I like Devante Cole, he can play across the front 3. I also like how Robinson says Devante, so I am encouraged by this news. It's a difficult situation with our attacking options, White has been poor and doesn't look like a fit at this level, and Watt and Long have shown glimpses, but we know that they're both inconsistent. We don't have the right front man to play along with wingers effectively, and our wingers aren't particularly good either, so it's hard to disagree with bringing in another striker.

I guess if Hibs met our valuation we'd have to consider it, but I can't imagine them doing that. Do they have a rich owner now? I'm surprised any non-OF club is spending money right now, 3rd place hardly pays well.

This is frustrating, but I'm not sure how much we can do to prevent this. We can't pay anything like the money these teams can, and our setup isn't close. We barely put a step wrong all game and fully deserved the result. The back 3 strolled it, and once again Mugabi was solid. He has taken advantage of the chance given to him, and whoever comes in on Thursday will have to work just as hard to keep their place. I'm not sure why grimshaw came in for mcginley, but he did fine. Watt and Long ran themselves into the ground, with watt doing a great job of holding the ball up.

We're good value for our lead. We've worked hard and Campbell and long haven't given them a seconds peace. Campbell has been immense. Aberdeen had a spell at the end of the half, and we need to make sure we control things and don't give them any hope. I'll comment my thoughts on certain defenders after the game, to avoid the jinx.

He has played over 100 games under Robinson, so we probably should give the manager some credit for his development. His attitude and work rate are top notch, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get to the highest level in England or abroad at some point. Lack of height and pace are probably the reasons he hasn't moved on yet, but he's going to have a pretty good career one way or the other.

Does he come with his own physio and a years supply of bubble wrap?

Remember that you don't know what our players actually get paid, and also how much we are losing due to Covid. There's no way we are bringing in 4 players. The money we have now should be used to keep the club on a secure footing, then for long term initiatives, such as infrastructure, so that we can keep up with other clubs when it comes to facilities and development.

I don't think we go out with a plan to hit those long balls, we just revert to it when we run out of ideas 3 mins into the match.

We didn't have a midfielder on the bench yesterday (unless you count maguire) and I don't trust Polworth and O'Hara with no competition, so whether we lose campbell or not, we really need backup there. God knows who that might be.

Our situation is nothing like Dundee Utds, and nothing this board has done over the last decade suggests the dodgy dealings they were up to. Where we are right now is night and day compared to the shit show we had under Boyle and Dempster. Robinson doesn't have free reign over transfer dealings, but if part of his brief is to bring in players we can sell on, then I'd be surprised if there wasn't some kind of incentive/reward in his contract, likewise with Foyle. However, I'd also be surprised if some random happens to know the ins and outside of someone's contract. I'm more worried about the fact that we don't look anywhere near having another youth product coming through, which is the other part of his brief.

When a player is ready to leave us there isn't much we can do. Money is one factor, but taking on a new challenge and progressing is another. The club is pretty vocal about our model of selling players, and they might as well embrace it because that's the way it's going to be anyway. Campbell is the poster boy for our academy due to how driven he is, and how hard he has worked to meet his goals and make the most of his career. I'd be surprised if his ambitions ended with us. While it would be nice if he signed a deal so that we could make some money off him, and I hope he does, we can't force him to . Since we would be due compensation anyway, I'd prefer we kept him until the end of his contract rather than cash in now, but things aren't that simple when human beings are involved. Either way, who is next in line to graduate from the academy and give us 100 appearances?

The stream went down for me for about a minute in the first half after the goal, then for a shorter period in the second half. That was the first time I had any issues this season, outside of that test game against rangers. I doubt much of it is within our control, and don't know how many companies are lining up to replace these folk, but I'm curious as to whether the other clubs are having issues with the streaming platform.

It was a hard fought a game, and we did what we needed to win, so I'll take it. Only 3pts off of 5th now. Lamie really switched off on 2 occasions and only inept play from St J saved us from conceding each time. Outside of those mistakes, they had a couple of crosses and not much else. I can't really fault Bevis, he was pretty solid again. Watt and Lang worked hard, and Watt did a decent job of holding onto the ball, something that we've missed. We didn't manage to get crosses into the box as promised though, until white came on. I thought he looked more of a nuisance today and it was a shame he had to come off. We will be absolutely fucked when Campbell goes.

Where are we with mcginley and Carroll? They used to have an injury list on the website but I can't find it anymore. And Dunne, forgot about him.

Not going to over analyze this one as most of us expected this result. However, the mistakes we made would have lost us any game, and has been the story of our season. I assume it was O'Hara that lost his man for the 2nd goal, which is also something he seems to do. Going forward we didn't offer much, and our best chance of taking anything from the game would have been 0-0. Grimshaw did well against forest, but was lost against Frimpong. O'donnell was also shaky. We never seemed to be in the game after their goal, so I didn't have a problem with the substitutions at the time, it was worth a try, but they didn't work.

We've been decent defensively, with grimshaw handling the left back position ok, and mugabi gaining the confidence to try and take on Celtic on his own. Going forward we've been disjointed, with our best piece of play leading to Watt's chance at the end of the half. We've seen halves like this against the OF before, hopefully we stay competitive in the second. A lot of mistakes for their goal, o'donnells terrible cross left half the team stranded, O'Hara failing to bring down macgregor, then the defending in the box.
