  1. I'm a fan of the television money being split more evenly, but I understand why the likes of Celtic wouldn't want their home games gate money being split 50/50.
  2. I would disagree there. If he doesn't see a move that he wants in the summer I'd happily see him sign on until January then take it from there. I think having someone of his ability will only help our European quest.
  3. Does anyone have any idea what the price will be like roughly?

    No To Newco Demo

I imagine that a few well-worded emails to the local press will ensure a few media are there. Maybe even the likes of the Record in case they fancy covering it as well.
  5. More to the point, it's completely unverifiable now, isn't it? Typical media nonsense.
  6. Wouldn't this be something that the relevant clubs supporters trusts could get sorted?
  7. I figured I may have started the protest thread a tad early, and maybe should have waited until the club announce the date of the meeting. From what I hear it'll be next week at the latest.
  8. Rangers & Celtic will end up playing each other in "friendlies" if the NEWCO gets bumped, and you can bet that Sky will cover these games.
  9. I just read that part, and have to point out that you're talking shite, it never read anything like that. I'm not steelmenonline, and have never claimed to represent anyone other than myself. As I said, it was suggested that we have too many threads on the subject, so I had a look and found that 99% of the stuff in each threads was the same as the stuff in the other threads, so I merged them. We have two NEWCO threads now, one relating to the club and one for general news on the situation. As I also said, I didn't take into account the poll, and can add another if you wish. I doubt the results will be any different.
  10. There were some who wanted the various threads merged, and some who didn't. As I said, there was pretty much the exact same conversation going on in every thread, which is pointless. The various threads were starting to blur into each other. Also, it won't be long before we get a decision, which will no doubt see a new thread or two to discuss the results. I take on board your point about the poll, and can add another if you feel so strongly about it. I'm sure the same people who voted in it will be back online over the next few days so they can simply vote again.
  11. C'mon, the poll was always going to have the same result. Most folk saying no to NEWCO, whilst one or two saying yes. As for the merger, having scanned through the threads I even saw some instances of the exact same person making the exact same point in two threads! It all covered the same stuff, and I have no doubt that once a decision is reached either way we'll see a new thread to discuss the actual results of it all. We'll end up with one thread pre-decision, and one thread post-decision, which seems about right I reckon.
  12. Fair point. The chat in all of the NEWCO threads seems to be going over the same ground each time, so they've been merged. Should make it easy to keep up with whats being said and so forth. There's now a on-topic thread discussing it as far as Motherwell goes, and an off-topic thread discussing the matter in general.
  13. There have been discussions about a march/protest, but most fans see it simply as Celtic organising a march/protest, and refuse to take part. A bit like the protest against the SNP football bill a while back in George Square. It was open to all football fans but because the wheels were set in motion by Celtic no one else showed up, so it became a Celtic fans against the bill protest.
  14. Remember the days when both Rangers and Celtic were talking about leaving us behind and moving on to the Atlantic League or the EPL or wherever? Remember those days? Where was the talk of Scottish football dying, television deals being retracted and general doomsday shenanigans then? I seem to remember the likes of Walter Smith, and many in the media, saying that such a thing is exactly what Scottish football needed. It would flourish without the Old Firm holding it back and so on. That was us looking at losing both sides of the Old Firm, making the SPL less appealing to television companies than it would be without only Rangers. Now things are different. Why? I'll hazzard a guess here, and say that the reason the media have changed their tune is because the exit of Rangers from the SPL isn't going to provide them with nice trips to high profile grounds in the EPL or in Europe as it would have with the Atlantic league. There's no free lunches and paid holidays for the media where Rangers are going. As for the likes of Walter Smith and other Rangers apologists, they've changed their tune simply because they're not going somewhere more attractive than the SPL. The whole thing reeks of bullshit, all of it being thrown around by the exact same people who were championing an old firm exit to pastures new not that long ago.
  15. I'd certainly hope (and believe) that something can be organised for the fans meeting. Something a bit more than us just sitting in our seats and answering questions when asked (if we're asked) and listening to why our club will be voting in favour of a NEWCO. Considering it may very well be the last time I'm at Fir Park I'd certainly be open to any suggestions.
  16. Or perhaps they should stand aside and allow others with the clubs interests at heart to take their place? I know this is supposed to happen under the control of the Well Society, but I certainly believe that a 'yes' vote from the board on this issue would generate a vote of no confidence.
  17. A bit late in the day I suppose, but what would the general feeling on an actual protest against this happening be? Would those who have spoken out against it be up for helping put something together? I've seen various talk from other clubs regarding a protest against this, and honestly I believe that we should be involved in anything that takes place. Thoughts? Opinions?
  18. Not wanting to highlight you in particular, but this is exactly the kind of viewpoint that the club is looking for, and which ensures that fans continue to get treated poorly in the future. Unless we make it clear to the custodians of our club that we simply won't stand for it any longer nothing will change. If our club vote in favour of a NEWCO those fans who just blindly continue to throw their hard earned down deserve to get shafted.
  19. This is the part that stood out to me the most; When the statement makes reference to it's "main income streams" I'm assuming it's talking about TV money & money from tickets sales and so forth. It then goes on to say that it must decide on which is the least worst option, which is basically the choice of losing some TV money or losing some fans. If the club votes in favour of losing some fans over some TV money then the current board simply don't deserve to represent us or our football club.
  20. I'd still be thoroughly disillusioned in my club for going after the money rather than listening to their fans and maintaining sporting integrity. My season ticket & Well Society membership money would remain firmly in my pocket.
  21. Not too sure about him to be honest. He's nearly thirty, and has had a pretty erratic career for the past three years or so, seeing five clubs in that period. I'd prefer we went for someone a bit younger that may provide some sell-on value down the line.
  22. Get a grip, no one wants to see Motherwell lose any game, but the chances are that we'll end up playing Europa League football this season, hopefully more than one tie right enough! It's simple, if you don't want to discuss it then why not just not post in the thread?
  23. Decent effort. I'd probably buy that.
