  1. FWIW, players need a run of games a la Blackman and Jutkiewicz, therefore McHugh needs more than one start to feel comfortable, gain a full understanding of the play of the team, and general pace/physicality of the SPL - worthy of another start, at least.

If Higdon fails his medical before the game I think McCall will start with McHugh.

The only problem is, if things don't go well against Hearts I can see him taking some abuse, which won't do his confidence any good I'd imagine.

  2. Agreed. We were lucky enough to be right in front of the 'Well Boys which meant our section was mostly standing for the entire game, but I couldn't believe how many 'Well fans were happy to sit on their arses in relative silence in the "Singing Section" during a Scottish Cup final.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how many fans knew that they had bought tickets for "the singing section".

I knew a few folk who went into the ticket office, asked for tickets and bought them before turning up at Hampden to see that there were people standing in front of them.

If I wasn't a regular on this forum I doubt I'd have known anything about singing sections or whatever. Was it advertised?

  3. The simple answer for 'Well fans is to buy a season ticket, and pick & choose the away games you attend.

If the price of the food at the stadium is not to your liking then simply eat before you come in to the game. Once people stop spending their hard earned at the in-ground kiosk they'll maybe have to rethink their pricing.

If people are happy to continually moan about it though, yet still throw money their way at the weekend then they have no real incentive for changing things up.

  4. Again, not directly Motherwell-related, but Coventry have knocked back an offer of £1.5 million for the Juke.

Skysports.com understands Coventry City have turned down a bid from Championship rivals Burnley for Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The 22-year-old joined Coventry last summer on a three-year contract after the club paid Everton £300,000 for his signature.

He netted nine goals during his debut season at the Ricoh Arena and was on target in the Sky Blues' 2-2 draw at Burnley back in March.

Jutkiewicz was a target for Southampton earlier in the summer and has now been the subject of a failed £1.5million bid from Burnley.

It is understood that Coventry want £3million for the youngster and that would represent a massive profit for the club.

Clarets boss Eddie Howe is busy trying to add to his squad before the start of the season and has agreed a fee with Preston for winger Keith Treacy.

Peterborough United's George Boyd is another target for Howe, whose side face Watford in their opening game of the season on Saturday.

Jutkiewicz, meanwhile, is a doubt for Coventry's first match against Leicester after suffering a dead leg in Saturday's friendly against Norwich City.

  5. If we play as we did against Kilmarnock when we go forward we'll struggle to score.

I'm just hoping that both Hateley and Humphrey are on their game this weekend, and would like to see McHugh get a goal, as I think it would do his confidence some good.

I can see this game finishing as a draw to be honest.

  6. Stoke are the latest to be linked with Murphy. Doesn't strike me as likely as they seem to prefer stronger, more powerful players..

I can live with the various clubs who are supposedly "linked" with Murphy as long as none of them actually approach the club with an offer.

We've been hearing about scouts at our games, bigot brother interest and all sorts for weeks now, but McCall said on Friday that there had been no contact from anyone regarding the lad.

That's good enough for me. I'll start worrying when it's announced officially that the club have accepted a bid for him.

  7. I'm going to risk my neck here as most on this forum seem to be sooking oot his arse with a golden straw:

Humphrey was pish and is on many occasions, he cannot control a ball closely and can only run..

    Preparing for a shitstorm.

Going on yesterdays game, he was pretty terrible. The amount of times he basically ran over the ball and messed up an attack was shocking, and very frustrating.
