. Short term pain long term gain.

Hopefully Liam Gordon will be deemed fit enough to play as we'll need all the help we can get to bolster our paper thin defence options.

I'm not hung up about numbers of retained players or new faces. What I am concerned about is structural weaknesses in the squad. Whether they're addressed by coaching or new arrivals is irrelevant. * injury prone squad: we need to bring in proven fit players * lack of pacy wing backs * we need to stiffen our central defence * we need to harden our midfield and make it more physical; some pace too wouldn't go amiss * we need a lethal striker (who doesn't?) and acquire a big target man I'm not overly concerned about losing Lennon Miller. Great prospect though he is, he doesn't seem to fit our system and has never been the type of player to set a match alight. It'll be interesting too to watch any young players coming through: Luca Ross Dylan Wells Mikey Booth Olly Whyte They're young but are they ready and good enough?

Thats exactly the option that I was looking for, but could not find it online in the dropdown list. Experienced the same problem last year and ended up renewing by phone. Was told the online options would be amended but they haven't.

Just hit a snag when trying to renew my season ticket online. I have a swipe card which I want to retain and use for next season. However the only options I can see are collection from Fir Park, post out, or get a digital version. Has anyone else come across this?

No, believe it or not, I didn't Allan. Our granddaughter and her partner both like them and we've been forced to thole a few of their tracks when visiting them. I'm not precious about music - each to their own. If some artist(s) give folk pleasure then thats fine by me.
