  1. @Tweed - It actually was Lasley that played the ball to the byeline. Grimshaw was involved in the build up, knocked it in to Ainsworth, then to Lasley, good run by Marvin and ball to him by Las.
  2. Both not good enough at our level, for whatever reasons. Best of luck to them.
  3. Sounds like Pearo and Fletch still out but both took some part in training this morning. Good to hear the players didn't get the full week off, were in getting fitness tested and all improving as planned.
  4. Yeah I would agree. Good to have strikers confident raring to go though. Could be the difference if the rest of thr team arent scoring. 1 from thebatarying striker and another from 1 off the bench!
  5. Goal for Robinson in the U20s tonight. Should at least give him some confidence and put him in the managers thoughts.
  6. Up to 6 weeks according to official site, that was from his op on the 14th August, so end of the month. Hopefully before though!
  7. I think we can play with wingers and be successful. But, we need more than one up top to capitalise on playing that way. Suggested it above, but I would play it 4-4-2 and match them up, McDonald up top with another and have one of the midfield two busting a gut with runs in to the box (Grimshaw probably). At the moment McDonald and the rest of the central midfield are sitting far too deep happy to pass the ball sideways. We need them to drive it forward on their own at times and when its out on the wing not be happy to sit so far back. My only worry with the 4-3-3 like suggestions above are that we would be far too narrow but its not a bad shout. We would need to really be on top of our defence game to neutralise Gardyne and Franks on the wings supplying Boyce and Curran..
  8. If Saturday is anything to go by then Lasley will be the one sitting and Grimshaw will be doing the running. I would put him in straight away as he looks to offer more than Taylor and Leitch in the middle...and that was only from a friendly. Ripley Laing McManus Kennedy Hammell Ainsworth Lasley Grimshaw Thomas McDonald Fletcher I would like to see us match them 4-4-2 and move away from 4-2-3-1 for a while. Our striker is too isolated with the current setup and form. I would give Laing a go at right back and tell him to play it safe and not to go on runs up the wing. Keep it simple. Thomas in again but he needs to find a man more often sharpish. Moult has been good I think. But from what I have seen of Fletcher he looks to edge it for me (and hopefully is fit)

    Well Bois

As an aside - good show from the bois on Saturday with the banners etc.
  10. For me Clarkson, Robinson and Taylor all showed a bit more than the last time I saw them. A bit more to go though to make any real difference in the first team. Reid looked a bit rusty but ok for his second game back after a serious injury. McMillan looked good going forward but got done a couple of times defending which was not ideal. Grimshaw looked tidy enough and could be that Jennings luke player we need. Generally, we need to start shooting from outside the 6 yard box and/or drastically improve our final ball. We seem determined to cross it or play it in to the net!
  11. I would agree with bothe strands of the discussion here. It was probably an ill advised comment to make publicly. But he is right. From the U20 games I have been to I think only Thomas, Cadden and maybe McMillan are ready to step up.

    Well Bois

We all need to evolve, not revolve.
  13. Sounds a good idea my man.
  14. Hammil was released before the window closed so is a free agent. I was going to post his name as a possibility but given he is a winger didn't think we would be looking at him. I have read Thistle are the team looking at him. Also linled to Barnsley and a couple of others according to this: http://www.examiner.co.uk/sport/football/news/former-huddersfield-town-wideman-adam-9981451
  15. Essentially c £1m I would imagine a nominal fee of £1 to facilitate the actual transfer which is quite normal in a transaction like this. That is 100% different than saying he bought the club for free. Anyway, I don't really want to waste the thread by going back and forth. If you want to believe he got it for free like you said originally then fine. But in reality the situation is more complex than that as I think you know given your other posts.
  16. Not quite buying it for free though is it...
  17. That's a Daily Mail level of spin right there..... Hutchison took a majority shareholding due to providing a loan (now c £1m) to the club under the agreement it is paid back and then that shareholding transfers to the society. Are you suggesting he will just keep a hold of the shareholding once it's been all paid back? If not, care to explain how it's been bought for free?
  18. To go in to the development/u20 setup do you mean?
  19. At the very least, this chat is evidence that we have options over 2 positions...both right back and centre mid. That is a good thing.
  20. Yeah I would agree. I think a lot of information is there between news dates and emails it's just a case of knowing it is there. so an updated q and a section on the WS and/or idiots guide or something on the main site would be useful.
  21. Sounds fine to me. I have Word 97 if it needs typed up. haha.
  22. Depends if we even have it yet I suppose.
