With both Craigan & Lasley out for this game, I'd go for the following line-up;
Randolph
Hateley Page Hutchinson Hammell
Humphrey Jennings Carswell Law
Ojamaa Higdon

Our very own captain calls into question the meeting to change the voting structure. As he put it, the other ten were happy to vote it in originally.

Do you expect anything different Andy? We just need to accept that this is how the media operate.

McCall isn't buying into Kenny Shiels headgames about Killie having no chance today;
Motherwell boss Stuart McCall has laughed off Kenny Shiels' suggestion his depleted Kilmarnock side will struggle when the teams meet at Rugby Park.Shiels is without seven players, including centre-backs Mohamadou Sissoko, Manuel Pascali and Ryan O'Leary, but he has the experienced Michael Nelson and Zdenek Kroca as cover.
Motherwell last week beat Aberdeen with young central defensive partnership Jonathan Page and Adam Cummins keeping a clean sheet amid suspensions to Shaun Hutchinson and Tim Clancy and Achilles injuries for Stephen Craigan and Steven Saunders.
So McCall will take nothing for granted in the league clash despite Shiels' protestations.
"I think Kenny tried a few mind games last week against Celtic and it looks like it worked," McCall said.
"I take his point, he has a couple of key men suspended and a couple of injuries.
"We're still without (Keith) Lasley, Craigan is still out, Saunders is not back yet.
"Last week we had to bring in a couple of (under) 19s boys and the lads certainly rose to the challenge.
"I'm sure Kilmarnock have a big enough squad to cover, I don't think they will be bringing kids in. But if they do, they have good youths to come in as well."
Killie have performed better against the top sides this season, beating Rangers home and away, leading 3-0 against Celtic in October as well as beating them in the Scottish Communities League Cup final.
The Ayrshire side are also unbeaten against top-six sides Motherwell and Hearts.
"We've had two really good games against Kilmarnock this season, but both strangely enough finished goalless," McCall said.
"Both games could have finished 2-2, both goalkeepers were in fine form.
"We're well aware what Kilmarnock can produce on the day. They will probably say they have been a little bit inconsistent, but they have had some wonderful results and won the cup, which is a fantastic achievement.
"But if someone were to say we were going to be 20 points ahead of them, I wouldn't have believed it because we are very even as sides and as squads."
Old Firm fans will be fully focused on news from Rugby Park tomorrow as anything less than victory for Motherwell would ensure Celtic could win the title at Ibrox on Sunday.
Former Rangers midfielder McCall, whose team are level on points with the Ibrox side, said: "I've got friends who are Rangers supporters, and family, and it's probably mixed for them.
"They don't want to see Motherwell jump too far ahead, but don't want the opportunity for their greatest rivals to have a party in their stadium.
"But it will be in their own hands as well. They have got a game against Celtic, you can never call a derby.
"Both teams are coming off the back of disappointing defeats. It's got all the ingredients of a torrid affair.
"But we'll just concentrate on what we can do on Saturday. We want to amass as many points as we can.
"We are still wary of the teams below us and we will be focused."
Meanwhile, McCall confirmed the club had begun talks with Steve Jennings over a contract extension amid reports that the midfielder was attracting interest from clubs in the npower Championship.
"We have opened negotiations with five or six of the boys," McCall said. "I stay out of the way of it. Jenno has been talked to.
"He has always signed for a season, but he has been terrific. There have certainly been discussions with Steve."

The club have announced via Facebook that there will be a minute silence tomorrow in memory of Liam Kelly's dad.

For those interested, Craggs was on Sportsound yesterday talking about this very subject. It can be found on iTunes.

No reason why we couldn't get him on a two year deal. Would certainly benefit Player (wee wage rise and he seems happy and settled) and Club (option to sell next Summer).
I'd be over the moon if we managed to get him signed up beyond the end of next season.
-
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but can you pay at the gate tomorrow?
I think paying at the gate is the only way.

