  1. Unless it's someone like Nelson Mandela, of course. There are many clubs the world over who do this. Barcelona are infamous for it.
  2. Fuck that, we're relegation candidates for sure. Get McCall to fuck. Where do we go from here?
  3. 1-0, good start despite Gollum doing his best to break up the game by the sounds of it.
  4. McCall was speaking at the St Mirren pre-match presser and he said that both guys agents have indicated that they're happy to extend their stay, but that if both or any of them left it would free up a wage to bring someone else in. What do you think? With the loan spells of Ainsworth being up on the 7th of January, and that of Anier being up on the 14th, if you were in charge of the decisions, what would you do? Keep one? Keep both? Or let both go?
  5. How's the weather then? Any chance of a call-off?
  6. The discounts should be extended to those who pay a lump sum up front only in my opinion. An option for a continual direct debit payment with nothing up front should also be available, providing those fans with only a say in the running of the club after, say, six months of continual payment.
  7. This game has a low scoring draw written all over it. 1-1.
  8. I assume Celtic are footing the bill for all repairs and suchlike?
  9. Cheers for that, it's much clearer now. I still don't understand why the club wouldn't implement an option to allow fans to invest on a monthly basis without the up front charge? Or has that been done already? I personally wouldn't have any use for the incentives as I'm based overseas, but having a say on the clubs future would be worth the direct debit every month alone.
  10. You're right actually, not sure where I got the £5,000 figure from. Even so, £1,000 is a lot of money to invest in something with no physical return, isn't it?
  11. I doubt the offers we get in January will be better. In fact, I'd guess they'll be worse.
  12. I'm a fair bit behind in catching up with this thread, but this here is something I believe I (and others hopefully) could get behind; I'd be all over the Claret membership in this scenario, which is something I would never have dreamed of entertaining with a £5,000 lump sum required up front. The lump sum is what is turning people off in my opinion. I know very few people with that kind of money to invest, especially with no monetary return.
  13. You mean the people who still think that we're shooting for a top six finish, and who would consider that to be a successful season?
  14. Their best bet would maybe be to try and expand their numbers enough to start another section at the other end of the east.
  15. I've often thought that myself. All we've heard from the Scottish sports media this season is how good Aberdeen are, and how they're basically stick-ons for 2nd spot in the league. We never get any more than a brief mention, usually something like "and Motherwell will be in there as well", which is fucking ridiculous considering where we've placed the past two or three years. As I said, I'd take a point, but a win is certainly not out of the equation. We can go into any game against any team in this league not called Celtic confident of taking points.
  16. And if we had the team that won the cup in '91 we'd be serious contenders for the league title. Fantasy football is great, isn't it? Unfortunately, we have none of that. We have what we have, which is a decent team thus far with a bit of potential to improve. We're sitting joint 2nd at the start of November in a season where I'd consider a top six finish our realistic aim. That's not too bad, especially if you buy into the Scottish media's belief that this seasons Aberdeen are the 2nd coming of Fergie's Dons and McLeans United all rolled into one big red bundle, and that they are the only real contenders for 2nd spot. We're doing not too bad, and long may it continue.
  17. I would consider a point from this game to be a good result considering who we'll have missing.
  18. To be honest, we'd have all said the same thing after seeing how Hibs performed against Celtic. Most teams up their game against Celtic, so how United did yesterday will have no bearing on how they do against us. I think we'll take a point from them.
  19. Yet we're sitting joint 2nd. Calm the fuck down.
  20. Big Mick gets the nod from me.
  21. The simple answer is we keep plugging away in the hope of securing a top six finish. After a summer where we lost the likes of Randolph, Hateley, Law, Humphrey, Ojamaa & Higdon we were always going to fighting against the tide no matter who we brought in. We've had a great few seasons of late, but that run is over. We're a club who need to secure a top six finish. Simple as that really.
  22. You're feeling fairly enthusiastic for that early on a Wednesday morning!
