I know a Hartlepool supporter through work and they really like Thomas. I would have said it doesn't sound like the same player but we never saw enough of him to judge.
Dundonald Bluebell in Fife. I remember we brought him on as a sub in a cup defeat at Love Street. He looked completely out of his depth but, to be fair, so did the majority of the team that day. I don't remember him getting a game after that.
I thought McMillan moved into left midfield when Hammell came into the team. It gave us a solid left side as McMillan could support Hammell, contribute to midfield and also try to move up the wing.
It's probably the most cover Hammell's ever had!
I don't have BT Sport so don't get to hear him but there was an interesting interview with him in yesterday's Herald. While he came across arsey in some parts he did show some humility and I also think he has a bit of a smart arse sense of humour which doesn't always come off.
Yeah he did alright at Accies but was young and inexperienced when he came to us on loan. My memory was his touch was poor and he had a habit of running into the corner flag and getting trapped there when he had the ball.
Grabban was another one who made little impact with us but went on to do very well.
On a more positive note, Alan McCormack was very good for us and one we would have liked to keep.
We could probably put together a good team and a poor team of loan signings although we might have to leave blank spaces for full backs!
Was McGlinchey a loan signing?
I'm not sure when loans started but we've had a number of goalies, centre halves, central midfielders and centre forwards but I can't think of many wider players and I particularly can't think of any full backs.
It's always quiet on here during international breaks and the recent loan signing of Belic got me wondering about our success rate with loan signings. We've had loan signings for almost every position and with varying degrees of success ranging from Lukas Jutkiewicz to Jake Taylor.
We've gone on to sign some loan signings permanently and others have been sent back as soon as possible.
I'm not really looking to go into whether we should or shouldn't have loan signings (that's been done to death elsewhere) but what are your stand-out loan signings for good or bad reasons?
If Oxford were able to increase their bid beyond £470k and possibly up to £650k then they were obviously chancing their arm with their initial bid and we were quite right to hold out for better. The figure of £1m was always pie in the sky and it sounds as though as though we've got roughly what I was expecting or possibly even more.
I know it's stating the obvious to say we can't play all our forwards at once but McGhee hss made enough comments about lacking options from the bench.
We'll be looking to sell on for a profit which is more likely with a forward and a goalscorer in particular. There is a limit to how many forwards we can play though!
Right, I've finished half watching a programme about a factory that makes gutties and need to go to bed. Come on Motherwell - give us an announcement one way or the other.
I'd be surprised if we could meet Pawlett's wage demands. I think it's more likely to be a promising young player with the potential to sell on, much like we've just done with Johnson.
So it's 11 o'clock and the window shuts in England. Does that mean we can only sign players from Scottish clubs or can we sign players from England as they are coming into Scotland?
