  1. Ah, well, it looks as though my general view of him holds some water then.
  2. Perhaps. I dunno, I've just always disliked his demeanor. He could be the nicest guy ever in real life, so I'm not looking to slate the guy.
  3. In a strange way Hateley will be a perfect fit for Rangers, as there's always been something unlikable about him. I'm not sure what it is, but he's just easy to dislike. The one thing he has been for us is consistent.

Christ, we're all talking as if he's already away.

He said he had no ambition to manage at a higher level? Are you sure?
  6. That's true, but how many managers has he worked under at Celtic? None of them saw fit ( ) to give him a good run in the 1st team for a reason. I don't think all of them were blind to his abilities, were they? There must be a reason why he didn't get a crack?
  7. If stories of his personal life vices of smoking & drinking are true then no amount of games would have made any difference. I simply don't see him as someone we should be looking to take a gamble on. He won't come cheap, and that money could be used strengthening elsewhere in the squad.
  8. I don't think he was far wrong to be honest. McCourt has shown little bits of skill in flashes for Celtic, but he's nowhere near good enough to claim a regular place in any top SPL side. He's only afforded his cult status among the Celtic support because of his nationality and religion.
  9. Yeah, and guess who was responsible for that, Nicky? The same fuckwits who are trying to make Motherwell fans look bad.
  10. That looks more like an actual football crowd than most SPL crowds do! The authorities must have some secret plan to see football die in this country.
  11. Well past his best, questionable personal life, and too much of a passenger at times.
  12. You may want to fire up a link to the auction mate.
  13. Yeah, but Douglas is 41 years old. He shouldn't even be in the equation.
  14. As far as the home shirt goes, I don't think it'll be possible for the club to top the anniversary shirt that came out a while back. That top is cracking. Top notch design and material, and a timeless look with no sponsor splashed across the front of it. I doubt I'll be buying another replica shirt again as long as I have this one; It's basically perfect.
  15. I've never seen the guy play, but those stats reek of the kind of player we usually end up going for.
  16. Yeah, that has absolutely nothing to do with the point I was making, but well observed.
  17. Especially when you think that Celtic stand to lose a few players as well, such as Hooper and maybe Wanyama.
  18. As the thread title says, if you were given the blank cheque to re-sign one of the above players for another year, who would you choose? This isn't to say that the others would definitely leave of course, but rather is to see which player the fans (on this forum anyway) would most like to see stay. My vote goes to big Higdon. I feel that a player who's slotted so well into our side and who can provide the goals he can is pretty priceless. Strikers who do what he did this season aren't easy to come by.
  19. Aye, but that means nothing if Celtic aren't wanting him. McFadden can claim to be interested all he likes, it's Lennon who needs to be interested in him.
  20. I know that some Celtic fans will claim their side isn't fussed now that the league is in the bag, and indeed comments of that ilk have appeared on my Facebook already, but that Motherwell performance was one of our best this season in my opinion. Every player did their job, and put in 100% which is all you can ask. Even if we'd come away from this game with only a point I'd still have been proud of that team today. For a club with our fanbase and financial clout to finish 2nd in the SPL this season ahead of other clubs with more resources at their disposal is absolutely amazing. European football next season again, so we have that to look forward to. We'll lose players this summer, but we'll also have the excitement of seeing who McCall brings in. Personally, I can't wait.
  21. Well taken spot kick, and a nice little celebration as well. Understated and classy.
  22. That's a superb finish right there. Brilliant!
  23. Yeah, replacing the MFC lettering with the club crest, and sticking the sponsor on the claret band would have been ideal with the new shorts & socks. I'm not convinced, but I guess I'll end up buying it anyway.
  24. Considering the game is televised this evening you would like to think that United would be looking to get as many fans as possible, and as good an atmosphere as possible in their stadium. Complete backward thinking at its very best.
