Added to that point, the minute the accies game was called off due to the pipes in the stand, the covers should have been removed and heating switched off. IMO!

To be honest I dont have a problem with them frisking the fans etc. But they need to find a way to go about the operation more efficiently. The way they worked it on Saturday, there was no need for any more than 2 turnstyles to be in operation, because it took so long for security to do their job the 2 closest turnstyles had cleared anyway. Also, there was about 8 of them standing there having a confab like jumped up bouncers at a nightclub, with less than half of them actually doing any security screening. It was a farce! Maybe not the goals of it, but certainly the methods.
-
And why does it take 8 security guards to stop us getting in, and wat is the point in having 6-8? working turnstyles, when said security guards are only letting punters through on a 1 by 1 basis. Also heard reports of the security guards and turnstyle operators having a barny with each other. Farce!

You dont need to be that good to play for Scotland though.

Whilst I agree with you that we do have a great deal of amatuer groundsmen on here, including myself. I think we are all a bit pissed off that another amatuer groundsmen - Craig Brown, appears to know more about the subject than our head groundsman!
-
To be honest, no. Take last Wednesday night as an example. The Papac incident happened right infront of me, albeit 7 rows in front. The whole stand goes mental as we should, but........ a few fannies including the baldy dude can't contain themselves and go right to the front venting like derranged banshee's. Now whilst the guy looked out of control, at least he was able to stay on the right side of the wall. Whats going to happen when the crowd are boozed up?? Sadly, I don't think the Scottish culture and fitbaw can co-exist in the ground together.

Its a stupid article, to suggest that it's Motherwells fault for playing by the rules, whilst essentially admitting the linesman messed up but the decision isn't really his fault, ludicrous!
-
I think getting top 6 would be a great achievment. Do I think we could get 4th? Yes. Do I think we will? Not sure.
-
I've been quite critical of the groundstaff on here in recent weeks, and I do think they probably should shoulder some of the blame for the current nick, but from what I seen last night, that wasn't caused by a tractor driving over it. There was no substance to the pitch, nothing holding it together it was like playing on a beach with some green shoots through it. A tracter might mess the thing up, but it certainly doesnt alter the composition of the entire surface.

I still want to know how our manager knows that pitch covers kill grass but our groundsman doesn't!!!
-
Why do only 'experienced' and supposedly the best refs get to officiate old firm games, when there is no such entry requirement for a game between the likes of Motherwell and St Mirren? Do Rangers and Celtic have a greater need of reliable ref's than we do? Do they get more points than the rest of us for a win?? NO!!
-
Love it if we could get 4th. Wer 9 behind United, but we have a game in hand and still to play them at least 1 more time, hopefully twice. They have got 5th 2 years running, would get it right up them if it was 3. Sadly im not sure we have the consistency for it though. Top 6 would be an achievment considering where we were July 1st, and a good bit more realistic.

Yaaaaaaaasss!! GIRFUY McGhee! What an afternoon, could have been even better I was right on the money up until the last 5 minutes when Southend found two goals to arsehole me out of 107pound! (My pound sign has went missing since the laptop got fixed!)
-
Mines is fucked too. Reckon its those sheepy commentators taking a cream puff!
-
Yaaaaaaassss Are these commentators Aberdeen fans? They didnt exactly get excited at the goal, i almost thought Sutton had missed it given the reaction!
-
So all the growing from seed palavar wasn't really needed if we just have to lay new grass every 6 months anyways. On the positive aspects though, Old Trafford wasn't looking too clever the other night either.

Im undecided, I've got to say. Im happy they have got it in the short term. Everyone can see they have arrested our slump and got a new found 'happy' vibe to the squad. In the long term Im not sure they can give us a team to push us to the level we all would like i.e - going for Europe every other season. I know, we have absolutley no right to expect this since we are effectivley a small team, but McGhee did it, and I think Gannon had the potential to do it. Im not so sure with Brown, although I would be more than happy for him to convince us otherwise.

Didnt he say back in the summer that he wanted to be judged on this pitch? His pitch??
-
Thats what I thought as well. Not a groundsman, but neither is Brown and he seemed to know about covers killing grass. Cant we have let the snow fall and then clear it? Or leave the covers on for the two days of snow and then remove snow and covers? Surely the minute that Accies game was called off 3 days before the match for the burst pipes, we should have had the US turned off and covers removed given we were not due to play at home again for weeks. Maybe we did, maybe its our manager who is mistaken??
-
I think you will find browsing these boards, a number of experts in many fields Too be fair though, you don't have to be a horticulturalist, or even a groundsman to note how shite the pitch looked on Saturday.
-
Maybe warrantys go when they hear we had the US heating running for 3 weeks with pitch covers on top, even though we were only scheduled to be playing the one game on it anyway! I've got to say that despite the warnings we had back in the summer that the pitch would get dodgy in the winter months, I am dissapointed at how bad it has become so quickly, without a game being played on it. I had a walk round the pitches at Pollok Park on Sunday which have notoriously bad drainage. They were all pretty decent to be fair. They dont have paid groundsmen, US heating, pitch covers, etc. and had inches of snow lieing on them for a couple of weeks before it melted in. A fucking public park with bad drainage outperforming a proffesional outfit which has had close to 400k spent on it! Not good! On the positive side, it would be remis of my rant not to mention that Falkirks and St Johnstones didn't really seem much better from what I saw on the TV.

Our pies are nothing special, better than the fayre you get at Tyncastle and St Mirren but nothing to write home about. How the standards have slipped from 15 years ago! I had always thought the killie pie was an overhyped marketing creation, but I had 2 last weekend and fuck me they were beautiful! If they get relegated can we ask to get them in our place instead?? A Killie Pie at Fir Park.

If Hutch is fit, get him in the team, even if it means playing him upfront with the Juke. Imagine the goal threat we would carry with the two of them up top, particularly if we play two wingers whipping balls in all day.

Its a free weekend on ESPN so all platforms can watch for nothing. That should mean attendance of about 3000!
