  1. My thoughts as well. A trip to Hampden is always something special, whilst a trip to Edinburgh is a hassle more than anything else.
  2. Rather than start a new topic I've just edited the title of this one, as the discussion sort of follows on really. The question I'm asking is, would you like to see Jeffers offered a new deal for next season? Now, I know he'll likely not be hanging around, but for discussions sake let's imagine that he wants to stay, and on the same money as well. Has he done enough in his stint here to prove to you that he's worth a contract beyond this season? Does he need to play a major part in securing top six before you'd want to offer him a new deal? Or do you just think he's pish and not worth it regardless?
  3. Going on recent form we should steel ourselves for a gubbing this weekend! Hopefully that won't be the case though, as I feel that a top six finish will be instrumental in tying up some of the guys who are out of contract at the end of the season. If the lads can't take the confidence from last night and push on against auld Broon's lot this weekend then I don't know what kind of motivation it'll take. I'd start with pretty much the same eleven, with the only change probably being the return of Craigan at the back. Murphy & Jeffers have to start though, I've no doubt about that.
  4. Not in my case. We could be playing Odense in Europe this weekend and the other half wouldn't pay £22 for it. As she put it, she could go to a decent show in Glasgow for that and she would be sitting indoors in a comfy seat with a guaranteed performance, or pay even less to go to the cinema then a coffee afterwards. Listening to her was interesting, as it was the opinion of a person who was at the game that isn't a "die-hard" who'll pay over the top prices for a less than stellar product. She simply doesn't think that £22 to watch Scottish football is value for money, and regardless of whatever excuses the club has for not charging less on a weekly basis, the harsh truth is we'll get the same crowd (and that will eventually decrease over the next year or so) unless we sort our pricing out. The only people who'll pay current prices are mugs like all of you & me
  5. I've just come home from a game that saw a crowd of just under 9,000. A game on a relatively cold, damp Wednesday night. I took my other half with me to her first Motherwell game, and she fucking loved it. As soon as we got back to the car she asked me when the next game was, and was well up for going to the Aberdeen game. When I told her that her £10 seat in the O'Donnell stand will cost her £22 on Saturday she suddenly lost the enthusiasm to go. I wonder how many others will be saying the same thing after tonights game? This would have been an excellent opportunity for the club to kick on and get some new bodies through the turnstiles, but I guarantee that when I plank my arse in my east stand seat on Saturday it'll be back to the usual attendance. It's frustrating as hell
  6. This game determines if our season is going to be over by the end of March. Simple as that. We may make the top six, but even if we do we aren't going to be competing for anything.
  7. I'd actually prefer if he sent out an email before a game rather than after it. At least he can be positive and do his best to drum up support & enthusiasm for the upcoming game.
  8. I assumed you were hitting me with some sarcastic humour there. Apologies if that wasn't the case. Good idea though.
  9. Couldn't you just update one of the other ebay threads you've already created rather than starting a new one every time?
  10. It's as fair & sensible as those who are questioning Stuart McCall's ability to do the job after less than three months in the position.
  11. Excellent news. Has the design been finalised yet? If not, you could maybe work with the club to release three possible designs and have fans vote on which they prefer or something? Wishful thinking on my part most probably.
  12. Once again I'd like to ask if anyone can suggest a realistic replacement for McCall who isn't just a stop-gap until the end of the season? I can't think of anyone else who would take the job at the moment.
  13. Really? And you think that someone posting "Bumped. Another defeat" isn't stupid? I'm not saying that there shouldn't be negative opinions on McCall, and there has been a good few in this thread, but they at least have to come with some sort of reasonable argument. Simply bumping the thread whenever we lose a game (and it's the same people who keep doing it) without an intelligent reason why only serves to start abusive posts and other childish behaviour, which isn't on.
  14. Allow me to be the first to say thus far that I'll be buying a new season ticket! My work arrangements have changed, so it's worth my while now!
  15. McCall needs one complete season in charge as far as I'm concerned, so I'd give him until the end of next season. The simple truth of the matter is we haven't been better than enough teams to warrant a top six placing. I don't think we deserve a top six placing this season. I also don't think that a club like Motherwell should automatically assume that a top six finish is our right every season either. We've been spoiled somewhat by the last few seasons when we've qualified for Europe. We've got a decent cup run this season (and it's not over yet), and a chance of finishing in the top six. All of that is still possible despite our management team leaving us in the lurch halfway through the campaign, and a new management team trying to get a handle on things having arrived right before the window opened in January, resulting in us losing both Reynolds and Blackman, both of whom were key players in the first half of the season. To say it's been a season of roadbumps is an understatement, and even without a top six finish I'll still be able to look back at our cup and European run as a highlight. Hopefully next season will be more calm as far as backroom staff goes.
  16. Point taken. The next time this thread gets bumped try to have something worth posting, otherwise it's getting binned. Simply saying "Bumped. Another defeat" or suchlike isn't on.
  17. If we want to try an entice children to support Motherwell instead of the Old Firm we really should be letting a number of under 16's in for free every home game. Those seats just sit empty otherwise.
  18. The only way such a boycott would work would be if the majority of fans from all SPL clubs took part. A weekend with no fans at any games would draw the attention of the media, that's for sure.

Aye, I think this chat has run it's course, and is in danger of heading completely off-topic altogether.
  20. I'd price it at £10 per adult skull, and let children in for free.
  21. I doubt it would have to be honest. If anyone was seriously considering going to the game they would have done. It was a nice little money earner for the club though. A lot of the fans who attended would most likely have sat at home and watched it otherwise.