Different positions. If you look closely , both lists are a 442. Could only pick one left winger and for me it had to be McFadden. Close call though..
Ah, right, I didn't know you had actually put together a team. I thought it was just a list
-
And for the right money to the club
If he resigns I don't see us getting a fee for him. It'll most likely be a deal until the end of next season, meaning he'll be free to speak to clubs and sign a pre-contract in January.
Considering he can walk away for nothing in a few months time as things stand, I'd say that having him for another year is the best we can hope for.

Taking the conversation from the Kilmarnock match thread I thought this would make for an interesting discussion on its own.
Basically, if you had the choice of Motherwell winning the league cup this season or getting into the qualifiers for the Champions League, which would you prefer and why?
-
David, and we last won the League Cup when?
As I said, we're guaranteed a spot in that tournament every season. The Champions League is something that will probably come along once.
-
Nope.
Not that you'd hear it on our tannoys anyway.
If we get into the qualifiers I'll just download it and listen to it on my iPod during the line-up at the start of the game then

I guess for me, it comes down to us having a shot at the league & FA cup every season, whilst probably never getting another crack at the Champions League.
I doubt we'll do anything of course, but we may get lucky and land a tasty tie. Couple that with hearing the Champions League music at Fir Park (they play it for qualifiers, don't they?) I think it's really a once in a lifetime opportunity. The kind that we'll be telling our grandkids about.
-
Nah would still rather have a Cup.
You on the booze already Finlay?
-
I reckon he'll sign. A move to the English Championship will still be there at the end of next season.
Once our European run comes to an end he can sign a pre-contract in January if he wants.

I think there's a distinction to be made between Favourite and Best. With that in mind...
Favourites
Dykstra
Quinn
Nijholt
Teale
Hammell
Lasley
Russell
Valakari
McFadden
Cusack
Clarkson
Best
Randolph
Burley
Nijholt
Krivokapic
McKinnon
Kirk
Lambert
O'Donnell
McFadden
Coyne
Porter
I did see McAllister and McClair (first time around) but being honest, I was too young to appreciate them..
You'd place the likes of Porter & Krivokapic ahead of Cooper?

Maybe its time for non OF fans to support their Chairmen and threaten to unsubscribe from Sky if the big boys try to ride roughshod over us. Its not only up to club Chairmen - we the fans have a role to play here as well.
A nice idea, but I doubt the non Old-Firm fans will account for that many subscribers. I doubt that even Old Firm fans count for that many either.
Most football fans who subscribe to the Sports channels do so for the EPL, and to a lesser degree La Liga.
-
The best player I've ever seen personally that played for Motherwell is Davie Cooper.
Honourable mentions to Dougie Arnott, James McFadden, Chris McCart & Tommy Coyne.
-
Although I remain sceptical of anything actually happening, it's good to see that some of the SPL Chairman are thinking the same as the majority of fans.

the old firm game has nothing to do with this
It's up to Killie to decided if they wish to request postponement, personally I don't think they will and I wish I wasn't working on Saturday as I would love to go to the game to cheer Killie on the park for winning the league cup.
Cheer them onto the park? For winning the league cup? Not a chance.
Well done to them and all that, but it's the league cup for Christs sake, not the Champions League.
-
I remember we did that at FP in the 80s for Aberdeen...I think was their first game after the Cup Winners Cup win
Yeah, but with all due respect Killie have won the league cup. Well done and all that, but it really should be a case of back to league duty as normal this weekend. No clapping, no salutes or any of that nonsense.

Seems like a pretty healthy debate to me so far, with no petty name-calling or abuse thrown, and what I thought was the whole point of these forums. I'll be happy if Page plays and we win the game and I'm sure David would be happy if Page doesn't play and we win the game.
Exactly. I'm not going to be terribly upset if Page doesn't get the nod on Saturday, as both Clancy and Hutch are both excellent players and have done a great job this season.

As far as we're concerned, I hear that if we qualify for the Champions League and go out at the first qualifying stage we will go into the Europa League qualifying stages as a seeded team.
We would be guaranteed 4 games in Europe then.
