  1. There's nothing on the websites of the Scottish Herald, The Independent or Daily Record website.

In fact, a quick Google news search shows that there is nothing linking Murphy with a move to Wigan except that news site you linked.

    Also, there's an interview with Stuart McCall on the Herald site today which quotes him saying;

“There’s not been one enquiry about Jamie Murphy,” the manager said. “That’s the gospel truth. There are maybe clubs who are interested but we’ve not had an enquiry from anybody. And long may that continue from my viewpoint. I spoke to Leeann [Dempster], the chief executive, the other day and I’m sure if there is I’d be the first to know.”
  2. Come on David, never going to see £2m. £1m plus add ons and club would defo accept in my opinion.

As I said, if we don't see £2 million then we refuse to sell. That's what I would do anyway.

Considering the money that English clubs are tossing around for players these days £2 million is pocket change.

  3. Maybe one of the guys who sits up the far end of the east can answer this, but how many of you are there?

The reason I ask is, if there were enough numbers, couldn't you split into two and hit both sides of the east stand, thus hopefully encouraging some singing from the Cooper and the middle of the east?

  4. Kilmarnock away this Saturday.

Our result at the weekend was excellent, but it's worth noting that Killie nabbed a point from Tannadice which isn't too shabby either.

I'm thinking that this game has a point written all over it, hopefully a score draw if that's the case.

Anyone think we need to change anything about the team from the weekend? I heard McCall saying that Higdon was carrying a knock, but hopefully he's okay to play even if he doesn't last the full match again. The more game-time he gets, the fitter he'll become.

Also, is anyone thinking of going? I'll be there, and it'll be my first trip to Rugby Park.

  5. But if they stood in the middle folk widnae be long in complaining they couldnae see so the end section is the right place.

Aye, I never actually thought of that. I just thought the middle would be best to get others to their left & right involved.

  6. Aye, another good show yesterday. Look's like things are slowly spreading up the east stand. If yous can infect a vertical row of seats a season with that mentality maybe we'll get songs in the cooper by season 2134/35.

But actually, a bit of perseverance and more folk will join in. Just a shame yous aren't bang smack in the middle of the east stand or suhin.

    I agree.

I think there would be more people willing to join in if the singing was to start from closer to the middle of the stand.

Still, it was a great showing! Well done lads!

  7. Assuming that young Murphy decides to see out this season with us, what do you think he's capable of accomplishing?

Is this his year to be a breakout star? Will he eventually get the international recognition that some think he deserves already?

Going by what I've seen thus far, and it has only been one league game and a few pre-season matches, I think he looks as though he ready to step up to the plate and become a real star this season.

I just hope he's sensible enough to recognise that another season with us is what he needs at this point in his career.

  8. i heard mccall on the radio after the game saying higdon has been carrying a knock for the last 2 weeks and hes no been doing as much training as the other players hopefully the big man gets to full fitness really soon

Not meaning to sound nasty but I'm glad to hear that. I've not been overly impressed by him, but hearing he has an injury suggests there's better to come.

  9. That would be good in theory, but I'm not sure if the club would be up for upsetting the few fans who actually pay their money for season tickets by simply moving them.

They would have to ask them, and I doubt many would be up for moving. I wouldn't move, for example, but I'd be happy enough to get involved.

I just don't fancy moving to the end of the east, or being the only berk in my area to stand up and start singing

  10. Thank you Dosser1886.

Did I mention that she is quite a few years younger than me as well.

Thanks to all this chat I'm always going to picture you as Larry David from the movie "whatever works" :notworthy:

  11. I actually think a simple thing like moving to the 2nd last section of the East Stand instead of being in the last would help.

I think the general 'singing section' is a bit too cut off from the rest of the fans; It's a decent sized block of fans in the last section, followed by a fairly sparse looking 2nd last section, picking up again at the next section.

I agree. A more central area would help fans to both right & left get involved more.

Not sure how possible that is though.
