    The problem will never go away, so there's no point in complaining about it. Rangers & Celtic will never drop the religious side of things, because if they did they may end up losing support eventually, which isn't what they want. Unfortunately, Motherwell, as a Lanarkshire club, will just have to make do with what we have. We could be doing more by way of getting into schools and bringing kids into the games. God knows we have enough spare seats. Something like that would ensure that a certain percentage of the youngsters continue coming to games as they get older.
  2. The key factor is that both of those teams you mention are usually involved in a relegation battle, so they don't really have the option of trying to play good football. Survival is their number one priority, and rightfully so. Motherwell on the other hand are usually in the middle to upper regions of the table, so we certainly can afford to play some decent stuff.
  3. I like how you wait until after the Inverness game before posting your reply. If we had won I doubt we'd have heard from you today.
  4. I'd be happy with a point from this game, but would obviously love all three.
  5. I would like to see Jeffers brought back in for this game, but there's no way McCall can drop Sutton at the moment.
  6. As I said, the game on Sunday is must-see for me. Also, if the 6-6 game and the Skippy Sunday match is available I'd like one those as well.
  7. I'm hoping that someone on here manages to provide this for us! Who was it that did it last time?
  8. Give it time. I'm sure those who were wanting McCall out after the St Mirren game will be along shortly to maintain their position on the subject.
  9. This is hardly the fixture we wanted after losing at home to St Mirren midweek, especially when the manager has said this today; Celtic would be a tough proposition with a full squad of players to choose from, but the idea of a team that doesn't include Saunders, Jones, Jennings, Lasley or Craigan going out there to play Celtic sends a chill down my spine. I'm hoping that at least one or two from that list make it back in time, but I'm going to have to predict a loss this weekend, probably by a good two or three goal margin I reckon.
  10. To come to that conclusion after such a short space of time is ridiculous to be honest. The guy needs to be given at least until Christmas to put his own stamp on the squad.
  11. McCall has posted his email after the St Mirren game last night;
  12. It's worth remembering that a players balance can be easily knocked when he's turning like that for the ball. I'm not saying that Canning brought Sutton down, but I don't think Sutton "conned" anyone, which is what Reid was stating.
  13. Nah, he'll most likely just bin the abusive ones, if he even reads them at all. If it was me I'd just bin all the replies after we got cuffed 6-0. I hope he keeps sending them out. They make for interesting reading, and we certainly aren't going to get anything of that detail in the rags at the weekend, are we?
  14. Aye, Reid's complaining was just sour grapes I think, and not only does he not think it was a penalty, he also accuses Sutton of diving;
  15. A win on Wednesday will see us taking nine points from our last possible twelve, which isn't too bad at all. Something from this game would be nice, as I don't see us getting much change out of our game with Celtic next weekend.
  16. Not so much an achievement as a sign that a lot of people don't actually know what the fuck they're on about.
  17. Abuse it by doing what? Sending him an abusive email?
  18. Aye, you can't fault him there. He's doing his best to interact with the fans , which is a nice touch.
  19. If we have any kind of aspirations of making the top six we really should be winning games against the likes of Hamilton, so I'll go for a comfortable 2-0 win, with Jeffers hopefully getting on the scoresheet again. If he can nab a goal in this game or the following against St Mirren he could kick start a wee bit of a run for himself.
  20. One goal doesn't make him a great striker, but he's certainly done himself no harm, and can hopefully add another one or two in the games against Accies and St Mirren.
  21. That's an excellent point there. I know that I'd certainly prefer a visit to somewhere other than the Old Firm four times a season.
  22. So what would you have the club do? Sack McCall and Black after just over a month in the job?
  23. I can understand the pessimism regarding the appointment of McCall and the signing of Jeffers, as I was one of the vocal ones when Jeffers name came up as a possible target, but now that he's actually at the club he has my 100% support. I would love nothing better than to read my posts in this thread at the end of this season and laugh at myself. However, it appears to me that you seem to be hellbent on knocking everything that MCall does. I'm not sure why that's the case, as it makes absolutely no sense and doesn't do anyone any good at all. Why not just get behind the manager and the team?
  24. Malpas was assistant to Butcher for a period before taking over as manager, so he would have known the squad by the time he got the job. Apart from that, he was given over a year in the job before leaving. McCall should be given until the end of next season to prove his worth, which will allow for some moves in the summer window.
